They didn't call and tell me the price had changed until the fix was done. They also called at 4:30 PM to tell me the car was ready and that if I payed by card they would add a 2.5% fee. So I had less than half an hour and no car to try to somehow get over $900 in cash or pay an extra $25. Really felt like they were trying to make a buck there. If they had told me when I called to make the appointment or two days later, when I dropped it off, I wouldn't have batted an eye. But to do it with so little time was really irritating. I also told them that I don't use my air conditioner and wasn't worried that it wasn't working when they said they found it was out of Freon. They filled it with Freon anyway and charged me $40 for it. I won't be back.

I spent thousands of dollars with Ace trying to make my MINI safe and reliable for myself and my…read morechild. I specifically expressed concerns about its safety and relied on their inspections, repairs, and reassurances that the vehicle was safe to drive. Ace performed a multipoint inspection on July 24 and did not document a coolant leak. My car was subsequently back at Ace for additional repairs and diagnostics, and I returned it again on August 20 because I was concerned about noises and a brake warning. It was returned to me around August 28. No coolant leak was documented to me during these visits. Only a few weeks later, on September 27, my MINI suddenly overheated and began stalling. I got safely off the road and had it towed to Ace. Their own diagnostic report states the vehicle arrived "BONE DRY ON COOLANT" and that their pressure test found the oil filter housing/oil cooler leaking coolant. They then told me the head gasket had failed and the vehicle needed an engine. When I asked the owner what Ace could do to help, I was told they were not responsible, accused of continuing to drive the vehicle while it was overheating, and told to remove it from their property. I dispute that account and have timestamped documentation from the incident. After posting my one-star review, Niki texted me personally. She again blamed me for the engine damage, stated that I "had no coolant leaks before this," told me my review affected her monthly bonus, and told me I was "fired as a customer." I understand that cars can develop new problems. What I cannot get past is that my vehicle spent a significant amount of time at this shop, I spent thousands trying to make it dependable, and within weeks of getting it back I was left with a vehicle that Ace itself documented as bone dry on coolant with an identified coolant leak and catastrophic engine damage. I have preserved the vehicle, repair records, diagnostic reports, photos, videos, and timestamped communications, and the matter is being reviewed through my insurance claim. I genuinely wanted Ace to help me make my car safe and reliable. Instead, I am left without a functioning vehicle and deeply disappointed by how I was treated when I asked for help. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend Ace Auto Doctor.

Fast forward, I picked up my vehicle expecting the issue to be resolved, the next work week I went to start my car and it immediately was overheating. The coolant was full and I've never had this issue before so it was obviously an error on their part as this was my first time handling the car since pickup. I called about the issue they demanded I have it towed to them on my own dollar and even if they found out the issue was due to them they would not cover towing. The lady on the phone even went as far to blame me for the issue. Very disappointed with the service at this point I decided to just bite the bullet and cover the towing in hopes of them fixing the issue they caused free of charge vs another business that would surely charge me as they did not service the car originally. Unfortunately that was not the case they continued to blame me for the new overheating issue while coolant was full on me and insisted on charging me again for their mistake. We had to replace the flat tire with the 'donut'. We continued to the Quad Cities and stopped at Hughes Tire to attempt to have the tire repaired . We talked to Chuck and he was most helpful and friendly. He suggested we leave the tire and come back after the appointment. We did. He called us later to let us know that the tire was not repairable as the sidewall had been seriously damaged. Unfortunately they did not have the tire we needed in stock and could not get it until the next day. We decided to drive home on the back roads, as suggested by Chuck, on the 'donut'. When we arrived to pick up our damaged tire we were met by another employee who loaded the tire for us and volunteered to have the pressure checked and adjusted in all the tires for us. A third employee offered to check the torque on the lug nuts of the 'donut' which was good as a couple needed tightening. All three employees went out of their way to help us and make sure we felt we were safe on our trip home. They were all friendly and very accommodating. And for their service there was no charge. They had prior approval to replace the Starter and/or Alternator if necessary. They called me at work a few hours later. It turns out that both the Starter and Alternator were fine and it was just a battery cable. I appreciate the honesty and finding out the repair needed was minor compared to what I thought it was. I have now had three good experiences with Duck Creek. I will definitely be back if and when I have another issue. I really trust these guys.

They also had a screwup on one of our cars and gave us a cheap bottle of alcohol that they get local as a sorry because they refused to give us any sort of discount. Yes, your oil change be cheaper versus going to a dealership , but you must first decide if it's worth the hassle! On another occasion, it took three times to change our oil! 1st they couldn't set the sensors right then they overfilled the oil, twice! We had to return two times to get the oil drained off! And not a single apology. In fact they were quite rude when I went in.
