I am very pleased with Transfiguration Elementary School in Los Angeles. My son has attended Transfiguration since he was just 2 years old. Over the years, I have seen remarkable growth in him--academically, spiritually, socially, and emotionally. The school has always maintained a strong curriculum with high expectations for student learning, while also recognizing and supporting individual student needs. Academically, my son is a high achiever, and I am incredibly proud of him. That success is not by chance; it is the result of dedicated teachers, faculty, and staff who are highly qualified, deeply caring, and genuinely invested in each child's success. They know their students well, take the time to support them, and consistently go above and beyond to help them thrive. One of the greatest blessings of Transfiguration is its low staff turnover, which creates a stable, unchanging, nurturing environment. Because of this, my son is well known by his teachers and feels safe, comfortable, and confident at school. The environment is structured and disciplined, helping students develop self-discipline, strong morals, and good character. Character education and community are clearly valued--students learn respect, responsibility, and compassion for others alongside their academic subjects. Transfiguration School is a noteworthy school and truly a gem in Leimert Park. The school staff genuinely care about every student--something I have personally experienced and seen reflected in my children's academic and social-emotional growth in Pre-K and Kindergarten. This is my child's first year at transfiguration, and we are both enjoying the school throughly. I love the family oriented environment amongst the faculty and students. We love the fact the school is faith based! The amazing leadership Mrs. Rickenbacker displays is truly amazing and the evidence is in the teachers. I love that my child is exposed to different activities while at school, so not only is he learning educationally he is learning holistically. My children have been attending Transfiguration school for 8yrs we started when my son was 3 yrs old . At that time I was nervous to send him just anywhere and when I found Transfig I knew this was the best choice. Everyone was so welcoming and knew not only my childs name but the parents as well. The staff and teachers are caring, highly educated, and enjoy what they do. I had two sons who went to this school up to 8th grade. My older son entered in 6th grade and my younger son entered when he was in 4th grade. It was the best experience for both of them. They were encouraged, loved and developed skills that they still use to this day. My older son is at UC Berkeley and the other one is entering USC this Fall. I went to this school!! and they treated me soooo bad. I'm 32 and still dealing with the trauma this school has caused me. My mom paid monthly tuition when the principal at the time mr pratt stole everything. My books were beat up, they had no covers and missing pages. Sometimes they made copies or made us partner up with students who had better books. The teachers lacked substance! The teachers treated me like shit. literally!!!!! please do your self a favor and dont take your kids here. I would've been better off at a dam public school. Sooooo ghetto read more

My son entered the Pre-K program here when he was 2 years old. We have nothing but fond memories. The wonderful staff and teachers at Transfiguration were patient and attentive to my child's needs. We much appreciate the effort, as well as the talents teachers and staff members brought to the table to support his achievements. Years ago, when I grew up in Chicago, we didn't learn to read until around 3rd grade. I'm so excited that my child can read in Kindergarten! His curiosity, eagerness, and love of reading bring him to read anything he can get place his eyes on. I owe it all to God, his teacher, Mr. Casanova, as well as the Principal Mrs. Rickenbacker, who is partly responsible for honoring the curriculum. Speaking of the Principal, she takes the time to know each and every student personally. The campus is clean, well maintained, and adorable and the children always seem to be really happy. Transfiguration Elementary is a wonderful place to begin a child's foundation for a lifetime of learning, not only in the academic sense but as a Christian and a complete human being. My kids had a bad time here.The staff are mean to the kids and don't no How to take care of them.My kid was bullied every day for her hair.When she told me about it I took it up to the office and they did nothing.The girl didn't get any punishment at all.The school is very money hungry don't send kids here keep them safe at another school. read more

Horrible. This is where I went for second grade and where a vicious lay teacher tried to force me to write with my right hand. Never did, NEVER Will!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i FELT CRIPPLED. My mother went over there and read them the 'riot act'. The same thing had been done to her brother and it caused him all sorts of problems. I hope people aren't still doing this ignorant crap today. I can do everything with my right that I can do with my LEFT except anything that requires fine motor coordination. VIVA IL MANO SINISTRA! read more
