My transmission went a month ago and sat at Security Ram in Amityville with a ridiculous amount to replace... no phone calls letting me know anything .. I called Dennis at Transmission Technicians on a Thursday morning he had explained everything in complete detail of what needed to be done.. he reminded me of all the honest mechanics back in the day when my Dad would take me .. he towed it to his shop told me he would speak to me within the week. Needed a rebuild of my 1995 Corvette's 4 Speed A/T (4L60E). Got a decent estimate price which was the actual repair price. Spoke to Dennis who said they could do it in a few days. Had them install a rear main seal and drive shaft U joints while they were doing the rebuild. Dropped it off, he called me a day later and said I could pick it up the next day. If I was able to give them zero stars I would. I dropped my Pontiac Trans Am off on Monday once they opened to repair a damaged rear differential. I received a phone call in Wednesday afternoon that they were unable to work on my car because it was high performance and they would be able to refer me to a shop in MINEOLA! This was after I was quoted a labor price and given a statement the car would be looked at Tuesday and ready by the weekend for an event I was attending. Miles were put on the car for no reason. Agreements were broken and a poor communication overall. When I decided they were going to be unable to fulfill they're stated agreement I went to pick my vehicle up and the doors were unlocked! This car is a 1 of 1,500 garage kept, not left outside for days on end. read more

I'd definitely recommend Transmission Technicians, I originally had my X5 truck at BMW and realized BMW wasn't focused on the main/underlying issue and after doing careful and extensive research I came across MINHS and the mechanics knew what they are doing there and figured out I had a transmission issue. Transmission Technicians picked up my lifeless truck, carried it to their facility where they performed great surgery on my transmission. I've met the owner Dave and the main guy Dennis who took me through the procedure process step by step when my truck was admitted. You have to actually get the service they provide to fully understand, me giving 5 stars and me explaining doesn't do enough Justice. After they picked up my truck BMW X5 with the tow truck/ambulance they informed me it was on premises and I received my truck back like Dennis told me from the beginning within 2 weeks. I am completely satisfied with their service although it's deep in long island traveling from Brooklyn was well worth it. read more

I had a what looked like a small oil leak from underneath my jeep liberty. It is a 2011 but only has 14,000 miles. My mechanic said it was a transmission seal leak. I decided to bring it to Transmission Techs for a second opinion. David was kind enough to put it on a lift and he and 2 other employees confirmed, it was an engine seal that was leaking. Even though they are extremely busy, they scheduled an appointment for the next week and even checked to see if my oil wasn't low. I was impressed by the cleanliness of the shop and the professionalism of everyone. Their price was fair and they drove me home after I dropped off my vehicle. The repair took 2 days and no more leak! I would highly recommend them they took extra care to keep my jeep clean and made this a positive experience. I had them tow my 2003 Acura CL Type S to this shop on a recommendation from my general mechanic. The auto transmission was shot. I was given a quote which would have others junk a car this old but my car only had 50k miles on it and excellent shape otherwise inside and out. It also had a complete CompTech upgrade including supercharger, headers, suspension and more. It's been six months since getting the car back and the tranny has been running fine. Still have another 18 months warranty on it so I have no problem giving this establishment 5 stars. read more

I was out of warranty so I went to see Dennis , he took care of everything for me and had my car back to me in 3 days. He will quote you one price then later after they take out your transmission almost double his original quote!!! Now you're stuck! Such nice people! I had my son's car towed there with suspicion of transmission trouble, they called in the couple of hours promised and told me the truth! "Not the transmission Ms., looks more like a fuel pump or a clogged catalytic converter". They kindly waited for my tow truck to come pick the car up and return it to my house, special note, they OFFERED TO PICK UP MY CAR FOR FREE if my towing service was not free! read more

Be careful if you have a classic car. They had my car for over 2 weeks. They put a new clutch in and my car was grinding putting it in 1st gear. It never did that before. A few days later my torque tube fell off because they forgot to tighten the bolts. They came and flatbedded it back to there shop. 2 weeks later I pull the engine to rebuild it and find all the wrong parts they put in. Wrong clutch,wrong clutch plate,wrong pilot bearing and throw out bearing. I returned all the parts to them and they gave me a check for the parts but they would not give me back any labor cost of the shabby work they did. Again if you have a classic car I don't recommend this place. read more

This is my first time utilizing this shop and I had a great experience with them. I own a busy limousine service in the area and one of my SUV's transmissions felt loose. I brought it into their shop and they got it done right away. Ian was the person whom arranged my service and Chris was the technician. They got a great team of people that know what they're doing and got it dove right. I am on a barter group and there were shops offering the same service on full barter rather than 50/50 barter/cash but I trusted them and got a great product in the end. I've gone to other places before and none are as good as these guys. read more
