We stay at KOA for the amenities. Yes, it's more pricey than some parks but we like that we know what to expect from KOA. We stayed in one of the new pull through full hook up sites, it was spacious but not shady. They planted new trees so some shade will come. The pool is nice. They only have one shower house, I think they plan to add another but it's not built yet. The showers were clean and the laundry was convenient. The pool was fantastic. We enjoyed the free mini golf. Definitely go eat at Patty Cakes! read more

We had reservations for the week of Aug 24,2024. Unfortunately our motorhome was TBoned on our way to the campground. We suffered a complete loss of our motorhome. We had made a $250 deposit. The campground refused to refund any part of it. I realize what their cancelation policy is BUT you would think IF they had a heart they would have taken our circumstances into consideration. We had a really good time staying there for three nights. We stayed in one of the cabins that had an indoor bathroom. We really enjoyed our Stay and the staff was friendly. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a couple day getaway. The pool was nice and heated. read more

Very family-friendly campground. We stayed in a deluxe cabin, which had everything we needed. There is a "train ride" twice a day; if you have kids, you'll need to plan your day around it, because they'll love it! The playground and jumping pads are also great! read more

Staff was very accommodating. Nice, clean park. It was very quiet and well kept. The roads were wide enough for our rig.

The check in was seamless. The campground is very well maintained. The information packet provided at checkin is the best I've seen. They gave us some packets of food at check in. All amenities are well maintained. I get a text each night reminding me that the camp store will be closing. This helps quite a bit in case we were needing something. We stay here every year and it is a lovely campground. The sites are nice sized, the bathrooms are very clean and the staff is very nice. This year while we were out for the day a storm with high winds popped up and a staff member put our canopy down and put our chairs under the camper so nothing would be damaged. This was a lovely place to stay. We stayed in a cabin with a Queen size bed and another room with 2 bunk beds. Full bathroom, microwave, fridge, porch with a glider. There was a burn pit and a gas grill for our use too. Very clean. The staff was very helpful and welcoming. read more

Located outside the city so a bit of a drive to Traverse City. Nice spots with plenty space between RV's. Some spaces had nice cement patios with furniture. Dog park was clean. Facilities clean. Small store was handy. Staff was friendly. read more

It's hard to find a campground that makes the whole family happy. The husband wants to tent camp, because childhood memories. I'm okay with that, as long as I have access to indoor plumbing. My autistic son needs WiFi, electricity, and swings. My daughter wants a pool. This had all those things, and surprisingly good tent sites for a mostly RV park. And the location was excellent for day trips to Sleeping Bear, Traverse City, Charlevoix, and Petosky. Would definitely stay here again. read more

WE ARE KOA MEMBERS AND WE CAMP NATION-WIDE. ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE TREATMENT. The owner, Kathy, is the most narrow-minded, pretentious, non-professional, rude "woman," named Kathy, I've ever come across in my entire life. From the moment we checked in, my sister and I had our parking passes practically thrown at us. The woman barely spoke to us. That was our first impression. Our second day here we were playing a game of washers around 5 pm and had some country music playing, not loud at all. Even our neighbors said that they liked it and wanted us to turn it up after we asked them if our music bothered them at all. Let me throw out there that it is Memorial Day weekend! Saturday evening. Not late at all. And we are near a pool full of screaming children. A bit later, Kathy came and told us to turn it down. We did. Not too long later we received an eviction letter for "disturbing the peace." IN THE MEAN TIME- people near us were blasting rap music, which we confronted her about and she said she coincidentally couldn't hear. I had calmly talked to her after the eviction letter and she agreed that if we "kept it down" we could stay, but continued to sit not far from our camp and periodically drive past on her golf cart and watch us our entire stay. Let me just say we have felt extremely uncomfortable by this woman and will absolutely never come here or to another KOA ever again. THANKS KATHY! EDIT- we are still here, unfortunately we have all been drinking and cannot leave, but we can't even go to the bathroom right now at 10:30 pm without her sitting outside us waving as we go by. She is absolutely harassing us and it is a total nightmare. KOA will never receive our business again. read more

My wife and I have been KOA members for a bit more than a year now. Not only Have we camped at KOA campgrounds, but we have stopped to visit many possible sites to stay. We are presently in the Traverse City/Buckley KOA. My wife and I have had nothing but great experiences until now. Kathy is evidently the owner of this park. She verbally assaulted us for playing non-explicit country music. The volume of the music could not be heard over the noise level of the pool occupants. Extremely rude...served us with an eviction notice out of the blue. We had many conversations with nearby campers...not one complaint. read more

My husband and I stayed here for a 4 night camping trip over the 4th. We thought the place was great - everything was very clean and well maintained. The bathrooms were well taken care of. The staff was very friendly. They have a lot of amenities and seems like a great place for kids. We were tent camping but the cabins seemed very nice as well. They take great care of the grounds and facilities. Lots of fun little activities and everything is well maintained. They even rake the sand in the playground area every morning! Staff members are regularly out and about taking care of business. They have actual doors with locks (not just a curtain) for each shower stall, which was a first and we go camping somewhere new every summer. This is my 5th year gong to TCKOA and every year the owners make have made great improvements to the campground. It is obvious they take great pride in their campground because the bathrooms, laundry room, store, pool and grounds are so clean. The landscaping on the grounds is so beautiful and well kept and there is so much for the kids to do without ever leaving the park. I wanted to keep this place a secret but it's to good not to share so that others can enjoy it! read more

The cabin sites are shady, clean, and even landscaped. I felt comfortable letting my daughter go to the playground by herself. Everything was kept clean and updated. Lots of things for kids to do. read more

Camping is supposed to be fun for all ages. It was not a very pleasant experience. Staff was unfriendly, campsite was dirty. Bathroom unclean. I have been to other campsites in the area and will go back there. I wouldnt recommend KOA. read more

We stayed 4 nights midweek in July in our popup with my wife and three daughters. We chose the water/electric sites close to the restrooms. These sites are nice and shady, but you still heard road noise as the campground is right on the highway. I suppose the tent sites way in the back were quieter, but would be a hike to the restrooms. This KOA is very clean and well kept. The bathrooms and showers were some of the cleanest we've seen while camping. The staff is very friendly and they even deliver your firewood and pickup your trash for you. The pool looked very nice as did the playground. Quiet hours were from 10pm to 8am and I was very surprised how the whole place got quiet right at 10pm and stayed they way till 8am. This KOA is rather small and the sites are close together with no real privacy between sites, but since we were camping midweek isn't wasn't too full in our area. Wifi was very good too! We did get some heavy rain one night, but the ground has great drainage and I saw no real signs of puddling and our site dried up very quickly. Good location to do day trips & shopping as needed. read more
