Update to my last review. We tried the place again. This time we went in on Monday, Labor Day. The place was pretty busy but we were able to get a table as soon as we walked in. We were brought chips and salsa right away and our drink order was taken and delivered in a timely manner. This time I ordered a margarita as suggested during our last visit. The margarita tasted good and was nicely balanced. We should have stopped there. The chips were stale. The bean dip is runny and flavorless. The salsa tastes good and has a nice kick to it. I ordered a taco, enchilada and tamale. The meat on the taco tasted like the only seasoning was salt. I only took one bite because it was too salty. The taco shell was fresh though and not stale like the chips. The tamale and enchilada were ok but nothing special. My son had a burrito and said it lacked flavor. He did not eat the whole burrito nor was he interested in taking it home. The food here does not taste like its made from scratch. It tastes like it comes from a can. Once again, the service was horrible. Our waitress was slow and inattentive. When she finally came to take our order, about 15 minutes after we were seated, we told her we were getting ready to walk out. She just smiled and laughed and asked us what we wanted. The food wasn't worth staying. We should have walked out. This is just another Cheyenne restaurant not worth of your time and money. Another disappointment. Cheyenne really lacks any quality restaurants. The margarita here was good but that was it. Service and food are seriously lacking. Needless to say, we won't be back. read more

Two places in Cheyenne, and we prefer the one on the East of town next to Interstate-25 North (West on Lincolnway). Amazing lunch specials, great service, good seating for groups, great atmosphere! And their pre-meal chips and accompaniments includes a Mushroom salsa which is wonderful (as are the beans, and salsa). Their in-town location requires people to park behind the restaurant and cross a small road to enter from the back. It's the same food, not as good/prompt service during busy times, and in winter when the back door opens, it shoots wind the full length of the customer seating (which is long and narrow). Five stars on the West location...Four stars on the in-town. read more

Amazing food off the beaten path in Cheyenne! We were so hungry and everything down town had a line. Their dips were the best Ive ever had and the service was great. They weren't that busy which means people don't know this place is this good! It looks like a little hole in the wall from the outside but I promise you won't be disappointed! Stopped in for dinner and I must say, this place is exceptional! I had the molcajete and it knocked my socks off with flavor. The dish came out bubbling hot and delicious. Nice to have a new place to try. Food has pretty good flavor and good prices. Guacamole didn't have jalapeños but it was very spicy, enough that two of our party didn't finish their meal. Bean dip was also a little spicy. Chicken enchiladas were great. The sour cream sauce was better than most but a little heavy on the sour cream. Server was great: attentive and easy to interact with. The mushroom salsa, I need to figure out how to recreate, as it's excellent and unusual. The restaurant is convenient to the hotels on the west side of the train tracks (away from downtown), which is worth noting if you've sat through several trains already. It's large and cheerful. The food is what I expect when I go out looking for a nice comforting squishy enchilada. Go whole hog and get the tri-color plate, where the green is spicy (telling me that I'm back in the West!), the red is red, and the white is probably cheese. Both the meat and the sauces have actual flavors, thus satisfying my usual concern with mid-range Mexican food. The chips were warm. The red salsa was mild; the bean dip was bean dip. This one is not likely to blow your mind, but it'll fill your stomach very pleasantly. read more

Most of the food listed is your standard Mexican food. Similar to all other chain restaurants. They do serve a pico de gallo with mushrooms along with refried beans which is different put good. Wow, this place is aaaaamazing! I'm from California where we have the most incredible, authentic Mexican food, so I'm a bit picky and Tres Amigo blew me away! It is give honestly the best I've ever had! I haven't had a dish I didn't like and their meats are amazing- highly recommend their pastor, it's DELISH! And the chipotle enchilada and chille relleno are incredible, along with the flautas and quesadilla (with any meat). On top of the food, the staff are AMAZING & made the experience that much better! I went here for lunch on a Saturday and it wasn't very crowded. The mushroom salsa that they brought out with our chips was so delicious! I had the chicken sopes and my husband had the pollo rellanos and both were so good. Also, the michelados are now my favorite in town. We are locals and went to the Del range location. The steak in my fajitas was as tough as my shoe and tasted like old beef.
