From Five Stars to Two :-( Updates have not been made to the PetsVet website, but Dr. Suzanne…read moreColbert has moved on to begin her own practice in Morgan Hill and is no longer seeing patients at PetsVet. I learned this a couple of days ago during a very difficult series of interactions resulting in the fact that I can no longer recommend this business. The front desk staff is great, and the location is awesome. I would have kept the original 5 star review but, this week, my experience was truly awful. Friday we saw a doctor I presumed was a temporary/substitute for Dr. Colbert that day. I can't recall his name but he was delightful, thorough, and answered all of my questions. He confirmed our little doggo had Gingivitis and an oral infection and recommended dental procedure asap. He prescribed antibiotics 3 days prior to prevent serious infection before/after. Surgery was set for 10 days later with "a woman doctor" (this is how office staff referred to her) which I presumed to be Dr. Colbert. Tuesday infection was clearly worse, and she was in pain, so Iet them know I wanted to start antibiotics early and refill/use an NSAID she'd had after a prior surgery. The medical assistant relayed the doctor's message. This is when I learned Dr. Colbert would not be performing the surgery and was no longer with their office. To paraphrase: "Yes, your dog has an oral infection, we're aware it's getting worse, and that she's experiencing pain, but you need to wait 5 more days to begin the antibiotics the substitute doctor prescribed. Do not give her any kind of pain medication, including prescription anti-inflammatory you have on hand from a past surgery or it will 'mess up her blood work'. She'll be fine in 11 days after dental surgery/treatment." I was really anxious about infection worsening. I'm aware of the issues with taking partial/unnecessary courses of antibiotics, but I still can't understand the difference between starting 8 days ahead and 3 days ahead. If it was about blood work having to be redone I would have paid for that - it seems like anything taken 10 days before surgery would be inaccurate anyway. I took doggie to an urgent care center and that vet didn't understand either. When she called for clarification she got the same answer. Minutes later I was called by PetsVet and told to look elsewhere for help. Doggie was given pain meds and antibiotics. 36 hours later infection and pain are almost gone. We're looking forward to having her treated by Dr. Colbert in a few weeks. I'm disappointed to have to write this review, but after so many attempts to communicate I feel that I've given this business the opportunity to resolve this.

I began exploring all kinds of programs with various trainers around the idea and Primal Canine stood apart from the get go because: (1) Erin is an amazing, kind and professional person to work with. She is prompt, yet not pushy. She worked with the facts and empathy for our needs and budget to help us get to the right program. (2) The trainer we were assigned to was forthcoming, efficient and excellent with the training. He was clear with what we could expect and what the constraints were. (3) Primal Canine is local to where we live, and we really preferred to go with a nearby small business, as both one we could support and build a relationship with, and for convenience. Within the 3 weeks of board and train our puppy went through, he came back with solid foundations and ability to understand and respond positively to basic commands. Primal's role does not end with the program - they constantly support with our needs and questions even after graduating from B&T, and actually offer a lifetime of resources to help us grow and flourish with our new best friend. We could not be happier we went with Primal and would recommend them to anyone who is looking to build a rewarding relationship with their dogs. Special shout-out to Erin and the trainer we worked with - you've been amazing to our family. Thank you!

Let me start by saying I have the utmost respect for vets and their staff. Vet care is a tough…read moreprofession. I am a seasoned dog owner who has spent many hours and has had many visits to the ER over the years. However this last visit was brutal. We arrived at 830 am and didn't get fully seen and discharged for 12 hours ! 12 hours is insane to make someone with a sick animal wait. At least be up front on check in and say. You are likely looking at 5-6 hour wait. At least that way you can make a call and decide to not put your already sick animal through more stress. I get how triage works. Most pressing cases are seen first. But to have us come back into the exam room several times just to sit and wait for at least an hour or more each time is wild. The tech calls me and ask me if I've left and I say no I'm right outside and by the time I've come in they have forgotten about us and stick us in an exam room only to sit and wait another chunk of time. The vet was lovely and she helped diagnose my dog and set up a treatment plan. That was the only plus.

She had stopped eating and drinking for weeks and had recently begun having seizures. As difficult as it was, we knew it was time to let her rest peacefully. Before bringing her in, I called MedVet because this was my first time going through the euthanasia process. The woman I spoke with was incredibly informative and compassionate. She patiently answered my questions and even provided a price range so we knew what to expect. When we arrived at the emergency hospital emotional, they assisted is right away. The registration process was quick and easy, and Sophie was taken back for an evaluation within just a few minutes. Soon after, we were escorted to a comfort room where one of the veterinary assistants gently explained that the doctor agreed it was time to let Sophie go. Once we made the decision, the staff brought Sophie back to us and gave our family all the time we needed to say our goodbyes. They even gave us a button to press whenever we were ready for the doctor to come in, which allowed us to move at our own pace without feeling rushed. When we were ready, the doctor came in and was incredibly kind and compassionate. He carefully explained each step of the process before administering the injections. Although it happened quickly, it brought us comfort knowing Sophie was no longer in pain or suffering. Afterward, the doctor respectfully took Sophie and explained the next steps. Every staff member we encountered treated us with kindness, compassion, and genuine empathy during one of the hardest moments our family has ever experienced. About a week after Sophie's passing, we received a handwritten condolence card in the mail. It was such a thoughtful gesture that meant so much to our family. I cannot thank the team at MedVet enough for the care they showed Sophie and our family. I highly recommend MedVet to anyone facing such a difficult situation. They made an incredibly painful experience as peaceful and comforting as it could possibly be.

Our silky had been acting funny the last few days, but when we got here the vet couldn't really diagnose what was going on other than she thought it was some kind of infection. She offered to put liquids in her, but they had no injectable antibiotics for chickens. I kind of feel like the receptionist overstated what they were capable of. We've been sitting in this room over an hour waiting on the fluids. We've been here almost 2 hours in total. Over $350 for what amounts to a 5 minute exam, no bird medicine, and languishing in a waiting room. I am upset. I understand if there are other animals with serious issues, but it feels like once we paid, they could take their time. Wrapping this review up in the context of a few days later, and seeing our regular vet, the vets on staff didn't seem to know what to do with our bird. She couldn't show us how to give her a pill, or tube feed, nothing. Our regular vet did that a few days later. I'm grateful they did some triage that at least got her to where we were able to take her to our regular vet.

I brought my French Bulldog to this emergency veterinary hospital on August 23, 2026, around 4 PM…read morebecause the entire left side of his face was severely swollen. We specifically told multiple staff members, including the doctor, that we suspected the swelling could be related to an ear infection. My dog was taken to the back, and despite being there for approximately six hours, I was never allowed to see him during the visit. We were told that they needed to discuss payment before examining him. We ultimately paid $243 for the initial "exam," $357.25 for blood work, plus medication fees, for a total of $761.21. After getting home, I checked his ear myself and noticed a significant amount of wax. I called the hospital to confirm whether his ears had been examined. Emily put me on hold to ask and then told me that they had not checked his ears. When I asked why, considering we had specifically raised the possibility of an ear infection and his face was swollen extremely close to his ear, I was told that they do not check ears unless there is a specific reason to. I find that extremely concerning. We specifically gave them a possible explanation for his symptoms, and his swelling was located directly next to his ear. I expected that to at least warrant an ear examination, especially after paying hundreds of dollars for an exam. I then asked to speak with the doctor or a manager. I was told there was only a shift lead. When I asked to speak with the shift lead, I was told she was busy and that the doctor was in the middle of a "procedure." I simply asked for the shift lead's name, and Emily told me I did not need to be given that information and then hung up on me. I understand that emergency veterinary care can be expensive, and I am willing to pay for appropriate care for my dog. What I cannot accept is paying $761.21 and later learning that something as basic as checking his ears was not done--even though we specifically raised an ear infection as a possible cause of his facial swelling. The lack of communication, compassion, transparency, and professionalism throughout this experience was extremely disappointing. I brought my dog here because I trusted this facility to properly evaluate him when he was clearly unwell. Instead, I left feeling like my concerns were dismissed and that the focus was more on payment than making sure my dog received a thorough examination. If you are considering bringing your pet here in an emergency, I strongly recommend asking exactly what will be examined and what is included in the "exam" before agreeing to treatment or charges. My experience left me deeply disappointed and concerned about the level of care my dog received. I don't need a generic response with " we apologize for your experience ,please feel free to contact us" what you need to do is train Emily for some customer service and the other lady who rolled her eyes when I was speaking to them during my visit.
