I received a gift card for Treat & made an appointment for a facial. Jamie was the technician & she was fabulous. Everything used smelled great, and she did some lymphatic drainage that felt wonderful. The spa itself is beautiful and rooms are private and quiet for your service. Absolutely no complaints about service, atmosphere, or value. However, the prices were on a card that came with the gift card; on their website; and under glass at the front desk but I was charged more than advertised. When I asked why, I was told the prices had increased. I was surprised and paid the new price and recalculated the tip based on the new price. I believe if your prices change, your website, anything with prices printed on it, and anything posted on the premises should all be updated immediately when the new prices go into effect. Also, when checking in, it should be mentioned that the prices have increased. I did not think the person at the front desk was professional about the price change at all and looking back I should have politely insisted on paying the advertised price. read more

She explained everything and treated with care! Everything she put on my face smelled so good.. nothing "chemical" smelling at all! Gift shop is super cute and unique. Definitely something for everyone in there. As for skin care... Work and commuting from SB to LA take a toll on my skin. I found Treat through Group-on originally and thought it was an amazing value and just right for the price. Since my initial visit I have been about 5 times. I like that they do Microdermabrasion which is rare in SB. They are quick and efficient as far as the treatment goes without too many frills or extra comforts. Personally, I don't talk much during any treatment- but I do like to be informed on what's going on my face and for how long. Due to sensitivity in my skin, I usually opt out of extractions and decline chemical peels, so it helps to know in advanced if that is what's next- the aestheticians at Treat generally remain silent the entire treatment so I end up having to ask them to remove certain masks containing peeling agents that irritate my skin. I have asked for different add-on ( fully prepared to pay extra) such as steam or moisturizing masks and have always been told no- either due to time restraints or because they just don't offer certain things with certain treatments? I also have asked for extra massage and again turned down due to time - they do not have a massage therapist but the neck and shoulder rub is great. I presume they book their clients back to back so no wiggle room. There is not much ambiance going on. The room is very cold but blankets are available. The lights have always been left on and are far too bright for my taste. I always turn them down when I enter the treatment room but they always end up right back on once I'm lying down. I usually book an express facial because it's all I need for general skin maintenance between seeing my primary aesthetician who is much more receptive to feedback and communicative. Final verdict- gets the Job done, I will continue to go when I need a quick fix for a fair price, but wouldn't go for more than the express . read more

I like the store but I recently bought a powder sunscreen refill that I consider more empty then full... I know they dont come filled to the top but what did I pay for? I think this so wrongly filled... Barely up to the letter "r". I added a pic.The box looks old, ripped a little, was not sealed and now this little amount. I found Treat via Groupon and I must admit I was pleasantly surprised! Treat is nestled away in a darling little shopping center across from the Arlington Theatre. They offer wide range of products - from the usual suspects all the way to some really high quality pharmaceutical-grade skin care lines. Buying this Groupon was truly some of the best money I have spent lately. Myra, my esthetician was wonderful! She provided me with one of the most relaxing neck and shoulder massages and really customized the facial to my skin's needs. She used incredible products on my skin and after my facial my skin was glowing. It still is and I could not be happier! Facials here at regular price seem quite expensive - $120! However, I just found out that they accept Axxess cards, so that helps with the price tag. Also, the hours seem to be a little limited. It would be fantastic if they were open a little later so those that work could get in more easily. Overall, a very enjoyable experience! I will definitely be back again! read more

What a "treat"! Best facial I've had to date. I was vacationing in SB and decided last minute to get a facial. Understandably, most places were booked, but Treat had one opening that same afternoon. Fast forward to my facial: Alice, the owner, was very friendly and informative about skincare. I learned a lot coming out of that facial on improvements on my skincare regimen. It would be a 1 save for the aesthetician is a 3 and the service from owner and some at front is a 0.3 (i like a guy who worked the front - good energy and some staff seem thoughtful and kind but not consistently with the whole team...sorry to say) Supporting local stores, women entrepreneurs (I am one too) is important. I expect local community stores not big chains to be more responsive, compassionate and awake. My experience at check out was far from good. As an owner of a company, i go the extra mile especially for returning customers. It is important to listen and be adaptive and responsive. Look at Elon Musk even with his big company Tesla and how he immediately addressed customer issue around charging stations. Smart, responsive, listened. My daughter and I have been going all year (for some years), we never used our axxess card 25% off and we had two cards. (we could have used once for her and once for me...i was just hoping we could do it once before year end) We showed them the card when we got our first one early in the year after service and they didnt do the 25% off since it was a teen facial. They encouraged me to wait. They noted it on our account so applied the 10% and keeps track of purchases vs their punch card old method. Thus, they could see all year we did NOT use the special 25%. At the end of December, we came in and could not find the one Axxess card my husband carried (he literally misplaced it the day before..) and the other one was in Seattle by mistake.I explained how that happened I had registered the card so could show them that. NOTE: I offered to have it mailed from Seattle to them directly and they could just apply the discount when they got it. NOT AN OPTION. Heck, They could use my card the last week of Dec. I showed them i couldn't come in and rebook and use it twice (a. there system would show. b. i showed that i had a ticket to leave town until into the new year. c. i would not do that period and again it was NOT possible). I asked to be called by the owner who waited about 2-3 weeks to return my call. i had to call a few times to get a response. This was now about the experience of a local community company. Today, i spoke to the owner and praised the things they do well. I shared i am a fellow women entrepreneur and thanked her for taking my call and listening to my concerns. She really had no response but policy policy. It was end of year. She had no response to the offer i had to mail it. It was not about the money but how that could have been handled differently. There were so many options. As a coach to entrepreneurs, i was sorry the learning experience that could have made us feel more loyal has us now feeling we wont return. Disappointed in customer care..and frankly you come here in part for the "care". She didnt have to give us the 25% discount but she certainly could have tried to work with us. Though I'm quite pleased with my regular aesthetician, I was lured in here by a Groupon. Both of my facials were with Myra, and she was a delight. It was a standard facial experience and my skin felt and looked luminescent, but the neck/shoulder massage (which I believe is an additional fee with your average Treat facial) was outstanding - chill city! I would go back just for that. She was super generous with the samples as well. It is a day spa in a glorified strip mall so you will hear quite clearly anything going on outside your room (conversations with other guests, etc). I melted with relaxation into the heated table despite. My one quibble, and this has been my experience with every facial I've ever had so I can't fault Myra, is that my hair is always in peaks and horns after a facial, and at your average day spa there's not so much as comb to attempt to wrangle it back into a presentable shape (although come to think of it, I've never asked for one). For some reason I always forget that my hair is going to stick straight up and usually have somewhere to be after the fact, but it's worth if for the scalp massage. read more

Stopped by for a brazilian and eye brow wax with their esthetician. It seems to be more of a boutique for skincare, hair and body products, but nonetheless my services were done quite well. They took me in early for my appointment and got me out efficiently with a job well done. The esthetician was very friendly and accommodating--she made polite conversation, but was not overly chatty or stark silent (it was a very nice change from previous experiences). I was very pleased with the quality of the waxing service--the esthetician even offered to do a touch up for me a week later when more of the hair grows back--too bad i'll be out of town :(. It was really easy to schedule an appointment and they had the time available I wanted, the only thing I thought was weird was that I didn't get a call the day before confirming the time of my appointment so I was afraid something might have happened to it. They even take credit cards and you can put the tip on that. The front part of the store with all of their retail is very organized and the products seem top of the line. Treat (Alice specifically) is my go-to for eyebrow waxing! I first tried Treat using a Groupon, and have been coming back regularly since. I'm Filipina and Alice can handle my Filipina eyebrows, which is great. I've been to other salons in the SB/ Goleta area and Alice is the best. The staff is also very friendly and accommodating! The 5pm appointments usually go pretty quickly, but I haven't had any trouble with scheduling. Another plus is that there is a parking lot! read more

Alice has been my aesthetician for years now and she's not only amazing at shaping brows but she is also knowledgeable and genuinely cares about her clients skin! She has transformed my skin and I am now someone who just maintains... only wears a mineral powder as my makeup-- before my regimen was primer, concealer, foundation, followed by a powder. I now spend less on my daily makeup regimen and invest on the overall care of my skin. She now takes care of my skin, brows, and my waxing needs and so many of my girlfriends as well-- I have referred her friends and family that were just amazed of my outcome and she is now doing her magic on them. They carry everything you need to turn your own home into a spa: lotions, cleansers, makeup, candles, scented oils, even jewelry. I like showing up early for my appointment so I can browse around. The aestheticians that did the Brazilian was Lauren, and she made me completely uncomfortable and spoke to me in a completely patronizing way. On top of that she did an awful job... She explained what she was doing and the products she used and sent me home with samples. First off, Myra is so sweet! She made the entire experience so wonderful. I went in for a Brazilian and eyebrow wax (the Brazilian being a Groupon and the Eyebrow just for convenience) and she immediately took me in. The room is tiny but all of them are. She talked to me the whole time and let me know when she was close to done. Unfortunately I messed up and my hair wasn't long enough so it wasn't the best wax ever... But that was my fault! I've gotten my eyebrows threaded for the past few years at a place in Palo Alto then moved down to SB and wanted to try a new place. I went in not knowing they were appointment only. She took me back right then though, but the whole time I felt like she was rushing to get it done and after I left and got home I realized the eyebrows were incredibly uneven. I had a very pleasant experience at Treat. Which is hard to imagine considering I went for a Brazilian wax! Lauren was very comforting and mad the process quick and enjoyable as possible. The atmosphere and staff make you feel like your a pampered guest. I have also had makeup done there by Alice and she did a wonderful job. The results made me feel beautiful but still recognizable! So I purchased a Groupon for a two-pack microdermabrasion treatment. The Groupon states that it is a $220 value for $99, and there was also a one-pack including $110 value for $49. I booked the appointment for 9:30am and arrived 10 minutes early. Since the actual store is closed until 10am, you are supposed to sit on a bench outside until the esthetician comes out and brings you back to the treatment room. The esthetician (who I later learned was the owner of Treat) did not come out until 9:37am to get me. Fine, no big deal. The room was average, but the actual treatment seemed very rushed. It seemed like only a couple minutes in that she started performing extractions, and they were quite painful. After the extractions, she put a cream on my face and then she was done. I looked at my phone and the time was 9:56am. So in total, I received 19 minutes of service, which I was very shocked about since one treatment (on the Groupon) was $110 value. I looked at their menu, and the Express Microdermabrasion (30 minutes) is priced at $69 and the Regular Microdermabrasion (60 minutes) is $130. So nowhere does it have a treatment at $110 value. Therefore, the Groupon is completely misleading and the owner couldn't even give a full 30 minute Express Microdermabrasion treatment because she was rushing to open the store at 10am. I felt completely ripped off! The owner of the store should be able to give a full treatment, especially if she wants returning customers. read more
