Where can you go at here the owner say no charge! Well that's exactly what happened I brought my car in cuz it was slipping. I brought it on the recommendation of a owned through one of the Companies we work with. I dropped it off came back the next day he topped it up with transmission fluid and said no charge but he doesn't work on my type of car but it ran so much better with just that little bit of oil that he put in. Unfortunately he doesn't work on my type of car which is an Audi A4. Richard polite way of saying I'm not interested in working on your car. I recently met Wayne and his team thru my coworker who also used Habby's for a transmission replacement on his Acura a few years ago. I also knew of Habby's from my own friends and family who are also in the Automotive repair business but not specialized in Transmissions. Habby's is a family owned business, second generation Transmission specialists. (which is rare). I personally believe it is of great value these days. I own a classic 30 year old 95' Lexus LS-400 which recently developed a shift problem @ about 125,000 miles. A repeated code on the dash with a check engine light flashing and the ECT-PWR light flashing. I explained the problem to Wayne, who by the way always made himself very available to speak as we discussed it on several occasion. before I was able to schedule a drop off. Wayne and his team are very responsive, I will say every time. Wayne also stated he has specific technician's he only wants to work on certain vehicles such as my own. Wayne gave me the worst case scenarios of it I needed an entire transmission or the lowest case scenario if we replaced all the solenoids in the valve body possibly causing this problem. I told Wayne do what you need to do based on you troubleshooting the codes I also diagnosed and if it needed anything else to give me a call. I left the car for a week, and I did not bother him. That Friday at 3:00pm he called me to say, "Your car was done and ready to be picked up." He said he changed an additional solenoid which he recommended, because it can also produce the same trouble codes. I appreciated his proactive decision. He also took care of a chronic leak from the original transmission pan. All was repaired internally without the need to replace the entire transmission. My Lexus once again shifts like the day I purchased it from Ralley Lexus in Glen Cove 30 years ago. I will never sell this car. Bottom line Wayne is an honest professional who I would recommend 100% to anyone. Wayne and his team has more than earned my trust. Thank you for your exceptional service Wayne !!! After bringing my GMC van to several places to find out why I have a bad vibration when driving, I was told that I needed a new transmission. This was really painful as the van only has 60,000 miles on it and I had purchased it new and always took good care of it. Then my regular mechanic referred me to Wayne at Habby's Transmission and Wayne took the van for a ride with me. He immediately told me that he did not think it was the transmission. We stopped and got out and Wayne was feeling the tires and told me he felt that there was something wrong with the tires and not the transmission at all. It turns out that the tires, which were brand new, had a defect in one of them. I'm so glad I went there as I was ready to spend thousands of dollars to have a new transmission put in. If one was to know anything about cars, one would know that this place OVERCHARGES for no reason!! My boyfriend got a 1997 Honda Prelude and one of the workers told him that they're gonna charge him $700+ just to find out the issue. And then when they find out the issue, they will charge more to fix the issue. So this definitely would've costed him over $1k! Anybody who knows about cars will know that this is an automatic RIP OFF. $700 just for service? Nope. My boyfriend eventually hit up a mechanic he knew and this mechanic was able to find the issue and fix the issue for only $400. Instead of bringing your car here, do yourself a favor and hit up a mechanic who won't steal your money. read more

Update ... On Halloween (10/31/19) my rebuilt tranny had its 5 year anniversary. My car has over 94,500 miles and the rebuilt tranny with 35,500 miles has been flawless thanks to Habby's! read more

I was recommended to come here by one of my friends, and I'm so glad I came here. I brought my car in because my car had a transmission oil pan leak, and I also informed them about a noise I was hearing when I would turn the steering wheel to the left...before they did any work on my car, the called me and informed me that I also needed to replace the hub bearing on the passenger front side. Bought my twins their first car 2006 Hyundai Sant Fe. Like most old cars its got some issues. Tranny started shifting hard and slipping. Wayne the shop manager asked me to leave car for a day. They tried several things but ultimately the vehicle will need a new tranny. Wayne simply returned my vehicle and said whenever im ready let him know. I had others tell me I need a new tranny but then tried to sell me on the spot. Also no one took the time to reflash the cars computer to reset the tranny or drive the vehicle to see if it was a smaller issue. I've racked up 140,000 miles on a transmission that was rebuilt by them with 1 issue which they bent over backwards to fix even though they really didn't have to because the transmission was out of warante. My son's car was a large paperweight in the street due to not being able to retain coolant with a corroded water pump heater pipe. After over a month of trying all Honda's across the country and Canada, ebay and any site I could think of, I was unable to find the OEM part needed. My neighbor suggested I call Habby's and that they may be able to manufacture something to fix it. I spoke with Wayne who told me he would look into it. He called the next morning and said he couldn't find the part and suggested a place in Hempstead that may be able to manufacture the part if I took it off my car and went there with it. I was trying to figure out how I would do that when within a half hour he called again and advised he was able to pull strings and get the part! (backordered with Honda since 11/20 and the very short supply is hoarded by Honda - even to their own customers). I wanted to give him the business to install since he was able to do what no one else could. He told me to pick it up and take it my mechanic since it is not their specialty. He got it overnight and called for me to pick it up. Went over and he only charged me what he paid for it! I am very grateful for the kindness and going out of his way to help. Biggest ripoff ever. Brought my van in for a heater core quoted $400. While they were working on my car they called me and told me it was going to cost a $125 more because they had to take off my dashboard. Unfortunately i was in the city and needed my car the next day so I had to pay it. When I picked up my van the rear blower switch was not working and there were loose screws on the floor when I confronted them they told me they didn't touch the switch. They refuse to fix it and said they never touched my dashboard. It took me 5 minutes to fix the problem. I had to remove the emergency brake switch because they wrapped the wires for the blower switch around the brake switch before they reconnected the brake switch to the dashboard. Obviously the owner is a liar and the workers are not capable of doing the job properly or they are being rushed to do other jobs and fail to complete any of them. I suggest bringing your car somewhere else unless you have time to put your car back together after they work on it. If it was possible to give them a lower rating i would because the owner/manager was extremely rude when i caught him lying and stealing. Most shops would apologize and fix the problem in order to satisfy a customer these guys are just assholes. read more

The guys, at Habby's transmissions went ABOVE and BEYOND to fix my 2008 Ford Explorer, They came highly recommended From an old friend so I took it there.They rebuilt my transmission, got it back, it was fine for months, then the transmission was doing crazy things, brought it back several times, they were always pleasant, drove me home, and picked me up. It wasn't a transmission problem. but a computer problem. They recommended an automotive electrical sharpshooter. My truck was truly an ORIGINAL NIGHTMARE...for those who don't know electrical problems, they can really be troublesome. This is the only place that gives you a two year warranty on their work. I recently had them repair my Honda transmission. It was done quickly and at an excellent price. About a month later I had gotten a red light ticket in the mail. I guess on the test drive the worker made a right on red. I went back to the shop and no questions asked they paid for the summons.
