Had my first home visit. It wasn't as expensive as I thought and was super easy. Not rushed.

I learned this a couple of days ago during a very difficult series of interactions resulting in the fact that I can no longer recommend this business. The front desk staff is great, and the location is awesome. I would have kept the original 5 star review but, this week, my experience was truly awful. Friday we saw a doctor I presumed was a temporary/substitute for Dr. Colbert that day. I can't recall his name but he was delightful, thorough, and answered all of my questions. He confirmed our little doggo had Gingivitis and an oral infection and recommended dental procedure asap. He prescribed antibiotics 3 days prior to prevent serious infection before/after. Surgery was set for 10 days later with "a woman doctor" (this is how office staff referred to her) which I presumed to be Dr. Colbert. Tuesday infection was clearly worse, and she was in pain, so Iet them know I wanted to start antibiotics early and refill/use an NSAID she'd had after a prior surgery. The medical assistant relayed the doctor's message. This is when I learned Dr. Colbert would not be performing the surgery and was no longer with their office. To paraphrase: "Yes, your dog has an oral infection, we're aware it's getting worse, and that she's experiencing pain, but you need to wait 5 more days to begin the antibiotics the substitute doctor prescribed. Do not give her any kind of pain medication, including prescription anti-inflammatory you have on hand from a past surgery or it will 'mess up her blood work'. She'll be fine in 11 days after dental surgery/treatment." I was really anxious about infection worsening. I'm aware of the issues with taking partial/unnecessary courses of antibiotics, but I still can't understand the difference between starting 8 days ahead and 3 days ahead. If it was about blood work having to be redone I would have paid for that - it seems like anything taken 10 days before surgery would be inaccurate anyway. I took doggie to an urgent care center and that vet didn't understand either. When she called for clarification she got the same answer. Minutes later I was called by PetsVet and told to look elsewhere for help. Doggie was given pain meds and antibiotics. 36 hours later infection and pain are almost gone. We're looking forward to having her treated by Dr. Colbert in a few weeks. I'm disappointed to have to write this review, but after so many attempts to communicate I feel that I've given this business the opportunity to resolve this.

Our older corso had been trained by Primal owner, Mike, so he was the first person we called when it was clear our new dog was traumatized and completely untrained. He hooked us up with Jess and I couldn't be more grateful and impressed. Jess was as patient with me as with our new dog, Ty. I typically feel like an idiot trying to get the training techniques down but she was patient and helped me and Ty build confidence training together. After 8 private lessons, a dog who for 2 months would not come inside and would not let me put a leash on him is now going for walks, can sit, lay down, and stay in place on command. With Jess' guidance, I am now crate training him and prepping him to join group classes. I love her calm yet confident demeanor and will never not be amazed at her ability to get my giant feral pup to learn things fast. He's now well on his way to being a well-behaved, affectionate member of our family, and just getting started on his training journey. Thank you so much Primal Canine and Jess!

This is an emergency room. When was the last time you went to a human emergency room and didn't have to wait more than two hours? The only cases that don't have to wait two hours come by ambulance. This place is utterly amazing. The staff is super professional. They take care of everybody wonderfully and yes, just like all medical whether animal or human, they are desperately understaffed. Let's give a big shout out to these amazing caring professionals Dr. Macy Dr. Akol, Dr. nicki Dr. Lahue, Dr. Kalff Dr Pressel all the doctors I forgot and the best nurses in the entire world. I've been coming here for over 30 years and only receive the best, most attentive, kindest and gracious of care. Folks need to understand how long things take and what the word triage means. I am disgusted reading one star reviews from people with no concept of how much time good thorough animal care takes and how much things cost. An estimate is an estimate they have only ever charged me for what was needed. They are utter professionals, a very highly regarded facility and quite frankly all you people that are sending in one star reviews don't deserve their service or care. People in this field go into this field because they care - more than most- and they deal with and see a lot of really hard situations on a daily basis. Every time my husband and I have been here (with at least four different pets through the last 10-15 years ranging from mild to very serious) the care and veterinary expertise has been very good. I'm grateful for that! I hope they can get the support they need so they can help our communities' fur family members effectively and efficiently.

I cannot begin to explain the amount of empathy and care their team gave to my entire family in this process. Since our baby was 100+ pounds it was hard for my elderly father to help carry him. In response to this their team was waiting for Hopper with a gurney and took over to make the whole process somewhat easier on us. Even being away, they let me do some of the paperwork over the phone so our family did not have to be there longer than they needed to be. My father told me about how exceptional their crew was that night and how much compassion they had for Hopper and our family. If you were working the day of 2/19 around 4AM, your kindness truly touched us and made us feel safe leaving our baby in your hands. I can't begin to thank you enough from the bottom of my heart.

After some initial tests were run, I was informed that, in order to understand why my cat was not eating and was vomiting his food when he did eat, an ultrasound would be needed. Long story short, $2,000 later, I was told that a deeper analysis was required via a biopsy. They did not have any open slots for this procedure for two weeks, and I was going to be on vacation during that time. Dr. Letsinger had prescribed an anti-nausea medication for my pet, but it was only a supply for a few days. She mentioned that if I needed more medication, I should let her know. I went on vacation for two weeks. My pet seemed back to himself again, so I felt comfortable leaving. I called them today, May 2nd, to schedule the second procedure and also let them know that my pet had started showing the same symptoms again. I asked if they could prescribe the anti-nausea medication once more. I was told that the only way they can prescribe a refill is if I bring my pet in again. This feels like a deeply frustrating and unfair policy, and it's difficult not to see it as driven by profit rather than care. I am honestly very disappointed in how this was handled.

Since then we have used Steinbeck Dr D was the first .he was amazing.. he always explained what he needed to do ... then we met most of the other vets Dr "S" was the main person... if she was not available. Now we see the other vets and mostly the are female, no matter what time of the day or night. Years ago one of our horse hot spooked by the ground keeper drove the tractor fast by his stall .. It's 9:00 and Dr " S " came out . The cut was deep he could not walk to a covered barn to treat him... we had a conex we stored hay .. it was empty, she asked could you get him to go inside of the 5-by12 . I said he trusts me .. the 3 of us and a / new vet that joined their team... flash light were no going to do what she needed. She brought new team member, get their truck and point the head lights into the conex. Dr Sarah De Santi was so amazing in rain cold wind doing the secures one by one the horse . It must have been 11;00 he was back in his stall I think the other one was Dr Kalea . Tried to start the truck but the lights been in on so long it would not turn over. Dr Kayla would come out to tube horses when they colic... Star could tell it was a vet driving in to the stables just by the sound of the engine. Dr Carlton has done a few surgeries on our horses as well . Removing cancer on the back side of horses. What is so amazing is that everyone that is on Team Steinbeck, the front office Nicki who seams to know who is were who is available to come in an emergency... forwards calls to someone in the field, gets script refilled by a Vet and has it ready by the end of day to pickup Then the techs that come out with a vet that knows what they need to assist and usually has what they have it in hand as they request it. They are a very professional team ... I know more stories about how great they have been in the past 20 years. You know your horse is in good hands with th Steinbeck Team
