I ask "Sorry, could we please make our order so that we can at least sit?" Staff still ignores me. After another 5 minutes the same person who ignored me says "I have no more beepers. Come back in 5 minutes." WTF? 20 minutes standing and waiting in line - just to come back in another 5 minutes so that somebody MIGHT take my order then?! Vienna is not short of good Italian restaurants! If I pay EUR 9,50 for a pizza I generally expect a nice table and a waiter. So if I queue for EUR 9,50 then I'd at least expect it to go fast and to be treated with respect. Vapiano: not okay! I always liked your food, but you won't see me so soon again!!

Our first stop was Huth Ristorante Da Moritz. They said, as I knew, that they were booked for the night. I shared our story, and that I was STARVING, and the maitre de kindly said that we could have a table for 75 minutes. That was enough for us!! We were so grateful, and had an absolutely delicious meal in a lovely atmosphere with friendly kind servers. What a wonderful way to start our three days in this beautiful, historic city. My husband had pasta with bolognese sauce which he was very happy with, and I had the house special salad with grilled chicken, along with a generous service of garlic focaccia bread. My only partly negative comment is that the bread was oozing with butter/oil/garlic. I am sure many people like it that way but it was a bit much for me, although I ate a few pieces!
