This place is a hidden gem! If you have a wine lover you're shopping for, take a look! Great and fun selection of whimsical wine glasses and wines. I was actually on the hunt for a Christmas tree and stopped by on a whim. The selection of Christmas trees was a little sparse but I expected that, getting a tree so late in the season. I still did find a great one which they netted and helped tie to the car. The store itself was absolutely adorable with an extensive selection of beautiful garden tchotchkes. The thing I absolutely loved was different sections showcasing locally made products. There is a wine section for local wineries and a selection of local beers. Also, drink while you shop! There was also a section with various limbs from trees to buy for DIY wreaths. I called and asked for topsoil. They delivered clay mixed with compost. I called to complain and they said, "this is topsoil." I got topsoil from another company who asked, "Why did you put all this clay here?" Company #2 just laughed when I said, "Trees, Shrubs and More calls this topsoil. " Today I called and said, I want to give you a chance to address my concerns before I post a negative review. I asked for a manager and they gave me Connie who said, "They should have told you it was clay". I said, "They didn't." "She said, "Why are you just calling now, two weeks later.?" I told her that I called the day of delivery." She said that nobody told her. I said that I was calling to give them an opportunity to address my concerns before I posted a negative review. She said that she wouldn't respond just because I was threatening a negative review. I think what most offended me was that she implied several times that I was telling a lie or being dishonest. Too bad. I prefer supporting local business -- partly because they are often honest and have good customer service. :(. read more

Let me start by saying I have shopped here for 10 years! The outside garden employees are fantastic and are very knowledgeable. Now, I am hoping this is a one time experience...management do better. Value your customers especially when they are paying more to shop for a local product. This place is a great way to spend a fall day. In addition to the landscaping things for purchase, which I need admit I didn't really look at. They are an orchard with TONS of dwarf apple trees with many different flavors. The staff that work here are as sweet as can be. At the farmers market, last year, she would give me a free apple every time she saw me and was so helpful when I came to buy apples. You can save a HECK of a lot of money coming here. I go at least once a year now to purchase a box of apples for about $50. Expensive you say? No not really, considering I weighed my last box and got almost 60 pounds of apples for less than $1.00 a pound. If you're not into buying that much they do sell apples for $2.00lbs, slightly more expensive than the grocery store, but folks I promise you won't have a quality apple like this from the grocery store. I was able to make a year supply of applesauce, juice, and apple powder for $50. Heck of a deal. I brought my foster kids here and thanks to the trees being so short they were able to enjoy picking. My advice to the owners would be to give out little wagons for folks purchasing a big box. Once it gets half full it's hard to carry. By the end we were dragging it. If/when you go, try the candy crisp apples and the cortland. They will blow your mind and thankfully they're almost ready to be picked. Dear mother nature... I am so patiently waiting! read more

Do not buy their "compost soil mix". Its 90% clay and shale mix with just enough visible compost to say they mixed it in. There is 5-6" solid clumps of junk Nebraska clay and shale. read more

Vegan Friendly Family Fun Whether you love apples or are looking for some outside fun, particularly if you have kids or out of town guests, TS&M orchard is a great place to visit!!! Stop inside and they will give you a chart of apple varieties in the orchard and which ones are available for picking. They will give you directions for the short walk to the orchard. I bring several grocery bags so I can segregate my apples by type and then I carry them in a heavier recyclable grocery bag that I don't have weighed as part of the checkout process. The owner is super nice and is happy to give his recommendation on the best apple available for eating or cooking. And if you want them to do the picking, just stop in the store and get your pre-picked apples. Vegans and non-vegans will completely enjoy this cruelty free activity. read more

This place is pretty close to where I live, so I've been in a few times --and every season so far. For the spring/summer, their selection is quite nice; it is an actual nursery so don't come here expecting walmart prices on flowers. Their customer service is pretty keen on helping you find what you need or giving you solid info for gardening/landscaping needs. In the fall they have a great little selction of pumpkins and flowers, also apple picking (which is on my list to do). Their trees are younger looking, but seeing as I drive by everyday-- those trees produce a pretty darn good amount of delicious looking apples. I actually bought my last Christmas tree here-- and was quite happy with my purchase; again it's not Baker's or Walmart-- so their tree selection is pretty diverce and unique. I spent around $60 but I did get a bigger tree- and it smeeled absolutely wonderful. They had quite a few more reasonably priced, and even around the same time; but since this was a speacail "let's go to an actualy tree lot and pick one out together" type of event....being budget conscious wasn't the goal. Inside the store they have alot of cute decor for purchase, local ciders carried year round, and some beer/wine from the local area which I think is pretty cool. I've picked up the raspberry cider and apple-- both are good enough for me to keep going back for purchase a few times a year. Anyway, long story short- this is a great area nursery that's not monster big like Lanoha or Muhalls...and also doesn't have the big nursery price tags either. read more

This is the only gardening place I will ever go to as long as I live in Nebraska! Cool stuff: they sell 6-packs, single beers, and wine there... and they let you drink while you shop. Perfect for when my husband tags along for one of the 13 excursions I've made there since we moved here in March. (You should see my garden, though... baller status) They have free popcorn that you can snack on while you shop, too! The quality of the seeds and starter fruits/veggies is unbeatable. The staff knows everything there is to know about everything, and if they don't know it, they will point you towards someone who does. I was having a problem with a raspberry bush I bought there early in the season, and they told me if it didn't get better after trying their tips within the next month or so, to bring it right back and exchange it for another one. A lady named Sheila gave me her card and told me to come find her personally. Well... I tried her tips (and unwrapped the bush from the rubber bands that had been choking the greenery off) and everything got better. The #1 reason my garden is as great as it is this season is because of the helpful people here. They also have a weigh station, if you ever need to weigh your car (military approved!). read more

Very nice people and they do a good job, HOWEVER, always get a quote! No quote leads to a surprise in your mail box when you get the bill. If possible try to be home the day their scheduled to do the work so you can monitor the little things that make a difference, for example, if a tree is leaning and needs to be turned a different direction or not put in at all in the first place. Again, they do a good job, but was disappointed on the communications that lead me to give them a three rating. Always get a quote! read more

Online it shows they are open until 5pm on Saturday. I even called a few days ago to confirm the time and I was told the orchard closed at 5. I went to pick apples at 4:20. The owner followed me and my family and very rudely told us the orchard closed at 4. I told him I was told my his employee that they closed at 5 and that it shows online 5pm as well. He followed my family and I and sat right next to us and watched us. Every 5 minutes, he told us they were closing. He told us he's doing us a favor by allowing us to take pictures in the orchard since "we aren't buying any apples and aren't giving him any business". I fully intended on buying apples when we were done taking pictures with them. At 4:50, he told my family and I that he turned on the electric fences and we need to leave. We had toddlers in the group. He was completely out of line threatening us and the kids in that way. I've been to the orchard for years and have had great encounters with other staff member. I was completely shocked to find out that was the owner that was treating us so poorly. read more

My daughter and I stopped by to see about purchasing a tree for our parish grounds. The ladies that helped us were exceptionally friendly and helpful. I generally don't purchase a lot of trees from this place but I was very pleased with how they handled our decision. I had asked them if they were on sale and they took off 20% even though there wasn't any signs posted to tell us. When they found out it was for our parish they even took off the sales tax. They made my young daughter feel right at home. They even offered her a free apple of her choice and a bag of popcorn. Everyone who has seen the tree loves it. Great plants and decent selection. Prices are good to very good, depending on what you are looking for. I bought a very nice size spruce on a standard. It was half the price and 30% larger than the same item at some larger area nurseries. Great price on Mulch too. My family and I have been long time customers of Trees, Shrubs & More for many years. We have provided them with our business, not only for our own garden and personal needs but we have used their plants and materials for our landscaping business as well. After our experience today, I am sad to say that we will never return nor recommend them to anyone. We bought a few plants that we potted a couple of weeks ago die....all of them. We dug them up and found our receipt to take in and show that everything we had purchased on our last trip had died. We were treated with such disrespect and disregard by both of the women that we encountered that we left with our jaws dropped vowing to never return. We will take our business elsewhere. read more
