I used to go to this place all the time. However I noticed that they've raised the prices and do less for more. When I asked why the heel treatment wasn't included anymore I basically got yelled at. My services included a gel french manicure. Estimated completion time = 45 minutes. For 45 minutes, this woman spoke on her phone in a foreign accent. Granted she did a good job, but if i was a manager at this place - customer service is key. Keep personal phone calls to a minimal. At my job and i think several workforces alike, personal phone calls are made during lunch or breaks.... Next was the pedicure...it was timed (by a timer). Which is cool, i got the full 25 minutes of a long massage. Nonetheless, she too did a good job, french pedicure but was so in tune with her music/IPhone. Next waited for my nails too dry. I came to tranquility for a pedicure and gel manicure. They were having a special, I think it was $8 off all nail servies. I can honestly say I had a great experience. I was a walk in an waited less than 5 minutes. The place is very large and has a great ambiance. They have two, very large plasma TVs that play movies. They have tons of pedicure chair and all were very clean. My gel manicure was fast and very well done. It has lasted well over 2 weeks and has not let up at all. So I've been there a few times to get gel nails. They've done an okay job, but one of the last times I had them done the nail tech did something wrong, because two days later half my nails had fallen off. So, I went back to get them fixed that weekend (I work full time in MA so I couldn't get there during the week) and I told the guy what had happened. After he fixed them he expected me to pay!?? I used to absolutely love this place...five stars all the way, I wouldn't dream of going anywhere else. But for the past year or so, I've been really disappointed. It seemed like one day I went in and ALL the "regular" staff members were gone, replaced with a bunch of new recruits who were still learning how to do nails. This Sunday, I got a poorly done pedicure, a poorly done manicure, and a wax so bad it was laughable. ("I can't see the hair," the woman told me. UM, seriously? It's there, and it's dark. Do you need glasses? Better light? Maybe you should get someone else to do it? It's only Monday and I already need another wax.) I've been a devoted customer of this location for probably 15 years now, long before it was called Tranquility...but I don't plan on coming back after this. I am so incredibly upset with this place... I went in for a CLEAN UP on my eyebrows and I specifically told the man that I just wanted a clean up. He changed the shape of my eyebrows and made them thinner. Not only that... but he messed up my left eyebrow making it SHORTER than the right eyebrow. I was so aggravated I paid and left I didn't even complain because honestly there was nothing they could've done to fix it. I will never go back to that place and I'll tell whoever I know not to go. They didn't listen to a word I said which I think was pretty damn simple. OH and they also left hairs all over my face and didn't even tweeze all the left over hair the wax didn't get under or above my eyebrow. I get a gel fill every 3 weeks, and the past 3 times I've gotten them done there 2-3 nails have broken off within a week, and one broke in half within 3 days. TERRIBLE! They always file my nails WAY too short when all I ask is for them to simply shape them and not file each nails til they are short. The people here are rude and not helpful especially when I ask to change something, they argue and say that it looks good when really, they just don't want to spend the time to fix what they messed up. My other friend went to get her prom nails done and asked for an ombrè/airbrush look which she has had done before and they completely messed it up (as shown in the picture) and they said that IT LOOKED GOOD!?!? Ok....I usually like this place. It's not the nicest looking place or tranquil in any sense of the word, but they've always done really good work. I've even written a poor review for another nail salon and told them to go to Tranquility instead. However after my experience last weekend, I will probably never go back. I have never made an appointment with them and usually can get in within a few minutes, even on a busy Saturday. This place is not known for excellent customer service. Another reviewer called it a nail factory, which is a spot on description. Tranquil is the last word that I would use for this salon since there are 15 to 20 nail techs running around, yelling at each other in mass confusion at all times. Last weekend I lost all patience with this place and walked out. They kept me waiting for 45 minutes and I think even forgot about me because when another girl walked in needing the same service that I needed they seemed to try everything to get her a seat ASAP. Eventually I was told to go to a chair. As soon as I sat down they all started talking to each other saying that the girl who arrived after me was there first. I tried to stand my ground and tell them that I had in fact been there a good 10 minutes longer than the girl they wanted to give my seat to, but they insisted that she had called and made an appointment (which I knew was not true since I had listened to the whole conversation she had with them when she arrived). They forced me to give up my seat and go back to the waiting area. I then thought that they would get me in right away since they had rudely kicked me out of a chair. Another 10-15 minutes of waiting went by with no one trying to assist me or repair the extremely poor customer service they had exhibited a few minutes prior. I finally gave up and told the girl at the desk that I was leaving due to them ignoring me and their poor customer service. Her response was, "oh ok, so sorry." I'm usually not somebody who boycotts a store or restaurant due to one poor experience, but this I just can't look past. read more

STAY AWAY!! I was told it was a 10 minute wait, but it was actually an hour. Their polish selection is mediocre at best. They put plastic wrap In the chairs so they don't have to clean them between clients. Sitting in a bed with plastic isn't nearly the same. My chair was broken, too. The tech was talking on the phone and texting during the pedi. He used dirty tools that were not sanitized between clients. My 10 minute callous remover was less than 5. He set a timer for the massage and then stopped before the timer was done. And, after all that, the polish was uneven and poorly done. I will not be back. read more

DO NOT GO HERE FOR WAXING!!! I went last week for a Brazilian wax just before I left for vacation, basically because everywhere else in the area was booked up, and the whole experience from beginning to end was terrible. The woman who gave me the wax (middle aged, apparently the only one there who does Brazilian waxes), was rough and hurried. The whole thing only took about 15 minutes, with no soothing ointment or anything to relieve the skin that she ripped off with no real concern. It was the most painful wax I've ever received, and also it wasn't even completely clean. When I told her there was still hair left she told me 'everyone has some hair leftover, you can't get it all,' to which I replied I had gotten a wax before and the point of a Brazilian is for there to be NO HAIR!! Then, hours later I noticed the area of skin near my my legs were puffy and red and extremely painful. For THREE days they were basically wounds of traumatized skin, which then SCABBED and PEELED. I went back today to get my money back, and STILL the woman was in denial of what a bad job she did. I showed her pictures of it and she asked me to show her my bikini line now, which I refused, and she told me 'everyone is red for a few hours after a wax' I told her AGAIN I have had a wax before don't tell me what 'everyone' has!! Also the pain and redness lasted for several days, which is not normal... It was even oozing at one point, and thankfully I had brought Neosporin with me on the trip to help it. She then offered to give me a gift certificate which I refused since I will not be going back. She finally produced a cash refund, but it was for 42$ and when I told her I paid more than that she told me it was 'because of tax.' I've been going back and forth to this salon for a couple of months now. The only reason I hesitate coming back is because of the conversations the technicians have with each other. I mean it's clear they're either snack talking you or another customer. Also I absolutely hate when someone tells me please hold on, while they're doing my nails to talk on the phone. It's irritating. Today I went in to get an acrylic full set with French as I wanted to try out their acrylic because I usually get gel. (Cost for acrylic is 25, will gel French, 30). When you get there, you have this clipboard with a sign in sheet indicating what you wanna do. They place you on the couches to wait for your technician. The salon itself is gorgeous, I just am highly turned off by the receptionists constantly on their cell phone. I get there and I have to wait for my technician. She seats me and literally said like 2 words the entire encounter. She seems nice, I just would've like more communication especially because I am tipping you on your service. All in all, she did an excellent job regardless of the lack of communication. She did her job very well, taking her time. I can't remember the last time I got French nails and liked them as much as I do now. The only reason I rated it 4 stars was because of how well my nails looked. I would honestly give this place zero stars if I could. I should've known to turn around when I walked in and was not greeted. Instead I had to wait for the gentleman at the front counter to finish whatever he was doing on his cell phone. He did not acknowledge me and actually directed another lady to help me. I was told to sit in chair number 11. It was a young girl whom i thought would be vibrant and friendly. Instead, she was the complete opposite. She was rude from the start. I asked about a light pink color that i had gotten before, but did not see in the bin. She directed me toward another color. I agreed. When it was time to paint my nails, she painted a line and I immediately said "ehh, I don't think that's gonna work" she immediately became defensive and brought the color wheel back over to me. She slammed the bin down and when I asked if there was another lighter color she rolled her eyes at me and said something to the person in the chair next to her. I took a deep breathe and said kindly "I'm sorry I annoyed you, I will go some where else to have my nails done." I went to the front counter to pay for the absolute terrible filing job that she had done on my nails and she followed me to the counter. She claimed that she was not rude and did not have an attitude and started yelling at me about how I was "mean" to her. I explained kindly that usually when someone is paying for a service they expect things such as respect, maybe a smile, but definitely not a degrading attitude and eye rolling. She continued on until the man at the counter sent her on her marry way. I asked the gentleman for the manager and claimed to be it. I asked if he found it acceptable that his employees speak to customers that rudely he said "it's fine, sit at station five she will take care of you." I was hesitant and reluctant to finish my manicure at this dirty, unpleasant establishment, but knew that he intended on charging me $26 for my two painted nails. I sat at station five and much to my surprise, a very pleasant, patient, well mannered and polite young lady assisted me. If I had this young lady from the start, my entire experience would've been much more enjoyable. She was able to find the color that i had spoke of. Turns out one of the color wheels was missing from the bin and the other employee failed to care or notice. This salon is dirty, poorly managed and most definitely not worth spending money to relax. My best friend & I went here on a Friday afternoon to get simple manicures. It was super busy, but we didn't have an appointment so I can't blame them for the 20-40 minute wait. My nail tech was very short, kept trying to upsell me to a gel manicure (even though I kept insisting I didn't want one). She didn't have me stick my hand under the lights between coats of polish, and was a little harsh overall during the service. She dropped me off at the drying station without any instruction & didn't turn the uv lamp on here either. When dry, I noticed my nails were unevenly and sloppily paint r, the worst being my thumb which has a big glob of top coat in the middle and nothing on the sides or top. My best friend was passed between two different techs who were trying to juggling other clients at the same time; the second tech was so aggressive with her cuticles that she started bleeding (which has never happened before). At least her tech had her hands under the lights to harden between coats & the polish was even and neat. An extra star was given because they do give you a nice hand mask & warm towel massage during the service, which was fantastic. There's a man doing neck and shoulder massages at the drying station but her never made it to myself or my friend, so I cannot comment on that part of the service. read more

Not pleased at all. I requested the $13 manicure, which was supposed to include some sort of moisturizing treatment. Not only did I not get the glove treatment, the tech didn't put any lotion on my hands at all. No hand massage, either. She filed my nails and cut my cuticles, cutting me twice. She didn't bother taking off all my old polish, either. And because she didn't soak my hands or have me wash them, there is clearly nail dust and cuticles trimmings under the polish. I also got my eyebrows waxed. I asked for them to be cleaned up, but she instead made them much thinner. And I still have wax on my face. I thought about complaining, but I didn't want them to touch my hands or face again, so I paid and left. Also, I paid before the wax, so I had already tipped her before she did my brows. Horrible. I went there to get the soak off gel nails. First, I already had the gel nail polish on (from another place, that I like WAY better) so I had to soak my nails. They put the acetone in a heating dish...okay so it makes it come off fast...fine. Except when the acetone gets so hot it starts burning my skin! I took my hands out but was told to put them back in because it helps get the polish off faster! I am NOT putting my fingers in burning got acetone! NO! Okay, so that a side. The woman doing my nails was horrible. She did not let the nail polish try before putting the second and third layers on so my nails are all streaky. One started peeling off before I even paid! And now one day later another is chipping! This kind of nail polish is supposed to last 2-3 weeks! Just horrible. I have been to Tranquility for other services because their prices are most reasonable. However, now that I am into the soak off gel polish I will NOT be returning. I do not recommend this place! I visited hoping to get a pedicure. I walked in and the person didn't speak English, had me wait for ten minutes. Finally he sat me at the pedicure station, waited another ten minutes for someone to come start the pedicure, I had my feet in water that got cold after a while. During the pedicure, the attendants are constantly yelling and arguing in their native language, never once do they start a conversation with you or ask if they are hurting you. It has been a week since my pedicure and I noticed the skin on the bottoms of my feet were peeling, I talked to my doctor, he said I had Athlete's foot, proving that this place isn't up to code on cleaning their instruments or their pedicure spas. Such a terrible place, me and my friend cam here to get our nails done for prom and they overcharged me for my gel nail manicure from the price they told me on the phone. When they cut my nails, they created very weird shapes for a few of my nails. I went here for a pedicure and a gel manicure. The pedicure was pretty good, although they kept pushing me to upgrade from the basic pedicure that I asked for. The manicure was not relaxing. She cut several of my cuticles way too short, causing them to bleed. She was looking away while filing my nails causing some of them to be crooked. The nail polish on my fingers is bumpy and uneven.
