The room was so bad that we asked to move and were given another room that, although not as bad, was still very poor. However, the staff were very pleasant throughout and very helpful (I hope this is not because it happens all the time!!). The food was another matter. The set menus start at approx £85 which does appear to be a little bit pricey, but do not be put off because the food is absolutely amazing. Intertwined with the 3 courses are another number of smaller courses to really set your pallet dancing. I have never eaten such beautiful and clever food. At the end of the meal I did not feel completely stuffed, but pleasantly full, all washed down with a lovely bottle of red. The food here is amazing, pity the rooms do not live up to the same standards. A good place to go to treat yourself to a wonderful evening of food (just don't stay the night!!).

My room was in one of the remote blocks and was reasonable quality but nothing special. I only ate in the restaurant for breakfast, and the kippers, whilst tasty, had a ridiculous number of small bones in them. Despite this it was a pretty good breakfast in general and the staff were friendly and helpful.

They're not messing around when they say a good night's sleep guaranteed. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. Even had free wifi! The service was excellent and at £49 for the one night I stayed there, I felt it was well worth every penny. As and when I need to travel down this part of the world, I'm more likely to stay here than anywhere else.

Free parking places direct at the hotel and 30 min free wi-fi are the highlights of this hotel. The room was clean and like all other Premier Inn decorated. We stayed for one night in the Premier Inn Aldershot for a friend's birthday party at a wine bar in the area. The staff were super friendly and cheerful, the room was large, bright, clean and comfortable. The bed is one of the comfiest I've stayed in (and huge) and I wish I could have taken the duvet and soft pillows home with me. There's even the choice of firm or soft pillows depending on what you prefer! I enjoyed a soak in the bath (as I don't have one at home at the moment) and the shower was powerful and kept a good temperature. It's a basic, no frills hotel so remember your toiletries. A hairdryer would have been nice in the room but I think you could get one from reception. We paid £35 for the night for two of us so I can't complain! We added breakfast onto our stay, which ended up being in the ajoining Brewer's Fayre. It was just under £9 each but it was unlimited breakfast with plenty of choice of full English cooked breakfast and continental with cereals, muffins, yoghurts, fruit, eggs however you want them, vegetarian sausages and more. We really made the most of the unlimited breakfast and enjoyed it all. The sausage were good quality, eggs were poached perfectly to order and the hash browns were the right level of crispy on the outside and fluffy in the middle! I'd definitely recommend staying here!

I ended up with a double room with one full size bed, a twin bed and a little table. The room was enormous by European standards. All rooms come with en suite bathrooms. Mine was perfect and it came with toiletries. Shower was great-water pressure was awesome and it got hot fast. Free wi-fi and breakfast though I didn't stay for breakfast. The only negatives are no elevators and no airport transport. It's a bit of a hassle to get here from the Tube though there is a train station very close by. A good amount of shops, restaurants and a pub nearby. Had a surreal moment in that a lot of the kids in the pub were all Jersey Shored out.

It was a short uber ride from the airport, and the place was SO cozy and perfect. We ate the best fish and chips of our lives at the restaurant and then hopped over (across the hall) to the pub for a few drinks before walking right up the stairs and going to bed. The bed was comfortable (although Americans- take note that a king size bed in the US is much bigger than a UK King. I'd say the UK king was closer to a queen). There was a gorgeous coffee/tea setup with a Nespresso machine and pods, an electric kettle, some teabags, and chocolates to pair with the coffee. We had a balcony overlooking the river which was gorgeous! Everything about this place was cozy, cute, and felt so English.

Hoping, but not expecting, and this is the perfect way to go through life: Set your expectations low and watch your happiness meter rise. The Swan Hotel is a 16th century place of lodging sitting right beside the Thames. It's been refurbished to a stylish, immaculate inn with both a pub and a restaurant. Staines isn't a hotbed of activity so hanging out in the pub then stumbling up to your room is a very comforting plan. While it's true that a ball placed on the floor of my room would have rolled on its own (remember, 16th century building) it's also true that my room was a dream. With its luxurious bedding, mattress (1600 individual pocket spring mattress), and a French door that opened up to a tiny balcony overlooking the Thames River I'd have enjoyed staying longer. That such charm can be had for so little (rooms here can be had for about $125 per night) brings joy. The Swan Hotel is a Fuller property, a name I saw several times during my time in the UK. Based on my all-around excellent experience here I'd not just seek to stay here again but I'd also seek out other Fuller properties when returning to visit the rest of the UK.

The addition of a fan in the room was very welcomed as it was a warm day and they have no air cooling system .The only problem we had in regards to noise was from the very heavy footed people above us. The staff were very nice, professional and happy! The breakfast in the pub next door was fantastic it was hot, fresh, well cooked and very tasty, the staff were happy to help and were constantly tidying and keeping the food etc. topped up , it was also great value for money. We had a great stay and would go there again!

No choice of tables offered. The menu is a fairly robust sounding British gastro pub menu but with very upmarket prices (£17-20) for mains. Even the side dish of carrots and swede (£3.50) was tiny and bland - about 2 tablespoons and served almost cold. For dessert I opted for the poached pear and gingerbread. A half pear that was sliced and arranged on the plate, and just reminded me of tinned pears in syrup, accompanied by a mini rectangular piece of brown but completely flavourless cake. The propped up and fanned out pear on the tiny finger of cake with 3 blobs of some sort of sauce was just silly and it was completely bland and uninteresting...Just give me some decent home made hot pudding with enough to leave a customer satisfied. The overly arranged food with tiny portions doesn't work for me and just seems at odds with the descriptions of the dishes on the menu which sound hearty and satisfying and ends up being just mean. Does small portions and arranged food alone equate to gourmet dining? I think not. When we were ready to leave, we became invisible to the wait staff, stuck as we were in the corner. After several attempts we put our coats on and walked up to pay to finally get their attention. Left hungry and irritated and just wanted to leave. So overall not a good dining experience, ham fisted service and high prices with relatively poor value quotient.

Amazing and the place is rich with history including meetings between Churchill and Eisenhower. As with any old buildings, it was a little cold...who am I kidding...a lot cold but charming. Food is OK but they have Guiness on tap so...it's OK. Service was great. Probably would have been better if it wasn't so cold.
