While I moved to nearby Colorado Springs in August, my first appointment with Manitou was in July (2017). At that point I depended on a cane for walking, but occasionally resorted to a wheelchair. Georgi Gochis applied her cranial sacral and lymphatic drainage skills to getting the lymph moving in my left leg, as well as addressing effects of the accident on my head. Xanthe Alexis assessed the structure in my leg and hip, and determined that certain bones needed to be coaxed into a better position, which she accomplished in short order. Also she advised me on how to walk so the bones would stay in place. Shortly after arrival, I started seeing Joy Williams for medical massage, which has substantially reduced the swelling, essential for Healing. She also relieved aches and pains which migrated into my hips. In conjunction with the physical therapy I was receiving, she also instructed me on how to best stretch so that leg muscles wouldn't cause further aches. I wish I remembered the names of our masseuses but my husband had the male masseuse that does the cupping & a nice lady masseuse. Everything was lovely and wonderful for myself, and my husband was very happy when I saw him when were done. My husband has never had a male masseuse, I was wondering if it would be awkward but he said it wasn't and that is was amazing. He was strong and knew what muscles to work, and my husband said it was the best massage he has every had. I stumbled on Chi Reflexology and, after reading the posted reviews, decided to check them out. Not only is Chi more affordable, but the layout is more aesthetically pleasing and the credit card fee is only $1, not $3 as was required by the other place. I got there at 1:15 requesting a 30-minute foot massage and was asked if I called. I referenced on their flyers that they welcomed walk-ins and was told to return at 2 p.m. (So, future note to self, call ahead to determine best time to get there). Luckily, it is situated in a plaza with a King Soopers, so I had no problem burning the 40 minutes walking around the grocery. Once I returned at 2:00 p.m., I was asked to sit at one of their massage chair (sofa?) and they proceeded with the massage. THIS is what I have been searching for. In Houston, I would regularly get foot massages and finding one to replace that tradition was challenging, but I think I might have found my spot. The massage had me rolling my eyes back into my head while feeling a sense of relaxing euphoria. I don't want to jinx myself, but I might have found my Houston replacement. The massages are done in a large room where both the chair/sofas and beds are placed. Unless, you need privacy, there really isn't any unless you are taken to the rooms in the back. However, it is quiet, and the masseuses seem skilled. At $32 for the 30-min foot massage, I will be back again and on a regular basis. Remember: there is a $1 charge for credit card use, so if you don't want to pay that fee walk with cash. Chi Reflexology, I will be back.
