FESTUS LOWE'S SUPPORTS OUR LOCAL VETERANS and they do so continually by donating tons of…read moremerchandise weekly to Midwest Veterans Outreach in Park Hills MO. This act of kindness reaches further than they may realize. You see, the cabinets, tools, fixtures, tile and outdoor furniture that is donated is sold for a fraction of retail to our community. 100% of the proceeds goes back into helping our community- and veterans are having their needs met every day because of this generosity! Things like buying an A/C for a disabled vet, getting medical supplies that aren't covered by insurance, and transportation to medical appointments. Even buying food, help with utilities... Midwest Veterans Outreach provides what's needed because of the support from Festus Lowe's. I live near Farmington Lowe's, but I support the Festus store for this reason. I don't know why they don't support their community, or where their overstock is routed to, but I will continue to patronize the Festus store because of how they care for our community. https://www.facebook.com/Midwestveterans/

I worked in hardware for over 10 years and friendly service was always top priority. Today, I spent a lot of time, combing through the hardware to find the right fasteners that I needed for my project. When I went to check out, the lady at the register said that the considerate thing for me to do would be for me to provide all the stock numbers for the hardware. In my opinion, I'm the paying customer and the employees of Lowes should be happy that I chose their store to shop at. They shouldn't put an employee who is going to struggle to ring loose hardware up at the register. On another point, why does Lowes want to scan my drivers license when I show them my military ID for a military discount? They give me trouble and tell me they can't give me the discount without it but then turn around, push a few buttons and verify my military ID. Lowes has no business with my drivers license. I think I can speak for most men and some women, that it used to be fun to go to the hardware store and do a little impulse buying but Lowes has gotten so greedy that I now buy ONLY what I need and am quick to return anything I don't use, doesn't satisfy me 100% or I find cheaper somewhere else. As a matter of fact, I always check Amazon and compare prices right there in the store. Not a happy customer!

This is a great place to buy, well just about anything. It's like a hardware store, clothing…read morestore, feed store, automotive store home and garden store combined. What more could you ask for? It's located right off hwy 21 in Desoto, so it's easy to find. When I arrived I was looking for a dusk to dawn light, that honestly I wasn't sure if they would have. As I was walking around looking a bit puzzled, I was approached and guided to the proper area to find what I needed. It seems that whatever I need, even as odd as it can be they seem to have it and this location always has a very friendly staff.

As for service - it's hit or miss. I find the folks there to assist with loading, etc., to be very helpful and willing. I find the management to also be willing to help resolve issues, find stock, order things, etc. However, I've generally found the cashier folks to be somewhat less than helpful and often don't seem very well trained. I've had one tell me I couldn't order something off an upcoming truck when I know for a fact I can because I have. As for price - I think this place is pretty competitive. Their base 11 and 12% feed is priced great and is cleaner than most at that price. Their name brand feed and bagged alfalfa is also reasonable. I also found their heated water buckets to be FAR cheaper (for the same model) than on Amazon. Their bulk bird seed is also reasonable and great quality. Lots of selection - We've bought horse feed, chicken feed, dog and cat food, combo panels, Priefert gates, nuts, bolts, dog kennel panels, electric fencing parts, horse halters, lead ropes, tools, work gloves and much more here. They have just about everything you need around the farm. If you're in the area, I'd say stop by and have a look around! Oh, and they also sell clothing and hunting supplies.

Harbor Freight is a great alternative to Lowe's or Home Depot for your tool needs…read more They have a great tool selection & comparable tools to Snap on & Milwaukee, etc. for half the price. I've always had good luck with help when coming in.

They said as long as I have a receipt. Well, it didn't fit so I took it with the receipt back to the store. The cashier had no idea how to process my return so she called the prestigious "supervisor" Lane. Well Lane tried twice and failed. When I asserted myself and insisted he find away to refund my purchase, he got verbally angry. I asked to talk to his manager and he said he couldn't give me that number. I asked him to call and he refused. Instead he tried to call customer service, but he was like 20 in line. I told him I had no intention to wait that long. I explained the many purchase's I've made but from Harbor Freight and that this would likely be my last. He didn't care and told me so. On my way out he made some very sarcastic "have a nice day" and "hope your day gets better" comments. They were obvious insults. I can't believe they are so ignorant of their return procedures. I'm so glad Norther Tool is right up the road. Next time I buy generators for my job sites, it won't be from Harbor Freight.
