I've been coming to this area a lot lately - more or so for events such as the Successful Business Woman, Rotary Ice Rink, and the 2022 San Antonio Coffee Festival. Awesome area!

I really enjoy visiting this park. It is always clean and well maintained. It is also located in a great location. It is very large and accommodates large crowds. Parking can be a hassle if you go during an event but that is to be expected since you are downtown. Slab cinema often shows free movies here and there are several food trucks that stop by

Like any major city, SA has it's share of green spaces. Travis Park is one with several historical items on display, including cannons and a statue of the namesake Confederate colonel. Given the current political climate, some changes have been made and others proposed by the city in order to appropriately preserve this site while also emphasizing progress made in the areas of equality and human rights. The park itself is small, a city block size, but has been repeatedly voted SA's favorite downtown park. It is most noteworthy as the site of annual jazz festival Jazz'SAlive in September. Over the years, this park has been significantly cleaned up. The recent addition of colorful tables and chairs (and food trucks!) for downtown employees to use the space for lunch. Street parking is your best bet in this area, 2 hr limit.

Pretty nice attraction area. Not really a park but a wonderful place to sit and relax. There are usually events going on here. Pretty hard to miss during the holidays.

Travis Park is an awesome little 2.6 acre treasure situated in the middle of urban San Antonio and has been a city park since 1870. Monday-Friday there are Food Trucks in Travis Park or at least they are supposed to be there. Unfortunately some of them don't always show up. While this is not the city's fault I do find fault with the city for continuing to allow unreliable vendors to continue to operate downtown. In September of every year the park hosts Jazz'SAlive. This is a FREE two-day festival featuring national, regional and local musicians. All about the jazz :-) This is a great park and I love spending my lunch hour here. Most of the squirrels will eat peacefully from your hand. There was one though who could not differentiate my thumb from a peanut... Oppps LOL Next time you are downtown give this park a look.

It's amazing what can happen in a month. Or in the case of Travis Park, what a reimagined space can become. Twas not so long ago that this area had long surrendered to neglect and deterioration. On any given day or night you could see in plain sight drug deals, public intoxication(subsiding the Jazz Festival), fights, street drama of all sorts, cops intervening, vagrants, littering, felonious behavior etc. Rather than a park meant for the locals here and tourists, it was quickly turned into a place to avoid at all costs; certainly an eyesore by and for the city. But now that it has undergone some basic cosmetic changes and implemented basic rules for parkgoers, it has changed. Sort of. A new ground, replacing the old one has been layed out. It appears that some trees, old and rotting have been replaced with newer ones . An interesting architectural piece donated by UTSA sits by one end of the park. Small signs noting that this is in fact Travis Park are placed at all directions. Gone is the vendor who sold questionable food from an ice chest. In his place a small concession stand similar to the one at Hemisphere Park sells food and drinks. I like the feel and flow of the area now. It seems like a deliberate and calculated step by the city to bring back patrons to this once glorious place. There is a very small, tinee, tiny dog park. In the past the park did not seem pooch friendly. But now our city's furry friends have a new place to hang out with its owners. And not to be outdone there is a park policeman that patrols the perimeter. I know that parks often reflect the elements and demographics of that particular domain. In this case the bad elements overwhelmed the city's best intentions. I like that along with the Jazz Festival the city has utilized this space to offer ballet, family friendly movies and even Spurs games. It certainly would behoove the city to go in that direction. While I do like its makeover it feels like they should've and could've took it a little more further. I would have seen more done with the benches and water fountains. Or even to have added one. And VIA should invest in more updated bus shelters for its patrons, a small way to alter the look of the park. In addition it would have been nice to see more contemporary lighting, as in the scale of Milam Park, that adds a touch of beauty to it. All and all I do like the renovations implemented by the city here. The park has a more welcoming flow to it now, and it does feel a little safer. My only question is what steps will the city ensure, in regards to the upkeep of the park? What a difference a month can make in a park and to a city as well indeed.

Cute park, very small though. The Christmas tree was big and beautiful. The ice skating rink is a cute touch but very small as well. Good location downtown.

Travis has really come a long way, I remember walking through here from time to time from work. I tried to get through it as fast as I could. Now I walk slow. It's been renovated and there are tons of people and scooters. It's pretty during Christmas time. Way to go Travis!!

First time at this park. We enjoyed visiting during an event. There was paid parking very close at a church. Very central to downtown area. I'm surprise we didn't visit this park before. My children had fun. We did bring our own folding chairs. I'm not sure if the park had restrooms but there were portable potties when we were there. I would come back and visit another time and have a picnic.

    Christmas lights in the park.

Extremely pretty. Wish there was more to this park though. They still have the Christmas lights out and about on the trees. Extremely gorgeous. The park benches are always nice.

This park is cool for people who are not looking for a kid friendly place. Since it's downtown you will have to pay to park so be prepared with coins for most of the outdated meters. I would not advise this one.

I had the pleasure of visiting Travis Park during my last trip to San Antonio. After eating a bunch of ribs and ice cream on the Riverwalk, I needed to long walk around the town. I stumbled upon Travis Park while aimlessly wandering around at night. Although the surrounding area felt uneasy (only because I wasn't familiar with the area), I felt extremely safe in the park, mainly because they had a police officer posted there during my visit. I was able to aimlessly wonder the park and play with my phone for an hour, while also enjoying the lights and sights around the park.

They also have a sand play area, as well as another section with small games like ping pong, chess and many more games. Overall, this garden/park offers a wide range of outdoor activities for people of all ages. I've been taking my kid here since he was born and as he is growing and exploring new areas of Yanaguana I can truly see how well thought off this park is. To all the locals that don't travel to downtown too often, I would definitely recommend giving this park a chance before winter comes. Also, for all the tourists coming with little ones that need the space to run around for a couple of hours, this is most definitely the spot for you!

There's separate picnic tables by the Kimpton hotel side that's great for a quick meal too. Lots of splash pads and shaded areas with chairs for the parents to watch from a distance. Parking is going to be a challenge on the weekends but paid parking isn't too far away.
