Stay Safe due to the Davis Fire…read more.. Quality/Quantity - Nice small visitor center. Educational, small gift shop, and has clean restrooms. Plenty of volunteers/team members. So many different trails. A very easy paved 0.4 mile loop hike, gravel path hikes, and of course, rough dirt hikes. Potential flooding, especially after a huge winter. Stay on the trails, as many paths have natural erosion. Stay safe. There used to be a fish hatchery here, see website. Not sure if it closed...? Also lots of wildlife; again, stay safe - Coyotes, bobcats, mule deer, black beers (we get this at the house also, LOL), mountain lions, rodents (too many to name), bats, birds, reptiles, etc. Atmosphere - Visitor center may be small, but they are packed full of information. Also cool decor, see pictures. There are also campsites, BBQ, picnic areas, volleyball courts, horse shoe, clean bathrooms, and plenty of parking (cars, RVs, buses, etc). There is even a stage in Eagle Meadows for events. Open 7 days a week from 7am to 7pm (hours are also seasonal, see website). Clean bathrooms throughout the different parking lots and camp sites. Horse trails and minimum bike trails, see picture. Visitor center; it was actually open today. Thank you volunteers. Last time we were here was during the winter; what a difference with the seasons. Service - Self-service today. Price - Free today. Owner Comment - Thank you Washoe County for another great park!

The crew from start to finish were fantastic! Welcoming, informative and created a great experience…read morethroughout the day. We went on the 2PM cruise today and had fantastic weather for a lake cruise. They advised us to start lining up around 1:30p, started boarding around 1:45p and were promptly cruising following key safety messages. Key things to note below: -There is available seating toward the front outside, if you appreciate some sun and a cool breeze these may be the seats for you! -Guests moved in and out throughout the cruise, we opted to stay in for most of it but had no issues moving around outside to take photos comfortably. -Snacks and drinks are available for purchase onboard. -They had comfy blankets available inside to take outside to keep warm (very nice touch and they appeared to be very clean) -They did a great job slowing down in Emerald Bay and highlighting wildlife nearby for viewing and photography. -Don't forget to bring cash to tip the well-deserving crew! -We had a cool mix of tourists and locals to chat with on the cruise. -There are padded bench style seats indoor and plastic chairs as well. The upper deck also had seating (no shade up top aside from some in the front) -There are restrooms on board, I didn't use them but they were available. Highly recommend for a relaxing and informative cruise around South Lake Tahoe & Emerald Bay. Will definitely cruise again on our next visit to South Lake Tahoe. Star employee - The gal in the ticket office helped us as our tickets printed oddly. She confirmed we were on the list and would be able to board without it. She was so friendly & set a cheerful tone for the day. :) Note, I typically never write reviews this quickly but they did an amazing job and we had a few minutes to spare before dinner nearby. :) Happy Sailing!

She shared…read moreinteresting stories and facts about the lake, gave clear instructions, and made everyone feel comfortable and safe -- with no one falling out of their kayaks. She also took incredible photos during the tour and shared them with us before we even left, which was such a thoughtful touch. The clear kayaks were so fun, and we were lucky to have calm waters and breathtaking views of Emerald Bay and Lake Tahoe. It was definitely a chilly adventure, but we dressed in layers like they recommended. The paddle out was calm, but the wind coming back was cold. Thankfully, the team had blankets ready for everyone, which we really appreciated. The snacks and drinks afterward were also a perfect treat after kayaking. The entire staff did a wonderful job keeping everyone safe while making the experience relaxing and enjoyable. One tip: when we booked, the two-person kayak option wasn't available online. If you really want a tandem kayak, I'd recommend calling ahead to ask. We got lucky and they were able to switch us that morning. The experience is definitely pricey, which was my only hesitation, but for a first-time adventure it was absolutely worth it. Emerald Bay and Lake Tahoe are unbelievably beautiful, and we're so glad we did it. 5 stars!

Had the most amazing time as 2 young families with kids. If you can swing it, the double decker…read morewith the slides is worth the splurge. The top is awesome for sunbathing on and heating up before sliding (literally) into the crisp and crystal clear Tahoe waters. Then, when you need some reprieve from the sun, the shade underneath is perfect. Joey was our captain. He was the ideal captain. Efficient, helpful, and would engage in conversation if you included him but not the type that turns into a "Chatty Kathy". Joey also navigated the boat like a pro-- I'm still impressed by how smooth he was able to keep the ride when going fairly fast even when we went through other boats' wakes. None of us got nauseous / "sea sick" (especially impressive because I was about 8 weeks pregnant). The included BBQ and cooler were nice to have, and the lily pad was a blast for our toddlers (though any age would enjoy it-- the adults in our group certainly did in between our shifts of child monitoring). We went to Emerald Bay on Joey's recommendation. There was a dock there that we pulled up to at the end for a quick bathroom break (at our kids' request) before motoring back across the lake to return to where we started. We met the guy who owns the company (Russel?) at a whiskey tasting event in Reno. Through the booking and confirmation experience we were really impressed by his professionalism and ability to remember his customers. What an all around great guy-- definitely someone you'd feel good about supporting as a business owner. Pro tip: get wet before using the slide and/or lube up with some tanning oil first! Also, if you're on the half day tour, fire up the bbq as soon as you anchor if you're cooking anything more substantial than hot dogs (we did country style ribs) that way you'll give the meat plenty of time to cook. Also, Wakebusters has life vests but if your kid has one they are already used to that's probably the way to go (our kids tried both and preferred theirs from home). Finally, wet suits are not needed, but they certainly make it a lot more comfortable for the kids (and require less sunscreen to be applied).

It even had a bbq aboard,so we had a great meal out on the water, fun slides on the boat, and a great time just soaking up the sun out on the water.
