Weird interaction with the "owner" who showed up at my front door a few weeks after doing some…read moreminor work for us (~$250). The work they did was fine -- no issues there. Today, he showed up without a phone call, uniform, business card, or any other item to identify him as associated with the business in a non-company vehicle and wanted my credit card number because the number they "wrote down" at time of service wouldn't run through. At the time of service, I specifically asked the technician if they shred the paper that he had multiple credit card numbers on, which he said "yes". Today, the owner digs through multiple unsecured text messages on his personal cell phone and shows me my credit card number (fortunately with typos in it), the expiration date, and the security code from the back. When I told him that I wasn't comfortable just giving out my CC to some random guy at the front door and informed him that this is an unacceptable and insecure manner of storing and transmitting customers' CC info, he assured me that they've been doing it this way for years and that he is "the biggest Christian in the world...and it would only be a problem if somebody else got ahold of [his] phone." He would not comprehend or acknowledge that he had numerous customers' CC stored in this unsafe manner (also like stored on iCloud, too), which was a bit scary. I told him to send an official invoice and I will happily pay the outstanding balance expeditiously then, at which point he finally left my house. While their electrical work may be adequate, I would be very leery of using this company unless you are okay with them maintaining your financial tools and what-should-be-secure information in a dangerously haphazard manner.

The service technician showed up right on time. I showed him what needed to be done (outdoor 120V panel removed and replaced with 240V service panel for the hot tub) and I got a firm upfront price (parts and labor) straight out of his service binder. No surprises. Since he was already here, I showed him another minor job I had been putting off (replacing the security light high ankle my garage). Again he gave me a firm price (labor only) or if his binder. I would supply the security light myself. So while he ran to the store to get the parts to replace the 120V panel, zi went to Lowe's to pick out and purchase the security light I wanted (motion-activated). When I returned home 30 minutes later, he was already working on the panel outside. I gave him the security light and he was done with everything in about 20 minutes. I would definitely use Copper Ridge again for my electrical or plumbing needs.
