NOTHING AT ALL! You have a couple of quid supplement on some thing like steak or duck, but otherwise it's a total foodie fest! My starter had lovely ripe fig with soft goats cheese, and the main (Assiette de France) was a pot of olives in fresh herbs and oil, a tomato pickle, a mini baked Camembert, two pairs of frogs legs, two fish cakes and some leaves serve on a slate. The house red wine is Fleur de Lys and the service is polite and connected. What's not to love. Next time I'm here, this is my destination of choice! I have to say how lovely the couple were at the next table. So friendly, with some great tips. The mussels came stacked in a veritable mountain along with a side of chips -- the only issue is that you'll struggle to eat the mussels before they start to cool. The lamb shank came with garlic mashed potatoes and was tender, flavorful, and delicious. The side salad had a simple mustard-accented dressing that worked well. The owner -- Fred -- is very nice and widely travelled. All in all, a delightful experience.

I had the special Salmon risotto and it was fantastic. My fiance has a peppered steak as he was craving manly meat. We then shared a bakewell tart served with Ice Cream at the end of the meal. I really had the urge to try this French restaurant..technically we had to go this way anyway as it was located opposite the train station... Unfortunately it was not open until 7pm so we killed an hour at a local pub. Wandering back we walked into a very cosy place, adorned with collective French art. Luckily there were a couple of tables left ( I would book to save disappointmemt). The head of house gestured to the empty tables and invited us to sit anywhere. His enthusiasm was contagious, and he looked every bit the part in this starch white shirt and black apparel. For £22 You can select three courses from a designated menu or choose freely from the other...average starter costings were £6 varying from snails, soups, meats and seafood.. I love snails but had never tried a decent boulibasse..my mum looked over at another table and spied a woman dig into a large portion of crayfish. However she asked for the potted shrimp which turned out to be a completely different dish!! My soup was stunning, laced with herbs and spices elevating the generous chunks of fish...my mum's potted shrimp did look tiny in comparison and lots of fennel..tasty but I preferred mine. Torn between veal, duck and numerous other things for main I safely ordered the sea bass in butter and parsley sauce..when I say safe I mean..i was really full as I had not long eaten before coming here so fish seemed the lightest option..my mum followed suit and had the plaice cooked in the same manner. Both cost around £16.99 and it was refreshing to find accompiants included. A large potato gratin, sesame seeds carrots, broccoli and pickled cabbage landed along with a sizzling piece of fish. This was cooked perfectly..and I enjoyed every bite. We had pre ordered a glass of house wine to accompany our mains..this was served in two cute claret jugs..nice.touch. Despite our stomachs aching with so much food we could not resist the dessert menu..i had the cafe Garland which introduced a bit of fun on a plate. A fresh shot of berry jelly, espresso, macaroon and a mini creme brulee.. My mum had the ovaltine and whiskey icecream laced with meringue giving it a comforting texture.. With time running out to get our train we asked for the bill. My mum unknowingly had selected items from the £22.00 menu so everything turned out very reasonable. Overall a lovely experience and the entire room was mainly served by the one gent..if you stay at the Quay ditch their restaurant and come here for a more intimate experience

To be fair the food was decent enough if a bit expensive (although I wasn't paying!) and the waiter was a bit of a character - camp as a row of tents - which added to the occasion. Our only 'complaint' would be that now Henri's is a restaurant rather than a pub, I had expected a little more from the staff. We weren't greeted or checked on by the manager, who was milling around the entire time. The second time was fabulous. The food outstanding. Again, a great waitress and this time we had personal interactions with the manager & the chef also walked through & stopped at our table. The 3rd time I found the food to be a little disappointing & we did wait a long time for dessert. We knew the chef this night was different to the 2nd time. All in all, lovely decor, good food & I would definitely go back. Hopefully the creases will have been ironed out by then.

I had lamb shank which was cooked to perfection and my wife went for the scallops and monkfish which she told me was the best shed had in a long time,we both shared a warm chocolate brownie with a small glass of dessert wine which complimented the richness of the chocolate to perfection! I have to say I was very impressed with the whole experience and will be going back very soon, this time mob handed with friends!

I had scallops raped in proceto, and my colleague had the veg soup. Both were tasty and well cooked the fish was tender and flavoursome the ham was crisp and and balanced well with the scallops, four scallops and a salad dressing My main course was Duck cooked pink with shaved root veg again flavesome and well balanced. When you first walk into this place you think, this is a bit small to be good, but eat your food then judge I was pleased with my food and so was my colleague. I went for the seared halibut steak, with samphire and a subtly flavoured white wine sauce; the best piece of halibut I've had since I was in Alaska, high praise indeed! My wife had the grey mullet with samphire in a lemon sauce, again a great dish, just a little heavy on the lemon. We also had a couple a sides that complimented both dishes perfectly, double fried chips and a dressed salad. The choice of desserts on the prix menu was limited to only two, a plum tart and fresh strawberries, meringue and cream, the latter being the dish we both went for. Served in a precipitous cocktail glass, it was the perfect dessert, flavourful and not too large. Rounded off with a decent cup of coffee, this was a great choice of restaurant for our last night in Ludlow.
