Recommend? If you're in the area. I got the ital stew, the rasta pasta, veggies, [I think] veggie steak, and pine ginger. Everything was delicious in its own right. . The stew has a kick to it. The rasta pasta was refreshing to the palate. The pine ginger was very gingery, as is expected, lol. Don't get it thinking they're going to skimp on that ginger flavor.

I found this vegan restaurant in Miami Gardens area that was open for takeout. I decided to check it out and it didn't disappoint. The food was delicious and ate on it for two days. Please ask the staff what is included in meal portion size before ordering because there are a variety of to select from. I think they do small and large plate options if I remember correctly. I would recommend this restaurant.

There was two, now there's only one. Konata, our vegan master chef in North Miami has once again abandoned us, so he can go rub shoulders with Africans in Ghana. Oh yes, this is not the first time he has abandoned us freedom loving Americans for Africa, he did it once before in the '90s. The restaurant formerly known as Konatas changed ownership many times before it became "Hakins Vegetarian Restaurant". But either way, the owners at Treelion have no intentions of abandoning us gun loving God-fearing Americans for Africa. This my friends is their new location, and it possesses all the delicious meatless grub as their original culinary mecca in Hallandale. For the vegan debutantes out there who are unfamiliar with ital(Jamaican vegan/vegetarianism), Jamaican Ital restaurants won't serve you up three slices of cucumber with tasteless tomato sauce, call it "vegan lasagne" and charge you $15 à la Green Bar Kitchen. Ital restaurants will serve you a hearty meal full of grub, for a very reasonable price. Not only that, but you'll get some of the most flavorful in-house made unique Caribbean drinks you can find, nothing like the stevia flavored blandness you'll find at Wholepaycheck. The in-house made pineapple ginger is my favorite drink at this place!

Great tasting vegan food! Great people working there! Small business with great taste!!

Tofu chicken, brown rice and peas, sweet plantain, butter beans, chick peas and okra, sweet potato, and greens

First time customer and the son (I think his name is JI) was very helpful, nice and patient. He let us try samples and you guyysss... the tofu chicken... is everything. It taste so similar to chicken and the texture is so meat like I questioned whether I was eating meat. The sauce was delicious. I loved everything, even the pasta. The only thing I didn't really like was the greens, it had no salt at all but when you eat with everything else you don't notice. I would definitely recommend this place and I most definitely will return again when I'm in the area.

Omg yummy I love this place took a few bites and had to leave a review, food is amazing... such good vegan steak

First time trying vegan food. One thing I appreciated was the owner providing me with samples of each dish and allowing me to choose what u liked most rather than filling the plate with things I would waste money on. AND also describing what each dish is naturally made from. Pretty good food for my liking.

I was at the location in Hallandale years ago when I first got into my vegan journey, it was okay but not memorable.

Can be on the spicer side for sensitive palettes. Vegan friendly (lots of variety) but also really flavorful meat options. I also enjoyed the oregano tea. There are shareable plates but you can also get your own. I was really impressed with their vegetable lineup that was equally good as a main, not just some side dish. Do be prepared to eat with your hands! But you can also request some silverware. It's a little out of my way, but definitely will be back and worth the trip.

Having said this, I can't begin to tell you how excited I was to find Awash! I happened to be working in No. Miami and as always, no road trip will happen in my life without a laundry list of restaurants to try, and Awash popped up in my search! YAAAAAAAAAAYYYYY!!! I walked in and immediately the scent of butter & berbere wafted over me - causing me immense joy! The restaurant is very homey and unassuming. The staff is LOVELY! So welcoming and warm. I ordered Doro Wot, a small side of Zilzil Wot, Ethiopian salad and a small side of Alicha Wot - and some extra injera for sopping and I was NOT disappointed! Everything was deep, rich, complex and TOTALLY SATIFYING to body and soul. I will DEFINITELY be back - with my Fat Kid elastic waist pants on - to enjoy a sit-down feast!

Apparently this has been there for over a year but I've never heard or seen this place despite being in the plaza several times in the year. I was looking for something different or new. While searching Indian, this came up and the Himalayan aspect peaked my interest. Particularly the momo dumplings being something I've never seen before sold me on this spot. The space is small but spacious, clean and bright. The hostess/waitress was nice and helpful when I asked for recommendations. We ordered the HIMALAYAN THALI SET( FOR TWO) which came with an appetizer, 4 entrées, 2 desserts, naan of your choice and rice. We were told it would take a while to come out because it all comes out at once. We said it was fine and ordered some steamed chicken momo to hold us over till the food came. Our chili paneer app from our set came out and it was quite tasty with a good spice/flavor. Maybe 10ish minutes later our thali set came out. We went with our waitress rec for one veggie (aloo gobi), one chicken (karahi), one lamb (korma), and one seafood (shrimp tikki masala). It came with one bowl of rice for 4 bowls of food. We chose the garlic naan but they had many different more creative options to choose from. The naan was good but not great. The aloo gobi was tasty as was the shrimp tikki masala. The lamb korma sauce was delish but the lamb pieces were a little hit or miss with some tender but others a little harder or dry. Maybe another 10 minutes after our main dishes arrived, the steamed momo arrived. It was tasty and very layered with different flavors that I couldn't quite pinpoint. For dessert we got the kheer and mango kulfi which were unique. Without having a reference point for what a regular entree size is, it's kind of hard to say the cost value in the thali set for two, but if it's your first time and you want to try a a few things, it's probably worth it. I will be back to try the lunch specials next time.
