Considering I did not have the thousand some dollars the repair on my car was going to cost (new muffler/exhaust and new rotars and breaks), I went with J&D and got my parts from my brother in law. The office is run by Judy, who was very sweet and helpful. Her husband Doug, the mechanic, was as nice as nice could be. The shop is in the large garage behind their home. I think one of the most important things about having a mechanic is knowing you can trust them. Doug showed me the breakdown of the prices, showed me on the computer he was getting me the best possible deal, let me sit in the garage with him while he worked on my car (what mechanic do you know does that?!) and actually showed me how the parts worked, what they should look like and what they shouldn't. He even told me to bring my tire back to Firestone as it was defective instead of trying to sell me a new one. If you're looking for a good, honest mechanic THIS is the place to go. Their waiting room is a bit small, but they have loads of cats (and when I went kittens!) to keep you company while you wait. The pricing was fair and Doug will chat with you and explain everything down to the cent so you don't walk away feeling ripped off. He has three grown kids who he will proudly tell you about while he works, and has a genuinely good work ethic since he was a nurse (and I believe still is part time. All of which I found out while he repaired my car haha). He even did a few extra repairs when he opened my car up and saw I had a bad axel, instead of bringing me back for a separate appointment. He stayed late to get the car going instead of kicking me out, and even diagnosed other issues I was having so I could return soon to get the car completed. In the end, I ended up saving $400+ on my repair. If I could give them more stars I would! If you're tired of feeling like a money machine and want some good honest work done on your car, I can't recommend giving this business a shot enough.
