The day felt like it went off without a hitch. I'm sure there were hiccups, but Kristin took care of them all before my husband and I ever heard anything about them. By the time we got to the wedding day, I was so comfortable with Kristin. We had emailed, talked a dozen times, and met in person as well. We lived out of state, and Kristin was very accommodating, often meeting when we were home around holidays. My husband and I are very organized, but it was wonderful to have someone with experience to bounce ideas off of and take a second look at plans. And all of this was before we even got to the wedding day! I loved having Kristin as a coordinator because she happily and promptly took care of anything we asked. On top of that, she ran interference and let us enjoy the day. Right before we sat down for dinner, Kristin let us know that she swapped two of the tables so a family member could plug in his oxygen tank. Kristin saw this need, took care of swapping the tables and informing the caterer, and then filled us in when we had a free moment. All of these little things throughout the day could have meant time my husband and I (or our close family members) would have had to take away from enjoying the event, but Kristin covered them all. At the end of the reception, I had asked my sisters to help my parents stay behind and clean up. Again though, Kristin had it covered, letting my exhausted parents go home to bed and my sisters out to party further with friends. The next morning, Kristin let us know that one of the groomsmen had forgotten to grab his suit when he left, and she offered to take it back to the rental store for us. Even though we did not hire them as a full wedding planner, Simply Elegant was there from the moment we hired them until the week after the wedding, always one step ahead of our needs.

Details of our wedding planning experience are below: Working with Entourage Events and the Minneapolis Event Centers was incredibly stressful. Due to incredibly high turnover, we were in contact with a different employee every time we had a question, an update to our wedding day plan, or when we attempted to schedule follow-up meetings. This meant that we had to go over every single detail we had already agreed to with each new employee. In every meeting, there were numerous mistakes with our event order and also blatant attempts by MEC and Entourage Events to charge us more money without our consent. We were able to resolve these issues only because of our meticulous documentation of emails, conversations, and agreements. The time and effort it took to advocate for ourselves caused us intense worry and stress for the entire year planning our wedding, as we felt we were constantly at risk of being taken advantage of financially. The most concerning communication issue with Minneapolis Event Centers and Entourage Events is that they only have one email for clients to contact, meaning we had no way to directly reach people we had spoken to about pricing or other agreements. In our case, that meant that at one point MEC/Entourage Events refused to honor the bar package they offered us when signing the contract, as they had "no record" of that conversation after the employee who originally confirmed the discount left their position. Luckily, our wedding coordinator attended a meeting with us to demand that our original agreement be honored. During that meeting, the owner of Entourage Events, Steve Hark, yelled at our wedding coordinator. It was completely unprofessional. The interaction did, however, prepare us to be vigilant in our future conversations with him and other management. Overall, it was clear throughout the wedding planning process that this company is extraordinarily disorganized, which leads to unnecessary frustration and anxiety for its clients. No matter how good the food is or how beautiful the space, the difficulty of having to work with such an unprofessional company is not worth it. Note: the employees who worked the actual wedding day were wonderful and accommodating. My complaints lie with the upper-management alone.

As I am based in NYC, I reached out to a local colleague for a vendor recommendation, and received Shannon at Entourage's contact info. Hands down, working with Entourage was an extremely seamless & professional process. With very little direction and no time (I asked Shannon for a proposal about an hour before a client presentation), I received prior to my meeting multiple options/pricing and photo examples of the elements. Shannon offered feedback & great recommendations, and within a few days we had a final game plan. Once on-site in St. Paul, Entourage again impressed me with the ability to navigate some hurdles to make our outdoor experience look incredible & elegant. My only regret is that I did not contact Entourage earlier in my planning process for additional design & décor needs! You will be in good hands with Shannon and company. We initially hired Faith to do day of coordination. When we realized our venue wasn't aligning with our values and couldn't meet our COVID-19 precautions we decided to switch gears and have an outdoor wedding at a family home. When we made this decision to change with only two and a half months left, we knew we couldn't do it without having Faith on board as a full service planner. We have no idea how Faith basically planned an entire wedding and created a venue with less than three months. But she did it and our wedding was absolutely beautiful. Faith and her team understood our vision of an organic, inclusive, and romantic wedding. From the vendors she identified to the partners used, you could tell that every part of our day was intentional and personal. For us it was really important to support diverse businesses (POC, women, LGBTQ+, veteran owned) and Faith had all the right partners that aligned with our values and vision. In addition to how the wedding came together day of, Faith was an outstanding partner throughout the entire process. We had a lot of anxieties around having our wedding at a family home due to typical family quarrels and heightened family input, but Faith navigated some of these tricky relationships as if she does it in her sleep. She understood our concerns and worked with family, all while ensuring that it remained our vision. There was never a moment where we felt like Faith wasn't 1,000,000% in our corner. Not only would Faith have been an A++ wedding planner for traditional weddings, but she breaks the scale for COVID weddings. Between high-risk parents and grandparents, and almost 200 total attendees (guests and staff), I sometimes wonder how no one contracted the virus but that wasn't due to chance. Between Faith and her team checking temperatures upon arrival, distancing tables seated per household, and individual pens for each guest book signature (only to mention a few things), we were completely confident in having our wedding at such an uncertain time and we're forever grateful that we had such an amazing partner for our day.
