What amazing event!
This time, Travelling Dishes held the event at Cafe Levi. A cute brick building on the 100 Ave.
It was really great to learn about Nigerian foods with a modern touch. Learning other people's through their foods is an interesting part of my foodie's journey and another way to travel without leaving the city where I currently live in.
Dupe and her husband Seun are great hosts. Prior to hav e the meal, Seun briefly explained about Nigeria (geographically, location, produces, food ingredients, tribes and languages).
Having 2 Nigerian former coworkers in the past doesn't help me to get a chance to taste any Nigerian foods as none of them were a cook. And I finally got a chance to enjoy Nigerian foods.
I did enjoy everything on the menu esp. Ewa Agoyin; mashed beans served with peppery thick sauce which is made from peppers and palm oil. I'm not sure if the there is crayfish or other smoked fish as I could taste the smokiness which I love.
If you've never been to Nigeria or taste any Nigerian foods, you gotta try to attend one of Travelling Dishes events in which Dupe brings the taste of Buka (Nigerian Street Food) to Edmonton. read more
