The pasta is so authentic and delicious--it honestly felt like I was back in Italy. And if you're a gluten-free , you're in luck! I also got the torta caprese, a gluten-free dessert, and it was honestly one of the best desserts I've ever had. One of the best meals I've had in a long time. Definitely don't skip this place!

Service is interesting - only one waiter who takes the order and brings the food and drinks, one busboy, one person you pay at the cash register. One chef you see through the window. Found Trattoria Totò, a small Italian restaurant while walking to our favorite coffee shop in…read moreAmsterdam, and we decided that we should make a reservation for that night right after dropping our bags off at our nearby hotel. Boy, we got lucky that we did. My parents and I have been in Europe for almost two weeks now and I kept thinking that I was in Italy the entire time while at this restaurant, as we did so much traveling. It was within walking distance of the hotel we were staying at, which was a plus. The restaurant is so small that it only has about eight tables and one waiter doing all the work, plus two chefs working in the kitchen. During our time there, lots of people that did not have a reservation were being turned away. We were seated at a table that had a decent view of the kitchen, though trying to get into my seat was a little tight. We started off with a glass of Pinot Grigio white wine, which is basically what we've been drinking at like every restaurant during our trip. This time, rather than sharing a bottle that was at our table, we just had the wine from the glass. After trying out so many different kinds of white wines over the past two weeks, I think I've grown to enjoy them so far. The food here was outstanding and delicious. I had the Pasta Bolognese, my dad had the ham and mushroom pizza, and my mom had the ravioli. The pasta just exploded with flavor in my mouth, including the Bolognese itself. My dad commented that this was one of the best pizzas he's ever had so far, and my mom commented that her ravioli was super flavorful, including the sauce that came with it. This is your taste of Italy right here in Amsterdam. Would highly recommend to other people!

The service is excellent, food is delicious and you can sit outside as you enjoy people pass by over a nice glass or bottle of wine! If you order their signature dish - fresh pasta with truffle and parmesan cheese, they invite you to take part in viewing as they prepare something you don't see very often - pasta served out of a giant flaming parmesan cheese wheel! Leonardo and Maurizio were our excellent servers who made our experience that much more special. At the end of our meals, they serve you homemade limoncello. We may have to go to back to The Hague every year just to eat here!

I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone of any class…read more The service here was extremely slow. Although we were seated quickly, our waiter had an interpretation on us as we didn't order wine. We then had to wait over 30 minutes to just order our antipasto while many other tables were helped every few minutes. The tables that were helped quickly were dressed as they seemed to have a lot of money. Once we finally ordered, the waiter continued to have an attitude and took down my order wrong. The food itself was okay at best. I ordered gnocchi and received pasta. Another ordered raviolis which were drenched in oil. My pasta was over cooked and tasted like straight olive oil. For the price and the service I would not recommend unless you're looking to get ripped off.
