The interior was lovely and the service was excellent and attentive. Our meal did not disappoint, either. We had the croquets with arroz con pollo, avocado crema, but no cilantro (my wife is allergic to it). Very tasty, as were our cocktails. My wife had the risotto with braised beef cheek (so tender!), roasted oyster mushrooms, veal demi-glace, and parmesan. Unctuous and umami. I had the Bucatini -- blue crab with anchovy butter and red pepper pesto. I'm a sucker for anchovies and the anchovy butter, once stirred into the pasta, was absolutely delicious and really complimented the crab. A truly savory and decadent treat. We were really pleased with our experience at Our Paladar and we look forward to coming back when we visit Rochester again in the not too distant future.

The service is improving but still a couple of odd one offs to fix like my husband's Manhattan was served over ice which is atypical. Edible flowers, that finally come in, along with some dried fruit, which were gorgeous, but also seemed dried and inedible in my humble opinion. Their classic gin and tonic with refreshing local mixers was still my favorite drink on the menu after we tried several from the happy hour menu in between appointments and dinner. The food including our Hot Honey flatbread pictured here was delicious & the Chef clearly was a pro. Easy to arrive by Subway from Mayo (in the Marriott lobby.)

Our server took the order for drinks and apps (spinach dip and cheese curds) around 5:45. At 6:10, our server dropped off the appetizers and we were getting nervous about time so asked to order right away and told her about the show. She went to go get her order pad and didn't come back until after 6:30. After ordering, we asked for our bill right away so we could pay and leave as soon as we were done eating. I paid through a QR code on the receipt (love that), but after I paid it - and added a tip - I saw that our party of 5 was already charged a 20% gratuity! On the menu it says gratuity is charged for parties of 6 or more, so buyer beware on that! I went to go find someone to talk to about the tip on top of the gratuity charge, and our server intercepted me and told me she would talk to the manager to have the duplicate tip removed. Food for *four* of us finally arrived at 6:55. We ordered a flatbread, walleye fingers, a French dip and two burgers. The final burger came out several minutes later. The food itself was decent. I really liked the spinach dip and the bread it came with was awesome- but there was easily twice as much dip than what the bread could accommodate. I recommend ordering more bread right away. The curds were good and spicy dipping sauce was really nice. I ordered roasted root vegetables instead of fries with the French dip. They were roasted with red peppers, mushrooms, onion and spinach (I think). I do not like peppers and it never occurred to me that they would be included. The sandwich was good, and my husband liked his burger, but we all had to gobble our food down to make it to our event. Overall - I definitely would not recommend eating here if you have a hard stop. We spent hundreds of dollars on dinner and were so rushed at the end it wasn't an enjoyable experience.

I ordered the Apple Margarita from the specials menu, while my husband had the Sherry Picking. Both drinks were beautifully crafted and so delightful that we kept trading sips to compare. For food, we shared the oxtail dish, and it was outstanding. The meat and mushrooms were incredibly tender, bursting with flavor, and every ingredient came together in perfect balance. It was one of those dishes you don't want to end. A big shoutout to Marlin, the bartender, who made the evening even better. He was friendly, attentive, and provided great conversation along with excellent service. All in all, this spot delivered on atmosphere, drinks, food, and hospitality. We'll definitely be back for another round at the bar!

We found the five course tasting menu to be interesting, but neither my wife nor I found the food to be delicious or memorable. Quality ingredients were top notch and the preparation and plating excellent, but we just didn't care for the flavors or combinations that came out. We expect when we get a tasting menu to have a few dishes that might miss the mark for us -- that's sort of the point. You're exploring the chef's ideas and dishes. It's strange when none of the dishes really hit with our palates and we travel all over the world in search of amazing food and dining experiences. To make matters somewhat worse, we did the wine pairing and oftentimes with the courses we found the wine did not pair incredibly well with the plates. Further, when the wine was served we never saw a bottle once and were never told about the winery, the vintage, etc. -- only the type of wine it was and what flavors we could expect. We've never had that before with a wine pairing. We encourage the chef to continue to explore his palate, creativity, and imagination and we look forward to the possibility of coming back again some time in the future to see how this chef and menu may have evolved.
