A party of four of us shared mixed vegetables in satay sauce, black bean sauce, chips and rice. All the food was beautiful, with the satay sauce especially flavoursome and spicy. Excellent portion sizes to boot. A great Chinese takeaway to really enjoy on a lazy Saturday night when you can't be bothered cooking but still want scrumptious treat food. Would highly recommend.

There…read moreare Chinese takeaways that I have reviewed here that I am very unlikely ever to return to; two Monaghan street Chinese takeaways are off my go to list. I got my usual king prawn salted chilli with boiled rice and my wife opted for chicken sweet & sour. The prawn dish was excellent. It was a decent portion and it was well flavour balanced between spice & salt. It did not have the acrid burn from those places on Monaghan Street who use dried chilli from jars and unlike these places there was actual fresh red chilli in the dish. It's hard to believe that many Chinese takeaways in town don't add fresh chilli to spicy dishes but have the cheek to charge top prices. The boiled rice too was perfectly cooked. I did not really like their sweet and sour sauce though as it was like a light vinegary gel really so it needs work. I only noticed as I was leaving that they offered dishes line salt & chilli pork chop available in another Chinese Restaurant just down the street so they must have common ownership.

The restaurant is large enough and can cater for moderate sized groups. The big bonus with this Chinese is the 'Mini Banquet' choice on the menu, where you can keep ordering starters or main courses all night long. Basically an all you can eat. I don't know if anybody ever orders a normal meal off the menu! The staff are just about friendly and can be quite huffy if you are even just a little late for a reservation
