When I walked in, it was empty which was amazing. I filled out the form and provided cards and they called me in the room for weight and height. Then they put us in a room. They brought the activity cube with us to keep him calm. The PA came in very quickly. She even went to the car to get her own tool to check his ears because the one on the wall can not reach the floor. We were in and out extremely fast. Originally, my prescription was for 1 1/2 pills, which meant I had to split a pill each day. At my last routine physical, I mentioned to Dr. Kastl that I had been taking 2 pills instead because it wasn't always convenient to cut them, and the difference in dosage was minimal. She agreed and officially changed my prescription to 2 pills. Six months later, when I requested a refill, I was told I had to schedule a medication check before it would be approved. I scheduled and attended the appointment, which lasted about five minutes and involved no meaningful discussion or changes to my treatment. The following week, I received a $150 bill for that brief visit. I contacted Dr. Kastl multiple times to express my concern and pointed out that, based on my understanding of Michigan law and federal guidelines, the medication I take does not require a mandatory six-month follow-up. Rather than acknowledging my concerns or showing any empathy, my messages were dismissed by simply stating "it's our policy". In this situation, patient care took a back seat to billing. After being a loyal patient for years, I was extremely disappointed by how this was handled. I will not be returning to this practice and would encourage others to carefully consider their options when choosing a primary care provider.

I was there at 7:30 for a…read more7:40 appointment. the office buildiby didn't even open untiil 8:00 5 couples (10) people waited in their cars and outside in the parking lot as well as the doorway to even enter the building. the doctor was so behind and rushed he pushed my procedure through in a half hour and didn't even complete the task. Said I needed to reschedule. I starved for 24 hours and took all sorts of laxatives enemas and did everything as directed verbatim. I missed a day of work and had to pay someone to drive me all for nothing. I'm extremely upset with these people, I have a life too. I would rate zero stars if I could. I hadn't even made it to the office to meet any providers recommended to me by my PCP, who told me at the time the doctor was the best in the area and specialized in the field . I had almost forgotten to leave my honest review this week but I believe it deserves to be said that after playing phone tag for three days, having my appointment rescheduled with out my permission or confirmation I had to beg to speak to the office manager Lisa-who is about as condescending as the people who work for her. What is best for the scheduling staff is what dictates when you will be seen and who you will be seeing for any life threatening procedures. Luckily after letting my general physician know of how I had been treated, I was able to a schedule to meet with a qualified surgeon who likely has less years of experience but is readily available to meet with someone who according to Lisa, doesn't present enough of an emergency for the surgeon to consult with. Lisa and her staff prevented me from meeting with Dr.McIntosh and his esteemed colleague Dr.Martinovski. When I worked as an assistant in a providers office back when I was in my early twenties, telling a patient that they will be seen when it is 'best for the office staff' or dictating who and when they should see the doctor...would get me fired on the spot. These providers happen to be surgeons and provide life saving care for the local community and based on a few bad interactions with their dispensable staff likely drives business away and mars the rapport between patients and practice. I can't imagine how disorganized the clerical staff is after having experienced their sheer disregard for my health. Who's to know how the quality of medical care will be?If you have blue care network ppo or hmo I implore you to not be discouraged - don't play phone tag and make sure you shop around. There are other practices who hire lots of better quality staff to consult with in the area. To who it may concern, I'm going to be alright thank goodness as someone who needed this procedure done soon - I will be meeting with a surgeon soon! No thanks to James, Lisa or Marina. Go ahead and try to sched an appt - the staff won't soon improve the quality of customer service they provide and I can only imagine what billing services is like after the fact.
