Oh yes, this is not the first time he has abandoned us freedom loving Americans for Africa, he did it once before in the '90s. The restaurant formerly known as Konatas changed ownership many times before it became "Hakins Vegetarian Restaurant". But either way, the owners at Treelion have no intentions of abandoning us gun loving God-fearing Americans for Africa. This my friends is their new location, and it possesses all the delicious meatless grub as their original culinary mecca in Hallandale. For the vegan debutantes out there who are unfamiliar with ital(Jamaican vegan/vegetarianism), Jamaican Ital restaurants won't serve you up three slices of cucumber with tasteless tomato sauce, call it "vegan lasagne" and charge you $15 à la Green Bar Kitchen. Ital restaurants will serve you a hearty meal full of grub, for a very reasonable price. Not only that, but you'll get some of the most flavorful in-house made unique Caribbean drinks you can find, nothing like the stevia flavored blandness you'll find at Wholepaycheck. The service number one was amazing! The person who answered the phone was very helpful the drinks were amazing I got soursop and pineapple ginger both with seamoss gel you couldn't even taste it drinks were fresh, delicious, and nutritious!This was some of the best food I had in my life! The mushroom oyster red curry with sweet plantains brown rice and peas there was also a smaller child's dish that my children loved and cleaned the container. There is also an okra soup in the front that was 10/10! The ambiance is very nice and clean. I will definitely be coming back! read more

I love the food but my God. $21.40 because I wanted a little extra ackee when the ackee fell off the scoop in the first place while it was being scooped. Mind u I never got the rice or the potato. I was told that I would have to pay double. Not even the extra plantain was given since i'm paying for 2 meals. I only have issues at this location when it comes to giving a full scoop and depends on who is serving. Been going to the Hallandale location for years, this one a few months due to change in my job location. All depends on who serves you. read more

First time customer and the son (I think his name is JI) was very helpful, nice and patient. He let us try samples and you guyysss... the tofu chicken... is everything. It taste so similar to chicken and the texture is so meat like I questioned whether I was eating meat. The sauce was delicious. I loved everything, even the pasta. The only thing I didn't really like was the greens, it had no salt at all but when you eat with everything else you don't notice. This place is a beautiful entrance into the world of Ital eating and a vegetarian Rasta eating experience, very clean and fresh food and a great spin on meat dishes that are actually all vegetarian. Great island food and it's vegan! I bought a giant plate (they give you tons of food!) and brought it into work! I told them it was steak and chicken...lol..they loved it and when they found out it was vegan they were shocked! The flavors are there and the juices are so fresh and tasty! I went in here not sure of what to eat. I was at the location in Hallandale years ago when I first got into my vegan journey, it was okay but not memorable. I'm so glad I decided to give it another try I'm not sure if my taste buds are more open now (probably the case) or if the recipes got better either way I was smiling eating. The server convinced me to eat a curried heart of palm and I ate that with Rasta pasta and other provisions. I definitely recommend to everyone who's never tried it, it blew my mind. There's a glass between you and the food, sort of buffet style, and it puts a boring and dull look over the food. When I got my plate in my hand it looked so much more alive! I love to go to this place when I am in the area. The portions sizes and variety of vegan things to choose from are really great. The faux fish has nice texture, flavor, and spiciness. Their apple and ginger juice is really tasty too. The plaza where they are located is shabby but that just helps keep the prices affordable. Simply, the food here is disgusting. It looks like slop, tastes like slop. I was forewarned but I had to see for myself. A key giveaway that the food was subpar was the woman taking my order, received a food delivery from another eatery whilst serving me my slop, i mean food. The food containers they use are cheap and get really wet and soggy. There is no love in their food. I have eaten there 4 times abd each time is more and more disappointing.
