The "therapist" part of "physical therapist" is very real; my practitioner, Sarah, treated not just my symptoms, but my whole self. Under her care, I improved rapidly physically and also learned so much about my own body and how to care for myself. She balanced trying new therapies with basic core strengthening and flexibility exercises. I was always amazed at her ability to recommend precisely the missing piece in my treatment. Though I originally saw her for chronic low back pain, she's treated all sorts of complaints and injuries in my 2 years with her. I just finished another 8 weeks of PT with Kristin for my upper back/neck area, and once again I'm convinced she's the best Physical Therapist I've ever had, and I've had many others during my 73 years on earth. She lets me work really hard, but is careful to insure I don't get hurt. She's always giving me different and creative exercises so I've never been bored. She finds ways to adapt the PT she provides with her to the PT I do at home. She always gives me copies of and instructions for my home exercises. I also appreciate how honest Kristen has always been with me. You will be greatly blessed if Kristen is your Physical Therapist! Because I…read moremoved recently, and mistakenly thought that my insurance bills were being paid through autopay, my Medicare insurance lapsed. I was hoping that I could get my insurance reinstated quickly but it has taken a matter of months. I was notified by APPT that I owed them some money which I paid yesterday. The amount I owed was $363. After I paid my bill I inquired how many sessions that was for and was told it was just one session. That seemed excessive to me and, on further inquiry, I learned that it was the "insurance" price. The non-insurance price is $110. When I called back today and spoke to Candy she said that there was nothing that could be done. She'd spoken to her colleague who refused to give me the lower price. It seems to me that they could have made a small concession and given me the lower rate as an act of kindness and good customer service, but they refused. When I told Candy that she'd just lost a patient, as a result of that decision, she didn't seem to care at all.
