She wouldn't even allow me to put anything down and was trying to put the gown on me while I was holding everything. I was late due to the train blocking me from being able to arrive on time. Traffic was backed up for 1/4 mile. When I arrived there was no parking space and I had to wait for one. She spoke to me like a child telling me that I need to leave my house earlier. News flash-I can't undo what has already been done. She continued to berate me as I sat in the chair and at that point I told her that was enough and I was not going to listen to any more of her rude talk. I was almost in tears and couldn't see myself sitting there, being belittled and spoken to in an aggressive, rude manner. I left and will not be back. If you don't like me being late due to unforeseen circumstances, I don't need to frequent your business. However, you have no right to speak like that to me loudly in front of all of your customers and staff. I originally sought out this salon to take me further on my natural hair journey and they only brought me backwards. It's as if the stylist I went to purposely wanted to damage my hair. I went to her for simple treatments and it was as if each one took my hair out more and more. Managing natural hair is hard enough as it is, and this salon did not ease the process. Not only did it fail to reflect, in any way, the photo that I provided to show the look I wanted, but it is also the opposite of everything I conveyed via the photo and conversation. After an unreasonable cost (given the horrible result) I will have to spend yet more money IF I can find someone to fix the mess he made. I would provide a photo of this nightmare but I'm not keen on sacrificing that much privacy. No one is obliged to take my warning to heart without evidence, but know this: I am a very rational person with a design background so I know bad design when I see it. Someone reading this may have had a very different experience with Kenneth and enjoyed a great outcome. I see several 5-star reviews--mostly to do with color and/or regarding some other stylist. However, I'd never risk my appearance by using someone who is likely to ignore my request to then create something that is the antithesis of good design. While he can make it look 'acceptable' while you are in his chair, no one would want the horrible, bulky, obviously lopsided (unintentionally) haircut I discovered after washing the 'wax' out of my hair. Yes, he used wax on my hair without first asking me. To be honest.. I would give a minus star for Kenneth, if it was allowed. Buyer beware.
