I am in nurse and in women's health nurse practitioner school, so my back has been through it. I had a patient fall on me back in 2015 that caused chronic back pain that I just dealt with daily. I started my clinicals for school in March and one day just had flare up of terrible back pain and I was not able to attend my clinical that day so I tried stretching but that didn't help, I decided to try a chiropractor again. I came into TOR shaking to be honest, I did not have a good introduction to chiropractic work in my past so I was nervous seeking it out again. I had my x-rays and it was insane how bad my spine, back, and pelvis was. I wanted to help myself so that I could help others and I decided to make a treatment plan. I was thankful to have Dr. Amanda that day I came in because she is just such an amazing person. I told her I never wanted her to crack my neck (PTSD) and she said that was okay and we can work around it. So that first day, she started adjusting me and I immediately felt comfortable and trusted Dr. Amanda, I ended up telling her she can adjust my neck. Well 18 visits later... I am absolutely SHOCKED at how much my neck has changed from when I first came in!! And to think I almost didn't let her do adjustments on my neck! I am so so so thankful for Dr. Amanda for being so comfortable to be around and being gentle. I recently bent over and had a twinge in my back that was so painful I didn't want to move, and Dr. Amanda helped me so much to relieve the pain that same day and continues to everytime I come in. Danielle is my massage therapist as well and she is absolutely amazing at what she does! She is intentional and works on the areas that need help the most. Shortly after, I received a text from an unfamiliar number saying they were busy and couldn't talk, which was already confusing since I didn't know who it was. When I asked who I was texting, the response was unclear and a bit abrupt. Eventually I realized it was the massage place, but the communication was very difficult due to the language barrier and lack of clarity. Around 11:00, I was told they could only do a 60-minute massage if I came immediately, so I adjusted my schedule and arrived early. When I got there, the therapist used Google Translate to tell me she had another client at 12:30 and implied that if I had come earlier (which was never clearly communicated), she could have done the full 90 minutes. At that point, after the confusing communication and change of plans, I decided to leave. The space itself also felt a bit off to me--it had a strong chemical cleaning smell and didn't feel particularly welcoming or relaxing. Overall, the lack of clear communication and inconsistency made this a disappointing experience. I wasn't able to receive the service I had originally booked, and the entire interaction felt disorganized.

I've had a lot of so-so to acceptable but no one really stellar. Jennifer is very competent and her room is well decorated. I've only had two massages with her so far and frankly it does take a few massages while the therapist and client learn about each other and get comfortable. Interestingly enough while I was trying to find a replacement for my 37 year retired therapist I went to a highly recommended by two different Physical Therapists and found that one was expensive but more importantly not all that good. I stumbled on Chi Reflexology and, after reading the posted reviews, decided to check them out. Not only is Chi more affordable, but the layout is more aesthetically pleasing and the credit card fee is only $1, not $3 as was required by the other place. I got there at 1:15 requesting a 30-minute foot massage and was asked if I called. I referenced on their flyers that they welcomed walk-ins and was told to return at 2 p.m. (So, future note to self, call ahead to determine best time to get there). Luckily, it is situated in a plaza with a King Soopers, so I had no problem burning the 40 minutes walking around the grocery. Once I returned at 2:00 p.m., I was asked to sit at one of their massage chair (sofa?) and they proceeded with the massage. THIS is what I have been searching for. In Houston, I would regularly get foot massages and finding one to replace that tradition was challenging, but I think I might have found my spot. The massage had me rolling my eyes back into my head while feeling a sense of relaxing euphoria. I don't want to jinx myself, but I might have found my Houston replacement. The massages are done in a large room where both the chair/sofas and beds are placed. Unless, you need privacy, there really isn't any unless you are taken to the rooms in the back. However, it is quiet, and the masseuses seem skilled. At $32 for the 30-min foot massage, I will be back again and on a regular basis. Remember: there is a $1 charge for credit card use, so if you don't want to pay that fee walk with cash. Chi Reflexology, I will be back.
