Treasure box is a place that sells simple food such as sandwiches, burgers and soups and they also sells souvenirs inside the store. During my trip to Rocky Harbour, I bought packed lunches for hiking from this place several times. They offer valued food at cheap prices. We've tried the fishcake burger $7, the BLT sandwich $7, the moose pate sandwich $8 and the moose burger $11. Everything was well cooked. My favourite food here is the moose pate sandwich. read more

Yes, about that "breakfast rush"...not over till the bus leaves, I'd say. Thanks to the Yelper who made suggestions, I ordered our food as soon as we found a seat. The food was delicious, hot and fresh. The pancake with berries was very good. So was the bran muffin. I was able to find a locally made apron for my collection, while we waited on our food. As soon as the bus left, we were nearly the only ones left. Friendly stop. They could use more room! read more

Seriously, what a treasure this place is! We stopped in looking for an 11am breakfast, which is I guess hard to find in Rocky Harbour. We were greeted by Boyd, who was so warm and welcoming, it felt like we stepped into his home. The food was fresh and tasty, real home cooking. I LOVED the partidgeberry jam, which they make themselves, and thankfully sell in little mason jars. We also got some moose jerky and squashberry jam, both of which they also make. We went there for lunch. Ordered fish cakes, moose burger and a bakedapple tart. The fish came was delicious. The Moose burger was very unique in taste, most likely because it was the first we had moose meat, but was good as well. The bakedapple tart was perfect in size for a after lunch treat. read more

Showed up here for breakfast. The best way to describe this place is awkward... while there are menus at every table, you still have to get up and order at the front register. Which seems very odd to me, just get rid of the menus and put the menu on a blackboard or something at the front where you have to pay. The food itself was mediocre. Blueberry pancakes were not any better than in the box mixes you'd make at home. And the french toast was bland. read more

This restaurant and gift shop serves up a lot of great quality homestyle food. The eating area can get a bit cramped during the breakfast rush, but the quality of the food, and the general kindness of the waitstaff definitely recommend this restaurant. We visited for lunch our first day in Rocky Harbor, and were very impressed with the Seafood Chowder, then kept coming back to eat a hearty breakfast every morning with fresh brewed coffee as a great start to the day. Lucky enough to go here for an early dinner. Not exactly a lot of space, but we went while it was fairly empty. The people here are extremely friendly and fun to talk to. The food here is simple, but wholesome. Gives you that "home-cooked" meal feel. The fish cakes were great, especially with this yellow relish they give you on the side, and their seafood chowder was fantastic. It wasn't one of those extremely heavy and thick soups you usually get. They reccomend their salmon burgers, and you basically get to customize whatever toppings you want, and the salmon is cooked perfectly. read more

What a great surprise! We just needed a quick lunch before leaving the Gros-Morne region and we ended up having much better food than we did the day before (at a pricier restaurant in the same city)! I truly can not fully express how much I love this place. It is heaven on earth. I love Newfoundland and this was my favorite place there. The food is delicious and cozy and comfy and traditional. We went there for breakfast almost everyday. If you visit Gros Morne National Park (which I also highly recommend) this place is a DO NOT MISS! The staff is really what made it so dreamy though. They were extremely nice and personable and the man who worked there that we saw everyday gave us advice on the weather and hiking and was truly one of the most amazing and kindest people I've ever met in my whole life.
