I just joined a company where, on a fairly regular basis, I need to have tape recorded materials transcribed. Our most recent job was rather complicated: a one-hour panel discussion with a keynote speaker and four panelists... not all of whom spoke English as their first language. We also needed a ridiculously fast turnaround. When I joined the company, I did my research, and Yelp helped me find ITSI. Score! Jeffry and Debra turned around my job within two biz days. They understood almost all of the often technical words, and correctly identified the speakers. Many transcription services just give you a "speaker 1" "speaker 2" etc. This really slows you down when you're writing an article. BTW, VERY reasonable pricing. Can't recommend them highly enough! read more

After hiring them for their captioning services for a movie caption file to be uploaded to amazon video. I was quoted the total project price by the sales rep. When I received the invoice the price then changed to be more. This should have been a red flag, after some more back and forth they changed it to the price that was quoted. Shortly after I receive a message from one of their representatives stating that I would have to pay more for full translation services which would be a 50% cost increase. I had provided a script to avoid this cost which was worked out in the original quote. They carried on to "convert the file to Amazon specs". I received the file and it was uploaded to amazon where it was rejected due to a UTF-8 encoding issue. I sent them the message error and they sent me a new "fixed" file. It was uploaded and rejected again. I then replied to them with the error and that I would like a refund and was not satisfied with their service as the file failed twice now. During the process of asking for a refund, they first told me that it would take 45 business days. I challenged this and they changed it and said 3-5 business days ONCE APPROVED. I asked if my refund is approved and they said they will review it. After 3 days of back and forth on this matter, they finally said they will not issue a refund and that if we wanted they would upload the file to Amazon and maybe that would work. I replied by saying on their website it states 100% satisfaction guaranteed or your money back and we were not satisfied. I asked them for a detailed description of what they actually did to the file. We paid per minute for over an hour of footage to have captioned and compliant for amazon, if no actual translation was taking place and the file kept failing what was this "amazon compliant" captioning service we paid for. I asked for a detailed description/explanation of what they did for our service. All they sent was the invoice line item with the description and cost. They offered little explanation and any they did offer was purposefully vague and void of any real detail. In summary, I would not recommend their services. I know there are issues sometimes and things don't work, I get that. The way they handled this when asking for a refund was the worst I have ever experienced. They gave me the run around for days wasting my time and the time of others. They tried to discourage me by saying the process would take 45 days. They offered little to no detail on the work that was actually done. Don't trust what they quote you if you negotiate on a price chances are there will be additional costs after the project starts to get to that original inflated quote. read more

Easy to use & 100% accurate! I am a Financial advisor whose success depends on having the ability to understand client needs and goals. I am also involved in many community service organizations and the need for having clear and accurate notes of meetings are of the utmost importance. I used the Transcription Service to record a Goodwill Board Meeting and was shocked at how they transformed the entire meeting into exact paper notes. All I had to do was carry a recorder half the size of a cell phone and turn it on. Within a few days, I had the meeting in my hand, word for word, and spoken by whom. It was certainly better than the minutes that were taken by hand. Jeffry was also very professional and available to answer any questions I had. This is an excellent service for attorneys, CPA's, and other professionals like myself. I highly recommend it! read more

My working relationship with Jeff and Debra Kalmon of ITSI started years ago, in 1991, when they were one of the primary contractors in my referral network and just beginning to grow their business. They have gone on to become one of the most professional and successful transcription businesses I work with, and they are still among my most preferred service providers. They make sure to keep up with the latest technology so as to be the most convenient service customers can use. In addition to always providing the best possible transcription product, they are always there with warm, caring and responsible customer service and unsurpassed attention and follow-up. I refer clients to them frequently, knowing they will unfailingly meet deadlines, produce high quality transcripts, and keep their clients "in the loop." read more

On Fri., Apr 19, 2019 at 5:46 PM I created a ticket with Vanan to have my birth certificate translated and notarized. I paid the extra $25 for the 1 day expedited service and was told via the live chat that I would receive my translated and notarized document within 24 hours. However, this was not to be the case because of good Friday. If this was known, why would the contact via live chat then tell me that I would receive my translated and notarized document within 24 hours. I did receive an email from a Vanan rep, the same day, who stated "I would like to clearly explain that you have placed the order on 04/19/2019 with the turnaround time of 1 business day. From the time of payment, Monday will be calculated as the first business day, since Saturday and Sunday are weekends." So then why would the live chat person tell me that I would receive my translated and notarized document within 24 hours. If it was clear that service would be impacted by Good Friday why was I told I was paying for a 24 hr turnaround service. They have got to get their explanations straight and train their staff to be accurate. read more

I had never used a transcription service before, and I didn't know where to start. I found ITSI through a Google search, and I am very happy I did. We were very pleased with the services we received from ITSI. They made the project easy for us - and their finished product was flawless, and the price was fair. We will use ITSI again in the future, and I would recommend them to anyone. read more

Recently we needed to get a transcription from a recorded business meeting that I attended. It had to be super-accurate because it detailed the action items expected from the meeting participants. From the outset it was clear that Jeff Kalmon of ITSI was the right person for the job -- because of the many wonderful Yelp reviews by satisfied customers. Jeff immediately understood what was needed and how to proceed. He explained that there's a type of transcription used by lawyers, doctors and other professionals, which certifies that the transcript accurately represents the recording on which it's based. Jeff is the consumate professional: very pleasant to work with, smart, with wonderful advice on how to have the finished product turn out right. He's experienced, organized, responsive, prompt, and knows how to use technology to produce top-notch results. Turn-around time was fantastic, finished product was totally flawless and the cost was quite reasonable for the amount of work involved. Because of the transcript, all meeting pariticpants wound up doing exactly what they agreed (a welcome relief, and the reason the transcript was needed.) read more

We had ITSI (Debra Kalman and company) transcribe a bunch of YouTube videos for us on scientific and technical matters. Not only did they do a great job at a reasonable price, but their transcriptions were so good that I could take any error in transcription as indicating our failure to speak clearly or use understandable vocabulary. So, this acted as important feedback to help us improve our communication skills. It is rare to work with people where, when you see a error, you can be confident that it is your failure, not theirs. Highly recommended. The transcripts will be linked from this page within a few days, if you want to check them out: http://dge.stanford.edu/labs/caldeiralab/Caldeira_Videos.html read more

My office has now twice used ITSI (specifically Debra Kalman) for transcribing documents with quick turnaround times. Both times, she was extremely helpful and flexible with scheduling these last-minute projects, and turned them around by or before the time requested. Both transcriptions were extremely accurate. Based on other quotes I've received from other transcribers, ITSI's prices are very reasonable. I highly recommend them for your future transcribing projects. I look forward to working with them again, when the need arises. read more

Incredibly professional, friendly and super fast turn around service, so swift and good we are constantly using TS in the making of our books - and will continue to do so in the future. Our books are mostly about LGBT issues and therefore often times contains stories, very sensitive subjects and TS has handled everything with great care and respect. read more

I can't say enough about Debra and Jeffry -- professional, friendly, and absolutely rigorous in their attention to detail. My work was delivered when promised and the process could not have been simpler. I downloaded digital files to a dropbox and a few days later, on the agreed-upon dates, I received typed copy in my inbox. I know that my professional productivity will increase dramatically now that I know I can rely on Debra and Jeffry for superior transcriptions services. My life just got a whole lot easier! read more

Absolutely horrible transcription. The frequent mistakes made in the transcripts are not acceptable: things like making positive sentences negative and vice versa (e.g. "It's a problem" instead of "It's not a problem", incorrect word choice (e.g. "sexual money," instead of "extra money"), and other blatantly nonsensical transcriptions that no native English speaker would get wrong (e.g. "That adds a little boy to it" instead of "That adds a little weight to it"). The reason they can produce "transcriptions" so quickly, is because they put almost no care into them. They're cheap; you get what you pay for with these guys. read more

ITSI is top notch for transcription services. Debra and Jeffry are personable, responsive, timely and 100% professional. Super reliable, and excellent work product. The prices are fair and reasonable. For transcription in and around the Bay Area, seek no further. Highly Recommend! read more

In 2008 I had to have a very personal and sensitive transcription done and did not have a clue who to turn to. I was so lucky to have found Jeffry and Debra Kalmon who not only were very professional and reasonable but completely non-judgemental in their approach to my problem. The work was done in a very timely manner and the product was perfect. Unfortunately I had to have an error (totally on my part) corrected recently ( over a year later!!) which they did within hours of my asking them: without a charge. I would certainly highly recommend them to anyone who is in need of this type of service. Call Information Tracking Systems, Inc.!! read more

Do not trust Vanan Online Services. They are a scam. The quality is bad and the notary is fake, they photo shop it. I have had a very bad experince with them. The documents are not legit altough they claim that they are. The judge laughted at me when i presented the transcription. He said " Are you seriously submitting this into evidence?". read more

I heard about ITSI (Jeff and Debra Kalmon) from a colleague who used them a few years ago and thought they were great. I'm so glad I called them - it's been incredibly easy to work with them and has saved me a ton of time. I've worked mostly with Debra and she's very professional. The transcripts are perfect. Turn-around time was fast and the cost was reasonable and worth every penny! I'm planning on using them again in a few months! read more

I had my project submission due in just two days and with hours of audio files that needed transcription, after looking through the pricing and the turnaround time online I was positive that I wasn't going to make it. Vanan Online Services was the best choice I made! The customer service was one among the best I have received, they were patient enough to get my details and also were flexible to add minute custom details to my order which most companies refused. I knew my audio had around 6-7 speakers with both native and non-native speakers of Spanish which is also why I believed it wasn't possible in a due of 2 days. I got my files way before the deadline! I was surprised initially with the way each speaker was identified. My team even agreed the transcripts were done by professional native transcribers, which was the best part. The final product was clear with a very little editing preferences, I just couldn't thank them enough!. A huge shout out to the team! You guys are the best in the industry hands down! Will definitely recommend! read more
