My husband picked up my sample contact lenses, nobody could tell him which contact was for which eye and when I've tried to call them to get the information no one answers the phone. This review is ONLY about the retail frame department, not the medical side. Tri-Century optical department in Southampton is by far the WORST place to purchase eye glasses I have ever been to. I wish yelp had an option for No Stars. One star is TOO generous. I have bought frames from some of the most high end boutique stores in the country from LA to Las Vegas to Scarsdale NY. I decided to get a temporary set after my eye exam to last me until I get back to LA. I'm usually in LA Four times a year. The people working there are rude and have no place in that environment. The man who measured my new frames...hands were shaking so bad, I'm not sure how my glasses will turn out. When I call the store to see if my glasses came in, they are annoyed by calling...if they even answer the phone. If they do answer the phone, which is rare, they say they will call when they come in, but of course they never do. It has been over two weeks, and I'm not sure they were even ordered. Do yourself a favor and DO NOT waste your money at this place. Go anywhere else except Tri-Century optical. read more

There are complaints about this place that I've never personally had happened but I can see how they might as the lady's at the front desk always seem " charged up " but this is a vision place and I believe insurance is difficult so maybe it's just the nature of that business ; again I've never personally had these issues with anything the billing has always been fine, and I left a message on their machine when I was having eye problems the woman not only called me back quickly but also really went to bat trying to find me an appointment at the Trevose facility The nurse is really nice the one who took me back to see the Dr and they fixed the issue I was having with my eye ; I remember the first time I saw Dr Feldman in 2018 she was really good ; now I don't know about the ins and outs of their billing but for eye treatment this place is top notch read more

*************DON'T GO HERE**************** I WOULD HAVE GAVE ZERO STARTS IF I COULD. My child I went to Tri-Century eye one 10.16.24. (We both drove). The Assisitant was getting ready to dilate my childs eyes and I told her no because we were both driving. She said I would get charged for the visit if we didn't get our eyes dilated. I told her I will not pay for anything we both have insurance and if I was going to get billed I would reschedule. She left the room to find out what to do. She came back and said ok lets see what happens. I reiterated to her that if I receive a bill I will not pay it. She said ok and contintued with our appointments. A couple days later I get a bill in the mail for both of us dated 11.17.24. I called my insurance company who stated they never received a bill. My insurance company contacted the billing part of the office and stated that I didn't need to be dilated to be covered. They stated they will NOT bill the insurance without dilation. I called fthe office and told them my insurance would cover it and they stated to me that the insurance will not pay for it if I didn't get dilated. I told her she was lying because I have already contacted my insurance company and they stated they would. My child is on Medical Assistance which by law they can not bill the patient. I know this from working in the insurance feild. The manager of the billing department tried to tell me different. I contacted her insurance and they told me the what I told the billing manager. So once again they lied. The REFUSE to bill the insurance company and now I am stuck with two bills totaling almost $500. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS PRACTICE TO ANYONE. just got back from a appointment with Dr. Patal. re:my cornea issue. 1. The appointment was no more than 5 min. 2. He had no idea what eye drops he put me on and what I was taking. 3 Asked if I brought eye drops with me., 4. He covered himself by saying keep doing what your doing. 5. He had absolutely no idea what eye drops he put me on or what he prescribed. 6. First thing he asked me was I ever there before? this was the third time I was there. 7. He had no idea who I was what drops he Prescribed or what was going on. 8. The visit was a complete waste of my time. 9. He said I could do something about my Cornea issue when I had trouble seeing! 10. OMG I am still laughing! The only positive thing was he did smell good. read more

5 stars for Dr Goldstein, I had my eyelids done and he was thorough and answered all my questions. A droopy eyelid is no joke and it looks amazing now. He is a perfectionist and it was a easy out patient surgery, and they called and checked up on me two days in a row. I will not return to this very unorganized Southampton office. Wait times are horrible. Billing is a mess. No one answers the phones. if you have a question leave a message and someone may get back to you the next day. My Dr was stressed. it was impossible to try and get the $75 rebate on my contacts that they sold me. My husband recently had cataract surgery and the billing is a nightmare. still getting several bills 6 mo later. Thankfully Dr Gordon is a great surgeon and that went well. After care was a mess though. This place is so overwhelmed. I will be going back to my previous Dr even though it's a distance. read more

I've been coming here for a couple of years. I had eye surgery at Will's Eye Center in Philly. Now, they were extremely competent and did a great job. But getting into the city and parking is very tough. I found Tri County, right in my neighborhood...and Scott Goldstein, MD actually does some work for Will's. He is an excellent Physician and a real good guy, too. Great bedside manner as well. Staff is friendly and accommodating...thorough eye exam and follow through. read more

If you have an issue with your eyes, Tri County Eye, specifically Dr. Kuryan, is the place to go. I had a recurrent corneal abrasion and sought care elsewhere and they were not efficient and quick in their work up. Once I came to Tri County Eye, Dr. Kuryan was able to quickly treat the corneal abrasion with only a few office visits. I've had no issues since and Dr. Kuryan educated me on preventative measures to maintain good eye health. Even through COVID, Tri County Eye took necessary precautions and even had us wait in our car to adequately maintain social distancing protocol. Highly recommend Dr. Kuryan for any issues with your eyes, you'll be in good hands. read more

The nurses and receptionists will ignore you until they absolutely have to deal with you. They dont return calls of a sensitive nature and are overall rude to customers on the phone. read more

Everyone gives good ratings about Dr. Menacker but we had horrible experiences. My children have had to wait 1-2 hours before each appointment and one of them needs to be seen more often due to eye issues. Other kids are crying in the waiting room because they've been there just as long. She is very moody and everyone is on edge when she is working, probably because they have to listen to all the crying and parent complaints. We were there on days when she isn't working and the staff is much more relaxed and friendly and the other pediatric doctors are much quicker and have a better bedside manner. As for the staff, they make a lot of errors and aren't very friendly. We switched practices and are much happier. read more

So I drive over to the place and walked in to contact area and the girl was sitting at her desk and I asked if her phone was broken ....she said no and she asked me if I left my name for a callback ??? I said no I don't want to wait two days . I asked her if she answers the phone and she said if I'm sitting here , we'll I called right before I walked in the door ! This review does not in anyway reflect the quality of the doctors at Tri County. Their level of expertise is the best in the area. I'm reviewing the staff. Specifically a receptionist that chose to THROW MY SON's INSURANCE CARD AT ME. I was having an issue having my son's Chip. (Who doesn't). I made arrangements with the billing department before I came in that the referral would be back dated and the insurance would be reinstated with in couple days. This receptionist was completely out of line. She read the notes out loud and it SAID THE REFERRAL WAS BEING BACK DATED. I was leaving a personal check in case it was longer to reinstate then anticipated. Not only are we ESTABLISHED PATIENTS, but this woman tore me down from front to back. She took it to a personal level. I was completely cool until she started throwing things at me. I looked directly at my husband and my child whom was playing in the distance. That was it- I've had enough. I let that woman have my crazy. As well as another woman who wore a black short MOP on her head. They escorted us to the back because I am crazy and I don't have my filter on any longer. "Black mop head" was in my personal space. She was so close to myself telling me to calm down. WHT? Who tells an irate crazy woman to calm down. I simply advised her "walk away from me". Well "black mop head" didn't like that answer and chose to talk to me like a child. What she didn't know is that I was holding in my laughter. What an idiot. Cut that shit on your head and someone may take you serious. The doctor was amazing as always. We Love her dearly. See her in another office. Unless you have an emergency. Then go to PEARL VISION ON STREET ROAD AND YORK ROAD. The new doctor there is amazing. I have enclosed a picture of "crazy receptionist." But you will absolutely know mob head when you see her. She'll be close enough to make out with you when she talks and spits on you. This used to be a wonderful medical facility. However, the non medical staff have ruined this practice since the Vantage conglomerate has taken over. A human does not pick up the phone when you call to make an appointment. You have to go through multiple layers of a phone menu, press 1, press 2, etc. before you get to the right department and then no one answers the phone or else your call is disconnected before you can leave a message. There is a patient portal to send an email. Again, there is no response. The front desk is not very helpful when you appear in person to make an appointment because you can't get anyone on the phone. I just received a phone call from the office manager 7 days after the poor office response. I had my husband hand deliver, yesterday, a release of information form because I have a new eye doctor. The manager had the nerve to tell me that there is a $20 charge to send my records to the new eye doctor. This practice has become too, too big to provide good service. Go elsewhere. read more

I've been taking to my daughter to Tri-County Optical for a little over a year. I can't say enough good things about the practice! My daughter sees Dr. Menecker and she is so wonderful with children! My daughter was a toddler at her first visit. The initial eval was lengthy, we were there close to 3 hours - which I had not expected. While I was a bit disappointed that I hadn't been informed how long a first visit would be, I was also pleased that they were so thorough in their assessment. And even though we were there a long time, there was plenty to keep her entertained. While others have given office staff bad reviews, I have always had pleasant encounters. And the doctors and medical staff are great at making children feel relaxed (and at explaining to me what is going on). They also have Physicians Optical on site, so it is an easy one-stop to order glasses as well. The staff there has been very friendly in helping me select (and replace!) my daughters glasses when needed. I wouldn't go anywhere else. read more

The 2 times that I have dealt with Tri-County, the billing department sends me stupid letters that they have billed me on multiple occasions and my account is now in default when in fact this is the first letter I have received. I am not usually one to post bad reviews about businesses but I had a terrible experience here. They brought me in as an emergency, only to tell me that there was no problem with my eye, and the symptoms I had were common and happen to a lot of people. The doctor did not even want to do an actual check up, he only looked into it after he saw how upset I was with his response. All he had to say is that there is nothing he can do about it and that it will go away on its own. I left work early, paid them a $50 co-pay for nothing. They clearly just wanted my money. Customer service was extremely rude to me when I complained. The supervisor, Nina, was even yelling at me on the phone. I like the docs here at the New Britain office, and have always had great service and care for both myself and my kids. The staff here however leaves a lot to be desired and I am reminded of this every time I come in. They are snooty. They don't greet you when you come in or even acknowledge you. They're always chatting with each other or on the phone. I asked to check in and the one lady snootily told me about their online scanner to do that. Geez, sorry to bother you. BEWARE of this practice. Not once, but TWICE, i visited the office in New Britain, each time for a different reason. BOTH times, the visits cost me WAY more than they should have, considering they are a Tier 1 provider on my plan. The first service was good, but costly, as they provided services that were not covered fully by my insurance and did not advise me of this. The second service was HORRENDOUS. I asked for a consult with one of the specialists for a condition I needed treatment for, but instead, unbeknownst to me until i arrived, they scheduled me for a routine eye exam. Because i was under the impression that I was seeing a specialist, I gave them my medical insurance. But because it was routine eye work, the medical coverage was declined. Since i had already had my routine exam for the year, the eye insurance wouldn't cover it. I am now left with a huge bill for the WRONG service, which i didn't even need. I asked, begged, and complained to them, but they were unconcerned about how their error impacted me. STAY AWAY read more

Our son has congenital ptosis and we have been taking him to Tri-County Eye since he was a baby (he is now 5yo). Every time we went there we felt rushed by the doctor, but the last time was awful. We went to this appointment to discuss details of his surgery. The doctor spent 5 min with us (or even less) and with one foot already out the door he asked "do you have any questions?". Overall: Facilities: A-, Examiner: A+, Front desk staff: C, Back desk staff and technicians: A+ The GOOD: I took my 3 and 5 year old here for the first time about 2 weeks ago. Initially I had to make two separate appointments (and this was back in December) because of the lack of appointment slots. I brought both kids' to my 3 year old's appointment and thankfully I was able to have them both seen that day. Once Dr. Sheryl Menacker realized I would have to bring my 5 year old back the next day, she and her technicians reviewed the schedule several times to see if any adjustments could be made. Very appreciative! Dr. Sheryl Menacker was AWESOME! It felt as if we had been her patient for years. I have not seen such good pediatric bedside manner in such a long time! The exam room was clean and calm and the tools used were state of the art. I had been a long time patient of the Eye Institute of Philadelphia and choose this facility instead to avoid the long wait times and students prodding about the patient's eye. Suffice to say the wait times were average and the exam thorough. There was an issue with coding the procedures for billing purposes (I have medical and supplemental vision insurance) and the back desk staff and technicians worked diligently and patiently to make sure the services were coded correctly. The BAD: The front desk staff needs a lesson in customer service. There are 2 or 3 check in kiosks when you walk in. As a reference, they are not as big or obvious as the ones at CHOP in downtown Philly. After a bit I was like, oh maybe I should check in here. Still, there is someone at CHOP that directs you to check in at the kiosk and will standby if you need assistance. When I walked in I went straight to the front desk and had to wait to be acknowledge. One of the attendants looked at me then continued her conversation. There were four women at the front. Three just chatting about life and one rudely attended to another customer. As I started to walk to the kiosk, one of them finally said oh you check in over there. When I initially arrived at my appointment, my 3 year old was asleep in my arms. While I am used to juggling two kids (even if one is asleep) I was super appreciative that a technician who happened to be walking by stopped to help me at the kiosk since my hands were literally full. She even said she had no idea how to use it since she is used to assisting the doctor in the exam rooms, but if I need her she would be there to direct me. The office staff are friendly. The office is very large and has nice decor and even has wi-fi access! There is an area in the corner with toys mounted to the wall, which was great for my daughter to play with while we were waiting. We saw Dr.Menacker and she was excellent. Very thorough, gentle, and kind. She was great at explaining everything as well. read more
