Liz's inviting attitude and lovely smile immediately makes me comfortable and ready to speak with her about any issues that I may be facing. She offered advice, but mostly challenged me to think differently about my situation, posing questions that forced me to think on my own. She came prepared with exercises, book recommendations, and anecdotes tailored to my personality and therapeutic needs and goals. Liz is great at remembering the details and creates a personal relationship with clients. I always left the office with a new energy, eager to remain positive and face the day! I highly recommend Liz's therapy and practice. Thank you, Liz, for your great work.

I cannot speak highly enough of Liz as a counselor. My partner and I began seeing her in October…read more2014, when our 13-year marriage was in crisis. She skillfully and patiently helped us work through some of the issues - both immediate and underlying - that had developed in our relationship, and I can honestly say that our relationship is stronger now than it ever has been. We have grown tremendously as individuals and through that growth, as a couple. Liz is extremely easy to talk to, and someone that you warm up to almost immediately. Her strength lies in her ability to listen attentively, and then help you develop the tools you need to resolve conflict and challenges that arise outside the counselling session. She is highly intuitive and does a wonderful job at articulating the importance of perspective, and the control we have over choosing how we want to proceed in life. After having made significant progress on the issues that we were struggling with, my partner and I continue to see Liz once a month. I also have individual sessions with her that always prove extremely helpful. I leave inspired and renewed, much stronger both emotionally and mentally.

Who really wants to admit that they need someone to talk to about some issue or concern; or for my situation a lot of issues and a lot of concerns. Everyone is a little broken...it's how you glue everything back together that makes you who you are today. Sometimes you need to fix the fix to really heal or cope. Dr. Ryan came recommended to by another therapist of a close friend of mine. I called and made an appointment and have been seeing Dr. Ryan off and on for almost 3 years. Never having been to a therapist I didn't know what to expect. I mean I watched the Sopranos, and every other stereotypical show about "shrinks" so I already had some preconceived notions about therapy. All were shattered by Dr. Ryan. He's a very calm, soft spoken personable individual. He doesn't push you to come out of your shell, but at the same time he holds you accountable for what you are there for. He's easy to talk to and very insightful. I even had homework which aided me in developing certain skills. I can honestly say that the relationship I have with Brit (some of you have met my ever present +1) is stronger and more fulfilling because of the sessions I've had with Doc. He's helped me become a better communicator and has aided me in understanding what are rational and irrational feelings and more so how to convey that to someone when I didn't start out with the appropriate vocabulary to express my feelings or thoughts.

After about 5 sessions, I noticed a change in my anxiety (a harder disorder to see progress in but still) and I saw progress in my energy levels (also hard to explain). I was so happy to have found affordable acupuncture! Then I moved to Chapel Hill and going to Raleigh became inconvenient to travel to. Recently, I've been having issues with TMD (Temporomandibular joint dysfunction). I've hardly been able to chew for the last 3 months. After seeing a dentist and physical therapist for over 2 months, I finally found my way back to acupuncture. After one treatment my jaw was so much looser than it had been. It definitely is not a quick fix but I finally am seeing promise! Basically, if you think acupuncture can't help you, think again. Jim is a great guy and explains everything to you. He answered all of my questions very thoroughly. He just moved down the hall to a larger space. It was still under construction when I went last, but it looks like it'll be great, relaxing space. Hello to all that read my post. I will start by saying i apologize if im long winded. But im a…read moreperson that gives credit where its due. I will also state that if you read all the posts you will see i posted about 3 yrs ago. With that being said here you go. My dealings with Jim started 3 yrs ago. This came after going to chiropractor for over a yr along with my own stretching. I also used the inversion table. The pain and discomfort wouldnt go away. Ive had lower back surgery for spine issues and this pain was differant. So I also used accupunture in past with great results. So I went to 1 near me. After my 2nd visit I knew she was not the 1 for me. Trust me when I say ALL accupunturists are not created equal.. Just like western medicine. Some are specialists for a reason. Sorry to say its called skillsets. So now im on the search and i came upon Jim. Im not going to lie, the first to treatments were tough. Jim went right to work ... I will admit i was like wow and a lil nervous. But by the 6th treatment i felt amazing. The pain was gone. I could sleep and I could hug my other half without pain going down my leg. Here it is 3 yrs later and alls well with my leg. So at this point im like hmmmm. I may have found THE FOUNTAIN OF YOUTH....LOL...So since i was your typical male growing up , I had the mentality of you cant hurt me...well im here to tell you I was wrong. There are days that i ache like i got hit by a car in my upper body.. So Doc ( Jim ) and i chatted and he started on my shoulders. He got me to feeling awesome . Best i felt in yrs and im in my 60s...So i had all intentions on getting back to exercise to maintain my body. Thats the key to a healthy life...well like most americans i didnt start my exercise so i was feeling achy and having issues moving my arms... so i called Jim and said I need your help and we really examined my issues. During that Jim found a muscle group that was weaker then it should be , hence making other muscles do overtime.. So between his work and his exercises im back to feeling good. So all I can say is give this man a try. And give him a chance to figure out whats causing your issues. I can say is it took us years to beat ourselves to this point. Give him some time to figure out what you need. So trust me folks, Jim will get you back to a productive life fast... Thanks Jim for helping me continue my journey to 100...lol
