We have asked for it to be moved up because we get run off down the side of the house but the owner and engineer insist it is secure, we are very concerned it is not and will get water and mud in the unit. We wanted it installed on a concrete slab on the other side of the house but they would not do it. At this point we are not happy with our final results.

I paid him $8,000 for this work and he gave me a full 10 year Warranty. On 26 September, 2012 he installed an Amana system with airhandlers provided by Chris Lovell of Associated Equipment. My previous HVAC system was a SEER 8 and so Doug assured me that my new system would be twice as efficient. From the moment Doug began work I had problems. I found beer cans on my property during the installation. He adamantly denied they were his. The system not only did not work, my heating bill tripled in a month when the weather was exceptionally mild. The only heat that the system ever produced was on Emergency Heat - the heat pump never worked despite 8 attempts by Doug to fix it. After repeatedly calling him his explanations ranged from "the system is working fine" to "I don't know what is wrong with it" to "your electric bill is not my problem". I have recorded messages where he admits that he cannot fix the problem and does not know what to do. Unknown to Doug, I called another company Knepper Heating and Air who called Amana the manufacturer of the system. Knepper and Amana agreed that the components installed by Doug do not work together, are not certified to work together and will never work together no matter what "repairs" are done. When Doug came back the last time with Chris Lovell of Associated Equipment, I presented them with the repair order and price for repairs from Knepper Air. Doug and Chris both blanched and in a later registered letter to me, insist that they can fix the system and that my repairs are not needed. In the mean time, I had been without heat for two months and my electric bill was skyrocketing. I sent Doug a registered letter demanding that he refund me enough money to have the system repaired by someone else. I gave him a deadline of ten days but have not had any reply and the deadline has now past. This is not, by the way, Doug's first such problems. He has a long history of license problems and his current license is in probationary status. He constantly changes his phone number and address to run from his many complaints and bad reviews. AVOID THIS COMPANY!!!

Three months after installation, Zap called and informed my that it was time for my quarterly maintenance appointment. Wait, what? How much will that cost me? NOTHING. They replaced it without question even though that was not part of their warranty. As a contractor who has dealt with hundreds of subcontractors, they are the top .001%. On my new construction they installed my gas furnace backwards, thus creating issues with air distribution. Most of the air supply and return ducts were crimped and created uneven air and return air distribution and extremely loud air noise at the floor registers. They refused to correct any of the above and now I'm left with shelling out $3K to get my system set up the way it should have been to begin with. I've spoken to others that have had Americas Home Place build their home and use N.E. GA HVAC and they all complain about the same air distribution plus uneven temps between room. Do note that the system was still functioning, but with a troubling noise suggesting an impending failure. The home warranty company dispatched Aire Serv of Northeast Georgia for the service call. Someone from Aire Serv called and we scheduled an appointment that worked well for my schedule and needs. The technician, Sumo, arrived on time and was really great to work with. He checked out the entire system and the source of the noise. He recommended replacement since the system was nearly 20 years old; he'd talk with his management about it and work on getting the approval. The next morning I heard from the manager at AireServ that the replacement had been approved and they would be ordering the new system. Once they had a delivery date they'd schedule with me for installation. As promised, they called once they had a system on the way and we scheduled a convenient day for the install. I have every reason to believe things would have sped up if my system wasn't heating the house, but since it was I was fine to schedule for convenience. On the install day the two technicians again were on time. Both Sumo and Sean were great; they were conscientious about noise given that I had work conference calls, plus they were extremely careful to not make a mess. The install went great, they took away all the old stuff and even vacuumed & swept up after themselves when leaving. I am extremely happy with the service from Aire Serv of NorthEast Georgia and am glad to recommend them.

We had an issue with our irrigation pump. Midway Electric, who we bought the pump from 4 years…read moreearlier came out on 8/26 and determined the pump needed repair. Over the next 3 weeks we have to repeatedly call them to get a status on our repair. Each time we were told "they'll be out there another day or two." Which didn't happen. On 9/19, they came out to reinstall the pump. The pump still didn't work because they had misdiagnosed the problem, and they again took it back to their shop. On 9/24, they were back out saying the problem was actually a value separate from the motor. Finally, this time the pump was fixed. When I got the billed we were charged for 4 labor charges between $250-$300 each. When I contacted the office and said that part of the problem was their misdiagnosis of the problem, they took no responsibility for their part and said the bill was correct based upon the work they did. I would not recommend that Midway Electric be used for the purchase or repair for any electric motor issues.
