Pensavo Peggio - The best lasagna you will ever eat.

Happy to say this place is still just as amazing as I remember it almost 10 years ago!…read more A couple of girlfriends and I discovered Pensavo Peggio during our first trip to Italy in 2017, and it quickly became one of the reasons Florence became one of my favorite cities. Back then, I ordered the Osso Buco, Lasagna, and Tiramisu--and I still remembered how incredible everything was. So, of course, when I returned nearly 10 years later, I had to order the same meals... and yes, I said meals! Fabrizio, the same server who took care of me in 2017, asked, "Are you sure you want two dinners?" I told him, "Yes! I want to try them both." Fast-forward to 2026: I walked back in two days ago, reminded Fabrizio of our conversation, and told him I was ordering both again. He immediately started laughing. Some things never change! My boyfriend ordered the pappardelle and instantly fell in love with it. We also shared a delicious cheese and meat platter and, of course, finished with Tiramisu. Nearly 10 years later, Pensavo Peggio still holds a special place in my heart. Highly recommend this cute little spot! It just goes to show that sometimes the best memories--and the best meals--are found when you venture off the beaten path. Some places are simply worth coming back to.

It's close enough to the lively, bustling part of Firenze to feel connected, yet just far enough to escape the city's never-ending wave of tourists. The service was incredible, and the owner (I'm pretty sure it was the owner?) brought so much energy that he single-handedly turned the whole place into an eclectic little spot during the "rush hour" of the evening. The menu was solid, if a bit "generic" at times. While everything we ordered was delicious, nothing at Trattoria Giovanni felt like a dish you couldn't find elsewhere... and honestly, that's perfectly fine! It was traditional, comforting, and exactly what we were craving. The plate of cured meats and cheese was phenomenal, a great start to the meal. The pastas were really good as well, though one of the meat dishes had a slightly off texture, with the chunks of meat a bit overcooked. All in all, we loved our meal and would definitely recommend this spot if you're in Florence.

We were greeted and seated immediately! We decided to order the prefixed menu and my husband also ordered the wine pairing! So impressed with the presentation! Creative and fun to enjoy! The flavors were phenomenal! Each course was introduced and new set of utensils provided. Utensils were placed on a flat decorative stone. First time experiencing the utensils placed this way! Wonderful way to place the utensils on the table! My favorite was the ravioli with liquid Parmigiano cream!! Reminded me of the Asian soup dumplings! I absolutely loved this ravioli! We selected the fish as the main course. First time eating Amber Jack Fish It was so delicious! So much fun to eat the Nello dessert with crackling sugar! No utensils! LOL We used our fingers and moist toilettes were provided! SWEET RIBOLLITA White beans, carrot, celery, black cabbage, white chocolate and olive for dessert! A healthy dessert with veggies that was amazing! The small pastries presentation was MAGNIFICENT! And every pastry was delectable! The wine paired with the dessert was a sweet sensation! I took a sip! Highest compliments to the Chefs and Team! Thank you! Highly recommend! Grazie for such a special night !

We stumbled upon this while driving from Florence city center to the Tuscan countryside (USA tourists;) and yelp led us right. A limited menu with a few different tasting menus, we went à la carte and had the exploding raviolis and boar tagliatelle and they were both SO SO SO DELICIOUS! Small-er, but well appointed art deco-type decor...with one waitress and one sommelier...the wine recommendations were perfect! Things that sounded 'different' than what we are used to, just worked...and worked perfectly. Don't negate this place for its limited menu or combinations that you might not be used to, give it a try bc EveryThing we put in our mouths was top notch. Truly deserving of its Michelin Star rating. It's really that good. A closed-minded me from my youth would have written it off based on its pretentious-sounding dishes, but older, open-minded me did me a favor. Yummy in my tummy. Satisfying. Delicious. Don't miss out!

Osteria del Cinghiale quickly popped up on my radar, so I asked the concierge at our hotel to make us a reservation. It's clearly a very popular spot--when we arrived, there was already a line up at the door. The Mr. had the sirloin strip steak with roasted potatoes. I had the beef filet with Chianti sauce as well as roasted potatoes. Our steaks were cooked to a perfect medium rare and the potatoes were so satisfying. We shared an order of grilled vegetables and had a carafe of the house red which we enjoyed. In fact, we loved everything about our experience. The food, the vibe, the service was all amazing! For dessert, we shared the tiramisu and the strawberries with mascarpone cream. The tiramisu was the best we've ever tasted anywhere. In our two week's stay in Italy, this was one of our favorite meals of the trip! To avoid disappointment, please make a reservation.

It went well with other pasta dishes like the Tagliatelle Con Ragù Di Coniglio or the Osso bucco, Pappardelle Al Ragù Di Cinghiale . . . of course with the Brunello & Chiati Classico The dining that night felt intimate yet party-like with nary a wiggle room. You don't get that often in the U.S. We never ever felt rushed despite the wait crowd out the door. Manager there was especially accomodating to us tourists. My 5 star rating has a lot to do with their boundless can-do spirit. A country house vibe rustic food with an outsized Italian howdy y'all. We will be back
