I left a voicemail 3 days before my appointment and received a text letting me know that if I canceled, I'd be charged my full appointment fee (around $500) since it was within two weeks of my appointment. While nothing about a 2-week cancellation policy was posted on personal or business socials or website, I decided to keep the appointment to avoid my card being charged. I got a call from the salon two days later letting me know that Salem (my stylist and also the owner) went into labor and couldn't keep our appointment for the next day, which was completely fine with me because I obviously would never expect her to keep my appointment while she was in labor, and I'd originally wanted to cancel anyway. Another stylist said that either herself or another stylist at the salon (neither of which were fully certified in extensions) could take my appointment for a 25% discount if I wanted. I said I was fine with cancelling and asked for confirmation that I wouldn't be charged a fee given the circumstances. The other stylist said she didn't know and that she'd have to check with Salem. I told her I didn't feel comfortable paying a cancellation fee for an appointment that ultimately, I didn't cancel, but to please not bother Salem while she was in labor, and she responded saying "it's fine, she's still working and answering messages." We even laughed about it because of course she was still working and answering messages while in active labor. The stylist called me back, told me there was no cancellation fee and that all my future appointments were cancelled. I did let the stylist know I thought the 2 week cancellation policy was ridiculous but I was not mean, nasty, rude, demanding, nor disrespectful on the phone with her. I got a DM from Salem not even an hour later basically saying everything the other stylist said to me: That she wouldn't charge me a cancellation fee but that she agreed it was best we part ways ( like stated, I had cancelled all my future appointments during the call earlier since I was moving and had already been speaking with/found a new salon where I would be). The tone of her message was weird, but everything was resolved, so I let it go. Fast forward over 6 months later to this week, and a TikTok from Bloom Studio/Salem popped up on my FYP. It has screenshots of her last message to me and pictures of her in the hospital after giving birth, and a caption saying "sometimes you just have to fire your client and go about your day. It's crazy work to be difficult when your stylist is 9 months pregnant. It's even crazier work to be difficult when she goes into labor 2 weeks early & is rushed to the hospital. GIRL BYE. Don't let the door hit ya where the good Lord split ya." The caption, pictures, and Salem's responses to the comments make it seem like I was upset that she couldn't keep my appointment even though she was in labor, or that I demanded the receptionist reach out to her, which was obviously not the case. I then found that she also posted something similar on Instagram, this time with video of me from one of my previous appointments, which was posted without my knowledge. Both of these were posted within the last 2 weeks, months after all of this happened. I had never posted about any of this on socials or left any reviews until now. It's been disturbing to find out that a salon I went to for months and spent thousands of dollars on extensions would bring up an already resolved situation months after the fact and completely misrepresent what happened. We've had no contact since then and like I said, I never posted anything about this until all of this surfaced. I can only assume it's for increased engagement on her socials. I'd always had good experiences with Salem in the past, so I'm completely blindsided by how she's chosen to handle this. There are similar stories in other reviews that show a pattern of overreaction, dishonesty, and aggression towards clients. Steer clear of this salon if you don't want videos and a fabricated story about you to end up on social media.

She knows how to create dimension, richness, and tones that feel elevated but still natural. My hair always looks (and feels) healthy and intentional when she is finished with it. She is very professional and pays attention to what you want and not what she thinks looks good (so many Stylists do that!). I finally needed a color change after two years of a reddish brown color that I was so sick of and Ceara was able to give me a warm brown that toned down the red tint that I didn't like. I absolutely love my cut and color! My hair hasn't felt this healthy in a long time. After following her advice of getting trims every 6 weeks, my hair is finally keeping it's length and growing. She also does a few of my friends extensions-- they look amazing and so natural! It is unfortunately and heart breaking that I am writing this review. On July 24th, I had an…read moreappointment and paid a deposit for my stylist to order hair extensions. My extension appointment was scheduled for August 7th at 11:00 a.m. On the evening of August 6th, I received a text from my stylist telling me that my extensions had not arrived. When I asked why, I was told by both my stylist and the "owner"/manager that there was an issue at the factory. I was then told my extensions would arrive by noon on Saturday. Saturday came, and I heard nothing. I reached out to both of them myself, only to find out that the extensions had, once again, not arrived. At that point, I began asking what the backup plan was. It wasn't until I became more persistent with my questions that a backup plan was discussed. I also asked why, during the approximately two weeks since I paid my deposit, no one had noticed there was a problem with the order or contacted me sooner. During this conversation, my stylist told me she had a lot going on and that my questions were taking time away from her family. As a longtime client who was simply trying to find out what happened to an order I had paid a deposit on, I found that response incredibly upsetting. When I contacted the "owner"/manager, one of the responses I received was: "What would you like to do about it? We don't have hair to put in your head yet. I wish this *factory* issue was in my control, but it's not. I'm happy to refund your deposit. That's not gonna get hair in your head though. Let me know if you have any ideas." My concern was that developing a Plan B for a service the salon had scheduled should not have been my responsibility. My stylist later mentioned that my extensions had been overnighted. That made me question the explanation I had been given about a factory issue. I brought that concern to the "owner"/manager and said I was beginning to feel that perhaps the extensions had simply not been ordered when they were supposed to be. I was assured that was not what happened. So I did my own research. I located the company representative/distributor through which the products are purchased and contacted them myself. According to the information I received, there was no factory issue causing this delay. I was told my extensions were ordered on August 7th--the actual day of my scheduled installation appointment. That is ultimately what upset me the most. Mistakes happen. Had someone simply said, "We forgot to order your hair. We are incredibly sorry, and here is what we are going to do to fix it," I would have been disappointed and probably annoyed, but I could have respected the honesty. Instead, I feel I was repeatedly given an explanation that did not match the information I later obtained myself. The extensions eventually arrived at Zee's. At that point, because my trust had been damaged, I asked if I could purchase the hair and take it to another salon for installation. They refused. I also learned that the price Zee's was charging me for these particular extensions was approximately $150 more than the price I was quoted elsewhere( exact same hair/ brand etc ) I wish I had researched and compared pricing beforehand, and I would encourage anyone considering extensions--or any expensive salon service--to do the same. What makes this situation especially painful is that this was not simply a salon I had visited a few times. I had been a client for 15 years. I considered these people friends. The "owner"/manager herself referred to me as a friend during these conversations. She attended my wedding, has watched my child grow up, and over the years our conversations went far beyond hair. I asked for an apology. I received silence. I even offered to resolve the situation privately and move on if they would allow me to purchase the extensions and have them installed elsewhere. They still refused. I will also acknowledge my own part: as this situation continued and I felt I was not getting truthful answers, there were times when I became frustrated and my messages were not as nice as they could have been. I own that. But I was asking questions because I had paid a deposit, had an appointment scheduled, and the explanations I was receiving were not adding up. I have retained the texts, screenshots, dates, and other documentation related to this experience. After 15 years of loyalty, I never imagined I would be writing this review. The original mistake--forgetting to place an order--would have been forgivable to me. The lack of honesty, the way my questions were handled, and ultimately receiving no apology are what ended a 15-year relationship with this salon. If this is how a longtime client and someone they considered a "friend" can be treated when something goes wrong, I think prospective clients deserve to know about my experience. What a disappointment.

Last visit was right after they reopened after covid. I arrived a few minutes before my appt and two Winnebago where at the door putting on mask. After I went tu the door and saw sub saying tu call from car so I did. Ketiesa came out a few minutes later and was upset that I was 5 minutes late. Her station was in middle of the floor with no mirror in front of me. She cut an inverted bob like I had been getting cut for over a year. Twice she had to go to her regular station and then took a phone call. After she was done handed me a mirror to look at the back. I got home and saw that one side was about 2 inches shorter in front than the other side. I called her and sent her pictures. She said she would even it out but I didn't want the front that short. I told her that and asked if she would give me free cut next time and she said no would only fix it. So I had to wear it like that by putting short side behind my ear until it grew out. She didn't wash my hair or used any products at all and spent 20 minutes with me less the 3 times she left for some reason. I paid $72 for this awful haircut and haven't been back there since then.
