I noticed that he had gotten thin and was not his usually self. On Sept. 5th I had to take him to the vet. He weighed 13 lbs (on 8/6/25 he was at vet and he weighed 14.8 lbs which was always his normal weight give a few ounces). He also had fever of 103, and bloody soft stool and very lethargic. The next day I called kennel and told them what happened, I was told the owner would get back to me. No call from the owner, so I called again the next day. Same response. On Monday. 9/8 I called the previous owner, he told me that he would have the new owner contact me. The new owner Mckelle gave me a call that night. She told me after 2 hours they pick up the wet food (cans). Whether its eaten or not. My dog has always been a grazer (he eats when he wants too). Mckelle also told me that she would call me back the next day after checking the feeding logs. I never got another call. Basically they starved my poor boy and the damage to his system was irreversible. I had to put him to sleep on 9/9/25. My beautiful boy is gone because of them!!!! Avoid this place!!!!

We had to put one of them down due to injuries and thought I would need to rehome 2 of them but he worked with all of us and made my pack stronger and more bonded than ever. He took the time to come over first and watch and observe them together and then he worked with them individually and in smaller groups. He trained me as well on how to be a stronger mama bear and take my power back. He taught me to "lock up" my couch since the couch was misbehaving when I wasn't home. Haha. Now my furniture is safe, my dogs aren't tempted and they can be unsupervised more often without getting into trouble. His weekly group classes are a lot of fun to bring the dogs to so they can play and train at the same time. They can meet other dogs if they want or we just do our own thing and my crazies love Mr. Nick. He still periodically checks in on us and always responds to my texts when I have a quick question. You can tell he truly loves all the animals he works with and they can feel it too. I'm so glad he was recommended to me by my vet. He was life saver then and he is still one now. Because 5 crazies is a lifelong commitment and the training snd questions never stop.

If you're looking for a knowledgeable and professional dog trainer, Nick brings both expertise and clarity to the process. His approach gave us the confidence to move forward with one of his puppy training packages. The group sessions have been incredibly valuable--providing structure, socialization, and meaningful growth for Koa. We're especially grateful for the one-on-one guidance Nick has given us, helping us confidently reinforce commands and build strong obedience skills at home and on walks. We've seen tremendous improvement, particularly in managing Koa's over-the-top excitement when greeting people and other dogs. Content K9s also offers boarding and training to their clients, so having that option during our recent 2 1/2-week international trip gave us complete peace of mind. Koa was clearly well cared for, and we returned to a happy, well-adjusted pup. Nick and the Content K9s team deliver professional, effective, and thoughtful dog training. We highly recommend them to anyone looking for puppy training, obedience training, or behavioral support.

When I picked him up the charge was $10 more a night than usual and it was not communicated to me that the fees went up. I was also very confused about the name change and new staff, as it was not communicated to me about price change, name change, or staff change. My dog came home sick with kennel cough and as the next few days passed his cough got significantly worse. He started to really scare me with his cough as this was the first time in 9.5 years my dog has ever been sick. After a call with the manager Brooklyn I was left feeling disgruntled and taken advantage of with the entire change and my dog coming home sick. I spend $187 at the vet for meds. I called back to give them an opportunity to make it right and she was kinder this time on the phone but did not make it right. She also told me they are under the same ownership and management even though public record states different. For someone who comes often and always treats everyone in there with kindness and respect I do not feel that they made it right. It would have been nice to have atleast one night credited to my account but instead all they did was credit me $20 for the non communication about the overcharge and new pricing. Just know if your animal comes home sick, you will be responsible for the entire bill with no financial empathy from management. The front desk girl at the Jones location is the sweetest ever. She gives 100000% amazing customer service and should be in charge of guest recovery going forward.

When we showed up, she was barking, lunging, and going crazy since we got off the car, and we couldn't go near at all!! This continued for maybe four sessions in. Then Mike grabbed her leash and corrected her. That's all it took! He showed us how to fix the situation and stay consistent at it. Look at the picture! This is her in STAY command, just relaxing on the trail. We can walk by other dogs without a hassle. It's a working progress, but this wouldn't have happened without his training. Michael was communicative and flexible while scheduling our weekly classes. There was never any force or aggressive training involved at any time, no need for shock collars only training collars (very different). I really like them too as they are super knowledgeable about dogs, and always give me updates on how my dog did that day. I like that they mix up the play groups and give them breaks every so often so the dogs don't get too overexcited or anything. I used to go to a different place in town that's pretty close by, but when I picked my dog up he would smell awful(like he rolled in urine), and his mental state would be so frantic and overexcited. They also did not seem to be nearly as knowledgable about dogs. When I pick him up from Smarty Paws he just smells like his normal self, he's mostly calm, and so perfectly tuckered out from the day. They also offer Bootcamp, where they pull your dog out to do some training for an extra charge, which is pretty darn awesome if you're a super busy person who doesn't have a lot of time to do your own dog training. The ONLY downside is they close daycare at 6pm, and with my schedule it would be so nice if they closed later. But they have lives, too, and that doesn't stop me from bringing my dog here.

I love the boot camp setup as I feel it gives each dog the ability to work on exactly what they need to. There is a strong emphasis on creating and maintaining a healthy pack dynamic. This is a rare find! Julie's help and guidance and everyone at Smartypaws has helped my rescue dog become a well adjusted, happy and calm dog! It has helped him so much with his anxiety! She told me that all the staff did was scroll all day on the phones and while watching the webcams noticed that they tried to put her into the water when she didn't want to. For some reason, I was thinking she had gone to the other location but she must have gone to the Henderson one. So because of the great reviews and the way that it looks on the website, I thought that this would be a good location since it's more convenient than my dogs previous daycare since we just moved. The first thing that struck me as odd was this is the only time where I've actually been charged for an evaluation. Every daycare that we've been to, and we've been to about five of them around Las Vegas, gives you either a free day or a free 4 hours. So I was surprised that you have to pay $30 for a 4-Hour evaluation. Because it works both ways. You're evaluating my dog but I'm evaluating you. When I came in, there was just a lobby. I was asked to fill out some paperwork but I wasn't offered a tour or nobody explained anything about services. Honestly I forgot that there was even a pool in there. They said something about putting him in a kennel first to try out for boarding which I thought was a little bit weird. And then go into the play area for the other 2 hours. I did get a text midway through saying that he was keeping to himself but he had passed the temperament test. I thought that was weird because he loves dogs. I went to pick him up about 4 hours later than the first thing I noticed was now that it was 2:00 p.m., the place reeked. Most places have some kind of deodorizer or some type of even overpowering scent so you don't smell that. But it smelled like wet dog and urine. When I picked him up, they didn't say anything about how he had done, again nothing about services, nothing about going forward like nothing that you would expect from a typical daycare after an evaluation. Oftentimes you also get like a little report card in paper given to you. I did think when I picked him up he was a little bit weird like unfocused and strange but I was like OK maybe he played a lot or something and he's just a bit hyped. Again in the car he wasn't really focusing when I was talking to him. When I got him home, he wouldn't let me out of his sight. All he did was whine every time I left a room. Which is really unusual for him to the point that he needed to be crated. That's when I opened my email to look at the report card, which I'll attach a photo, said that he took a quick dive in the pool. I became so upset because he does not swim. He has never been near water, he would avoid any and all bodies of water. His breed does not swim at all. I had noticed that when I picked him up, his leash was wet. Which I thought why the hell would his leash be wet? I'm still confused why it's wet because why would a leash be anywhere near the pool. So I was already upset that they hadn't even asked me about whether he could go in or if he could even swim. And I kind of put two and two together and figure OK he had some kind of really bad experience here that now he's like clinging to me and whining. I also looked at the photos and he's off in a corner somewhere, totally hunched over. This is a dog who loves daycare and loves dogs but he clearly did not like this place. So I sent them back a text and said I don't appreciate that you put my dog in water and he would never do that voluntarily on you so you would have to have led him in. So they gave me this long text about how they would never do XYZ and I just sent them back a screenshot of the report card that said he was in the pool. A couple of things could have happened they just AI generate the report cards with a bunch of fluff or they lied. Either way, he had some kind of traumatizing experience here because he's still clinging to me tonight. This is not normal after daycare behavior for any dog. But now that I'm looking at the reviews I'm seeing similar comments. So here are some actual suggestions. If you just fill your report cards with AI fluff, you did so at your own demise, because any good dog owner would be greatly concerned that during an evaluation you put a dog near water without even talking to the owner about it. This staff clearly does not know about dog behavior, body language, or just common courtesy or sense. Update: 2 weeks later my dog now shakes uncontrollably before going into his old daycare. I don't know wtf they did, but this place needs investigated.

I was put in touch with Mike at Pinnacle Protection through mutual friends and both König and I are very grateful for him. König is beyond smart and is capable of learning so much...Hey who knows, he's could probably outsmart me! (Hopefully not lol). As he matured he still had his "puppy" moments and in all fairness he just wanted to "work". I've never had a shepherd before only grew up with golden retrievers and chihuahuas so i was in for a big awakening when this quickly growing fur ball wouldn't calm down. I had gone through a break up and I was scared to be alone and i couldn't think of a better protection dog than a German shepherds, but I wanted to do this right. Ive been heavily involved in training with König and have attended every one of his training sessions. One of our biggest issue was making my pup understand who the "pack leader" was. König put up a big fight but Mike literally taught me a couple important tools and BAM just like that I'm in control! In fact with any issues or struggle i had and brought to mikes attention was handled literally right before my eyes. Pretty impressive. I've noticed a major improvement in his temperament and capabilities in obeying my commands. I am so proud of my little dude and seriously owe it to Mike and Pinnacle Protection Dogs bc I had no idea what i was doing and now i have the most loving, loyal, best friend i could ever ask for. This is definitely a person and business I would fully endorse and get behind and of course always refer to friends and family. So Pawfect!
