Sadly, my experience with this salon was the worst I have ever had with a professional salon for…read moremany reasons. I went to Sheria for hair regrowth after wearing wigs and losing my hair. Sheria was very knowledgeable and I was pleasantly surprised to see my hair begin to regrow so quickly. I was not expecting to see results for about six months and I saw progress much sooner than I expected (please remember hair restoration still takes time and it is important to not expect miracles). Sheria never sent me pictures full pictures that she took during my initial consultation. She only sent me pics of a problem area/scalp condition so I could show my dermatologist, but never pics of my full scalp. I asked for these pics so I could document my journey. Whenever I asked for pics, Sheria would say I was expecting miracles. Not true, I was only trying to document my journey and I actually saw progress sooner than I expected. On my last visit, Sheria finally pulled up my pics on her iPad and let me take pictures of those with my phone. I thanked her for helping me document my progress. The most disturbing part of my experience was not about pictures. It was that I received sores from her treatments. The first time I had a scalp sore, I did not think much of it. This last treatment, I did not know I had another sore until I got home and put up my hair for bed. I am not sure if Sheria noticed the sore, but I will say that all of a sudden before I left she recommended that I put on hydrocortisone ointment on my scalp because my scalp needed healing. This had never been mentioned in the months prior and she even gave me the ointment free of charge. Sheria put the ointment on my scalp before I left. Now I know why. (See pic). I was traveling after my appointment so I did not have the opportunity to tell her about the sore. However, the day after my appointment Sheria abruptly sent me a text long after business hours saying she decided I would be better off at another salon, with no explanation. This was a surprise since I had told her before I left that I was pleased with the regrowth progress I had seen so soon. Also, I was charged different prices for the same hair service. I never questioned her about pricing. I just paid and tipped. I would like to mention that her salon was very clean, which is important to me. However, the one star rating is for her lack of professionalism, poor communication skills, treatments that she mixes herself that are so intense they cause sores, and dropping a client who expressed thanks to her for her services (this was before I found the last sore).

However, the quotes were a bit different from expected but especially the bizarre custom and not verbalized expectations about tipping different people and not paying the stylists directly. The older front desk lady was quite rude and loud about it- very brusque. I didn't want to make it more overwhelming as it already was with the confusing situation. However, I'd like to request management to ensure front desk staff be trained with friendly customer service for paying clients especially if they aren't aware of your custom. I'd like to continue seeing the person I saw next time around but I wouldn't come on the day the old rude lady is there.

I first visited the hair salon and the front desk attendants were very helpful and friendly. Then I went to the location in the back, near the Goodwill store where I received my facial. The students were all very professional. My attendant was knowledgeable, gentle, and accommodating and provided me with a very relaxing and enjoyable "spa-like" experience. Here is why: 1) I respect any woman who books all of her own appointments herself, washes and blowdries your hair herself, and then styles your hair. There was no shampoo assistant in other words. This is a very hardworking lady! 2) Shanni was warm, friendly, and professional without being 'over the top". She's a normal, chill woman earning a living. 3) Shanni has 1 stylists chair in her salon where YOU the client sit, while Shanni styles your hair. You can watch the tv she has on. Having the opportunity to sit one on one with her made me feel very comfortable. When you go to most salons you will see everyone in there getting their hair done. Shanni puts ALL of her FOCUS and ATTENTION on YOU during your time with her. I was AMAZED by this. 4) Shanni took her time braiding my hair for the weave install. This stylist took HOURS on my hair, and not once did she rush or burn me when using the flat iron. 5) Shanni provided me with a complimentary bottle of water upon request. 6) Her tone when speaking to me was very respectful and never dismissive. 7) My hair was done perfectly.
