I paid the $195 service fee and called Rick, who said he would look around to see if the parts were available. After getting no call back I called him again he confirmed that the parts were not available but that he would see if he could find a bike and give me credit for the service call. I have not heard anything from him at all. This doesn't leave a good impression.

This included replacing a cable, fixing my treadmill, and cleaning/servicing other pieces of equipment. My communications with Rick were great. He was able to schedule an appointment within a few days, answered all of my specific questions on what would be done and quickly gave me a very reasonable quote. The technician, Prisco, was efficient, communicated everything he was doing, and was an overall really friendly guy. In these days where customer service is often overlooked, these guys are five stars!

The mattress probably came with pinhole so didn't hold air in. Used up a credit so didn't keep the receipt. Always keep the receipts from this store. Andreas, a manager when I called to explain the situation said he could give me a $30 gift card. But when I got there, I waited about 45 minutes and he didn't give me a refund. He gave me a receipt at my request since I didn't want to go to that store again, saying I left both there for customer service to resolve the next day...figured he could mail me a gift card as promised. The Big 5 store where I bought it understood the situation and apologized for the way I was treated because the actual manager, Matt, hung up on me 4 times and each call was the same: he didn't listen to me and told me to call their customer service and then hung up on me. When I was told by Coleman to take a photo of the items so that they could give me the proper customer service...nobody at the store would take a photo of my items for me. But Matt didn't stay on the phone long enough to hear it. I'm now thinking that's because they tossed the items long before my month deadline expired. Coleman took care of me anyway. April 22 I brought the items to this store and Jessica in customer service told me that I had a month to resolve the issue, not necessarily pick it up as non profits have pick up schedules. Several days before the month ended, I found very appropriately, an abuse shelter who would pick up both items once they had a team member to make the 45 minute trip to do so. I notified the store and customer service before the deadline of the plan that a non profit would be picking them up so they had no right to toss my items. I let the store know on Friday 5/29 that someone was on the way from San Jose (within a week of the deadline within which the plan had to be communicated, as Jessica abruptly mandated) and gave the store the heads up. Andreas couldn't find it and after so many lies and being hung up on so many times, and Jessica not listening and talking over me when I tried to correct her with accurate info, I figured that when he said he would look for it and let me know...that I would never hear. So today, my last call with Jessica, the manager of Big 5 customer service, she defended their action to toss my items since there was a pinhole leak (which they knew from the beginning as I told them so and it was sold that way; I think it was a prior return) and reneged on her prior comment that I had to let them know within the month...not picked up within the month. So I got the expected answer from her when I asked her to send a new queen air mattress and pump to this shelter and here's their address. She verbally attacked me. Now off to call the shelter...and let them know the unconscionable ending. Before I end this you should know that I called at least 5 other Big 5 CA stores for the regional/district manager's name and contact information and none would share it...so abusive managers can get away with their behaviors and their bosses never find out. So regional managers Paul Stockdale (No. CA) and Frank Golden (So. CA), make your contact info known if customers ask so that you can get the best store managers and staff who aren't afraid of accountability, truth and good customer service.

I was looking to upgrade the treadmill during the pandemic. The best part was when I called in with…read moremy requirements, Chris shortlisted the best of the lot (Matrix and Precor in my case) and guided me with options since there are so many choices out there to make from. It was then super easy and helpful to narrow down on the treadmill I needed. Treadmills are pretty heavy and we don't normally change them often. I think a good guidance is the key here, so we can focus on other things in life. He also recommended me to install a dedicated 20W power outlet for the longevity of machine (which was as per the manufacturer's recommendation) and a good quality mat with link to purchase from. I see how he cares for the customer and provides valuable data for us to decide on. Chris also offered me a good price for trading in my old treadmill. The price is unbeatable. All treadmills are serviced and as good as brand new for a fraction of the price. I did walk in to a showroom for a brand new machine which was much more expensive (after all discounts) for a lower level model. Chris also came by twice to install the treadmill and then the mat, as the mats were not in yet. I can't thank Chris enough for this machine. There is also warranty coverage and service available after the warranty expires. That's a complete package I would say.

He was able to provide a date and time frame when a technician can come look at my treadmill. I sent him the video of the issue and treadmill brand. He also provided a quote for the service. My treadmill was making squeaking and rushing sounds when used. It seemed misaligned or caught onto something. It was internal issue and I was no expert on figuring out what it was. A few days later Tim arrived, he texted me 15 minutes before which was greatly appreciated. He assessed the issue and not only did he fix the issue, he even fixed what a previous tech did to my treadmill. My treadmill was originally seen by a Nordictrack outsourced tech to replace my belt and battery back in November 2025. After Tim corrected the lazy method the previous tech made, I had regrets of going through Nordictrack in the first place. I should have just went with Gym Guards when I first came across them on Yelp. Tim gave me advice on future maintenance I can do to my treadmill i.e. lubricant application after 150 miles, as well as using an Allen wrench when it comes to tightening my walking belt. Tim was a perfectionist and didn't leave till he checked the treadmill thoroughly. He actually spent a decent time making sure the issue was fixed, treadmill was stable, and no other problems arose as he let the treadmill run.
