We stopped in to the Travelodge while visiting Sydney.
To be honest, if we hadn't pre-booked, we likely wouldn't have stopped. It's not very fancy looking from the street. I never thought of myself as a hotel snob, but maybe I am.
Once we walked through the door (from the handy parking lot) we entered a lovely warm, modern lobby. We were greeted by an adorable, funny, helpful and knowledgeable staff member. We booked in and headed to our room.
We had a modern, possibly newly renovated room. We had a king sized bed (ok, it didn't have 10,000 pocket coils or a European cloud pillow top), but it was pretty comfortable.
There was a love seat, table, chair, microwave, fridge and coffee pot...just like home! And both sides of the bed had side tables with lamps. The lamps were equipped with power outlets-BONUS
The washroom was clean. The water was hot, the temp didn't waiver and the pressure was great! There was a motion sensing light switch over the sink, but thankfully you can turn it off so the bright light doesn't turn on and wake your partner when you sneak off for a puddle in the middle of the night.
Brekky was a typical continental breakfast. Nothing fancy. Fruit, yogurt, cereal, danishes, pancakes, toast, sausage and egg 'patties.'
We didn't have any major complaints. I wished there was a spare blanket so when hubby turned the air conditioner on, I could be comfortable, too. The other issue was that the room don't block out he sounds from the hallways. Thankfully we travel with earplugs but it could have been a real damper on our stay. read more
