Needed to have my transmission and transfer case replaced. Yes, expensive but the price I received was very competitive. The owner and staff couldn't have been nicer!! Very knowledgeable as well! read more

Where can you go at here the owner say no charge! Well that's exactly what happened I brought my car in cuz it was slipping. I brought it on the recommendation of a owned through one of the Companies we work with. I dropped it off came back the next day he topped it up with transmission fluid and said no charge but he doesn't work on my type of car but it ran so much better with just that little bit of oil that he put in. Unfortunately he doesn't work on my type of car which is an Audi A4. Richard polite way of saying I'm not interested in working on your car. It's been working nicely ever since thank you guys really nice. No Charge. read more

I'm a dealer and this is who we use because there honest, reasonably priced and nice people who know their business.

Habby's is definitely an above and beyond shop. Wayne the owner is immaculate and tries harder; going above and beyond for his customers. Trust me, he did what no other transmission shop would have done! He made it all worth it, not only for one of our vehicles but for both. Cannot state how great their business is, everyone is friendly, and competent. Value and top tier workmanship! read more

Habby's is my go to from now on with all of my cars and trucks. They just rebuilt my transmission in my Ram and she runs better then new. Awesome guys and top notch work done. I highly recommend Wayne and the guys. read more

I recently met Wayne and his team thru my coworker who also used Habby's for a transmission replacement on his Acura a few years ago. I also knew of Habby's from my own friends and family who are also in the Automotive repair business but not specialized in Transmissions. Habby's is a family owned business, second generation Transmission specialists. (which is rare). I personally believe it is of great value these days. I own a classic 30 year old 95' Lexus LS-400 which recently developed a shift problem @ about 125,000 miles. A repeated code on the dash with a check engine light flashing and the ECT-PWR light flashing. I explained the problem to Wayne, who by the way always made himself very available to speak as we discussed it on several occasion. before I was able to schedule a drop off. Wayne and his team are very responsive, I will say every time. Wayne also stated he has specific technician's he only wants to work on certain vehicles such as my own. Wayne gave me the worst case scenarios of it I needed an entire transmission or the lowest case scenario if we replaced all the solenoids in the valve body possibly causing this problem. I told Wayne do what you need to do based on you troubleshooting the codes I also diagnosed and if it needed anything else to give me a call. I left the car for a week, and I did not bother him. That Friday at 3:00pm he called me to say, "Your car was done and ready to be picked up." He said he changed an additional solenoid which he recommended, because it can also produce the same trouble codes. I appreciated his proactive decision. He also took care of a chronic leak from the original transmission pan. All was repaired internally without the need to replace the entire transmission. My Lexus once again shifts like the day I purchased it from Ralley Lexus in Glen Cove 30 years ago. I will never sell this car. Bottom line Wayne is an honest professional who I would recommend 100% to anyone. Wayne and his team has more than earned my trust. Thank you for your exceptional service Wayne !!! I am extremely grateful.. Tom Pinou read more

After bringing my GMC van to several places to find out why I have a bad vibration when driving, I was told that I needed a new transmission. This was really painful as the van only has 60,000 miles on it and I had purchased it new and always took good care of it. Then my regular mechanic referred me to Wayne at Habby's Transmission and Wayne took the van for a ride with me. He immediately told me that he did not think it was the transmission. We stopped and got out and Wayne was feeling the tires and told me he felt that there was something wrong with the tires and not the transmission at all. It turns out that the tires, which were brand new, had a defect in one of them. I'm so glad I went there as I was ready to spend thousands of dollars to have a new transmission put in. It's nice to know there are some honest business people in this world! read more

If one was to know anything about cars, one would know that this place OVERCHARGES for no reason!! My boyfriend got a 1997 Honda Prelude and one of the workers told him that they're gonna charge him $700+ just to find out the issue. And then when they find out the issue, they will charge more to fix the issue. So this definitely would've costed him over $1k! Anybody who knows about cars will know that this is an automatic RIP OFF. $700 just for service? Nope. My boyfriend eventually hit up a mechanic he knew and this mechanic was able to find the issue and fix the issue for only $400. Instead of bringing your car here, do yourself a favor and hit up a mechanic who won't steal your money. read more

Update ... On Halloween (10/31/19) my rebuilt tranny had its 5 year anniversary. My car has over 94,500 miles and the rebuilt tranny with 35,500 miles has been flawless thanks to Habby's! read more

My car required serious transmission repair. The staff at Habby's was kind, and up front with what had to be done and why it had to be done that way. Within a matter of days, I got my car back and everything was fixed properly. Definitely would recommend this place for transmission issues! Thank you, Habby's! read more

Blew a tranny in my Work truck , they towed it for me and fixed it and warranted it for 2 years plus 30k miles Excellent service Would strongly recommend All family owned and operated from phone call to nuts and bolts I would go back here in a heart beat if I needed another truck fixed read more

Two older Impalas done here. Although they're slow calling you with an update, the work was superior. Cost seems reasonable.

Talked to them on the phone explained our situation and they told us to bring the truck in on Monday. Monday morning comes we limp the truck to the shop they decide to tell us the mechanic is not in and they no longer want the job. Complete waste of time and energy. read more

Warren and Wayne are excellent. They are very professional and back up their warranty. Had a tranny rebuilt by them that got a repair code that was difficult fix. With shear determination Warren fixed the problem. My car now drives like it's brand new. Thanks guys, you Rock! read more

I was recommended to come here by one of my friends, and I'm so glad I came here. I brought my car in because my car had a transmission oil pan leak, and I also informed them about a noise I was hearing when I would turn the steering wheel to the left...before they did any work on my car, the called me and informed me that I also needed to replace the hub bearing on the passenger front side. They were very honest with me about the pricing. I was able to think it Ofer and let them know what I wanted to do. They didn't pressure me about doing all of the work at once...everyone was very friendly! Highly recommend them. read more

Great work on my transmission. We are 3 months in and the transmission I secured and they installed feels at least as good as new. The product was sourced from Lou at Mad Dog Transmissions in Georgia read more

Had my transmission serviced 2 months ago warren Wayne were very professional informed me of the process status of my repair had some other issues that they took care of battery alternator overall I'm a satisfied customer would recommend them to anyone in need of service to your vehicle read more

Bought my twins their first car 2006 Hyundai Sant Fe. Like most old cars its got some issues. Tranny started shifting hard and slipping. Wayne the shop manager asked me to leave car for a day. They tried several things but ultimately the vehicle will need a new tranny. Wayne simply returned my vehicle and said whenever im ready let him know. I had others tell me I need a new tranny but then tried to sell me on the spot. Also no one took the time to reflash the cars computer to reset the tranny or drive the vehicle to see if it was a smaller issue. First time needing tranny work but trust this family owned business after seeing how they treat people whether a customer or not. read more

These guys were great. Very fair, very professional and truly back up their work. I've racked up 140,000 miles on a transmission that was rebuilt by them with 1 issue which they bent over backwards to fix even though they really didn't have to because the transmission was out of warante. My father in law got his van fixed there as well and drove it till the door fell off (literally) without any issues. I'd feel safe sending anyone there read more

Had my car brought there the first tried through an extended warranty company they don't want to pay ended paying them to get the car done just about year after my transmission goes again they covered it under there warranty no problem just wish they were a little more faster then a whole week read more

The two owners were very professional and did everything possible to honor the warranty. They had my truck for two days like they said they would and delivered on time . They also Pointed out an additional issue and took care of it . I would recommend Habby to all my friends and family. Today to stay in business you must always have return customers. Thank you guys for making this experience as stress free as possible read more

These guys are thieves and also incompetent they did my tranny and tried to raise the price of the job and that didn't workout then I drive away in the car and get stuck 5 blocks away I went there for a tranny leak now car don't drive and tranny still leaks court case pending they are being served stay away you will be sorry read more

I am normally reluctant to allow any mechanics near my cars due to previous bad experiences, and therefore normally do all my work (including transmissions) myself. However, my 2002 Jaguar XK8 proved to be outside my skill-set so with much trepidation I took it to Habby's. From the moment I got there it was a positive experience. The mechanics all acknowledge your presence instead of ignoring you. Nick, in the office, and Wayne, the owner, explained my options and gave me a price range. They did the repair in 2 days and had my car back to me for slightly less than the higher number quoted, with a 2 year warranty. The car drives great, shifts smoothly and I can now enjoy it for the rest of the season. Thanks Guys. read more

I was referred to Habby's from the local GM dealership. While I ultimately did not have my repair completed at the shop (for no reason of their own), I found them to be very professional. The manager, Warren was very nice and helpful. I would surely bring my vehicle here for repairs in the future, and surely recommend them based on the professionalism that I experienced there. read more

Warren , Wayne and All are fabulous.. They have done work on my 93 GrandAm and now they are working on my 2005 Avalanche.. Very happy with my service.. Thanks all Joe Greenblatt read more

Biggest ripoff ever. Brought my van in for a heater core quoted $400. While they were working on my car they called me and told me it was going to cost a $125 more because they had to take off my dashboard. Unfortunately i was in the city and needed my car the next day so I had to pay it. When I picked up my van the rear blower switch was not working and there were loose screws on the floor when I confronted them they told me they didn't touch the switch. They refuse to fix it and said they never touched my dashboard. It took me 5 minutes to fix the problem. I had to remove the emergency brake switch because they wrapped the wires for the blower switch around the brake switch before they reconnected the brake switch to the dashboard. Obviously the owner is a liar and the workers are not capable of doing the job properly or they are being rushed to do other jobs and fail to complete any of them. I suggest bringing your car somewhere else unless you have time to put your car back together after they work on it. If it was possible to give them a lower rating i would because the owner/manager was extremely rude when i caught him lying and stealing. Most shops would apologize and fix the problem in order to satisfy a customer these guys are just assholes. read more

The guys, at Habby's transmissions went ABOVE and BEYOND to fix my 2008 Ford Explorer, They came highly recommended From an old friend so I took it there. They rebuilt my transmission, got it back, it was fine for months, then the transmission was doing crazy things, brought it back several times, they were always pleasant, drove me home, and picked me up. It wasn't a transmission problem. but a computer problem. They recommended an automotive electrical sharpshooter. My truck was truly an ORIGINAL NIGHTMARE...for those who don't know electrical problems, they can really be troublesome. I would send any or everyone I know with a Transmission issue to them, they are a family run shop with old school values. Something you don't find to often in this day and age. yours truly, Jim Skow read more

This is the only place that gives you a two year warranty on their work. I recently had them repair my Honda transmission. It was done quickly and at an excellent price. About a month later I had gotten a red light ticket in the mail. I guess on the test drive the worker made a right on red. I went back to the shop and no questions asked they paid for the summons. Stand up guys. Thanks read more
