My wife & I contacted Travel Shoppe about 11 months ago & started planning for our 50th Anniversary trip to Italy. We just got home last week and the trip was amazing!! 6 days in Roma', 10 days on Celebrity Cruise around the 'boot of Italy' then 3 days in Venice. All of the prearranged travel connections by air, land and see were spot-on, with Lemo drivers (with our name on a plaque) and private tour guides knowledgable of the history of Rome, the ruins of Pompeii, Pisa (leaning tower), Venice and more!! The 2 different Hotels that Travel Shoppe booked for us were outstanding, great location in Rome and in Venice the Hotel was only 12 feet from the waters edge of the Grand Cannel...so beautiful and awesome to see the boat traffic on the water. Travel shoppe planned a trip for me and 3 friends to go to the Bahamas for my friend's 30th birthday. Leading up to the trip was fine, but COVID hit and me and couple of my friends have susceptible immune systems so we had to cancel the trip, and that's when the mess started. We notify our person that we wanted to cancel and to receive a refund for what we did pay for the trip. My friends and I request refund updates and our agent replies and gave us updates, but initially only received partial of our refund. It took me to have to threaten with legal action for theM to reply to my messages after 4 months of being dodged and ignored. They came up with an excuse that their internet and phones were down for a month, and they never communicated that their systems were going to be down. Before the Internet went down they said our refund checks were in the mail and it didn't appear for 3 months and there was no communication again. 2 months later after finally getting a response, I finally get my check for the remainder of my refund after multiple exchanges and mess ups on information and refund amount, and the check has my name spelled wrong on it. All in all the process to set up is fun and easy but the refund process is horrible. I shouldn't have to threaten legal action for there to be a response and action taken. read more

Two weeks at the Hilton Wiakoloa, in Hawaii is great and be sure to get the Makai Lagoon Upgrade, with your own concierge and discounts and not having to pay for the cultural classes, you don't really need a car the hotel has a shuttle and for two dollars each way to Kings Shope and Queens Market Place it is great. But if you need or want a car there is a car rental office on the hotel grounds plus a UPS store if you want to ship things home. I fly for a living and have always used the Travel Shoppe as my travel agency. I've always told my friends that when you may save a little money buying a on line ticket, however when travel goes bad is when you want a friendly voice navigating you around the country quickly, that would be the Travel Shoppe. Cheri has bailed me out of various travel woes. Quick example, I am in Wyoming and have to get to Las Vegas(my anniversary) that night, my flight has to go through Salt Lake City, Utah. Thunderstorms, flight delayed, delayed, it's going to get cancelled, it's CANCELLED. I am in line at customer service getting rebooked, small commuter planes, it's Tuesday and my next available flight is maybe Wednesday afternoon or Thursday morning. I have know teamed up with the stranded band of brothers (4 other guys also stranded) and the bad airline chatter begins. I immediately call Cheri, I am in a serious jam, Cheri, let me see what I can do. A few minutes later she calls me back, do you see anyone at the --------- airline counter, go get in line. They have a flight leaving shortly going through Denver, you'll miss the storm (I didn't know Cheri was a meteorologist) and the second they officially post your original flight is cancelled I will book you. I am the only person in line, flight officially cancelled, Cheri immediately gets me a seat and I make to Vegas in time for dinner. That is why I use a travel agency and the Travel Shoppe is great. My first, and only, experience with a travel agent was with Tami Gibbs at Travel Shoppe. I can't begin to tell you how disappointed I was with how poorly my trip to Boston was planned. After giving her a slew of places I wanted to visit, I was presented with a package that literally looked like this: Hotel, 1 tour, and a dinner reservation... This is a trip to Boston for 7 days and that's the package I got. The worst part of all, I already paid my deposit for the horrific package she provided, which means I lost over half my deposit (only because I booked trip insurance). I would have lost it all had I not purchased it. Next thing I do is go online to compare her rates by booking the exact package on my own. To my surprise, I was able to save myself over $800 and I planned a better trip. Travel agents aren't designed to save you money because they book their packages through 3rd parties whom pay their commissions. I hope this reaches a lot of people who consider using a travel agent and hopefully you don't make the same mistake I did. Travel agents are useless and they will end up costing you more money. My advice, solicit them to put a trip together, shop the rates, then book it yourself to save money. read more

Flights, hotels, car, transfers, tours, etc., -- everything was in place for each leg of our journey. The only glitch was travel delays on the first set of flights, which of course couldn't be controlled. We can't thank them enough for helping us make this "trip of a lifetime" possible and doing such a thorough job of making it all so easy for us to enjoy.
