I Love CrossFit Petroglyph, the community, and my new family here! I joined the gym over six months…read moreago after looking for a new gym home, and I'm so glad to have found my new gym home at CrossFit Petroglyph! All the owners are amazing, all of the members push each other to do better every single day and we all show up for each other! I'm so grateful and honored to be part of this amazing team, and I recommend CrossFit Petroglyph 10/10 to anyone looking for a new gym family.

I'm going to send some pandemic appreciation to a CrossFit gym I honestly haven't gotten to know…read morevery well, yet. When our neighborhood studio shut down, we toured everything in our zip code, taking free introductory classes, and to this day our experience at CrossFit Petroglyph was the most enjoyable and memorable. We ended up meeting two of the instructors, Scott and Belinda, part of a class of just eight or so people. Scott was super accommodating and brought us into the fold on a whim. It wasn't a great day for beginners to drop in, but we did our best, and Scott corrected our form throughout. Nine months into a pandemic, we're not planning to return to a gym anytime soon, but when that day comes, we'll definitely consider Petroglyph. A little while back we called and learned they'd taken some precautions, keeping the air flowing, spacing and sanitizing constantly, so if you're comfortable with that situation and you're looking for an exercise routine that carefully tracks your lifelong progress, this is a good spot to go get your personal gun show.

As a gym junkie, I can state with authority that I know the fitness scene in Albuquerque, and this…read moreSpenga place is legit. Over the past decade, I've graciously bled pools of sweat in gyms all over this metro, from CrossFit barns to bootcamp-style conditioning, most recently completing about 18 months at Orangetheory, where I sustained several minor and debilitating injuries. I gave it my all, spent a pretty penny on physical therapy, and finally decided to ditch the treadmill for spin classes. But Spenga's much more than a spin scene. You do 20 minutes on a bike, 20 more on the floor (free weights, kettlebell, TRX, BOSU), and 20 minutes of yoga. Originally, I definitely had reservations, but now that I'm about two months in, I can emphatically state the following: * I burn 700-900 calories per class * The yoga is super good for me * The music's pretty good (better than OTF) * It's more affordable than OTF * The instructors are polished and personable * The facility is spacious and clean * I'm injury free From a community standpoint, this place is more of a drop-in-get-it-done-and-leave kinda situation, which is great with me, but if you're more motivated by a gym full of besties, look elsewhere. I'll note they could get better at correcting form, and I would appreciate more class options, but I've never lost a penny from a late cancellation (there's no need to reserve ahead of time) and I could be wrong, but I think I'm actually seeing the results of these workouts. My wife warned me not to pen this review; she wants to keep the place to herself. Sorry, Laura, now everybody knows.

They didn't even ask if I had experience with spin because I have years of experience in spin bikes and was looking forward to a class to take advantage of after having a newborn at home. Unfortunately, I likely won't be able to come back to try this place for months to come. Had I liked my session tonight, I had planned on working out a schedule with my caregiver and partner so I could workout here a few times a week and purchasing a monthly package. I guess I won't be doing that now. I had actually signed up for here before they opened that's how excited I was for this place but then I was pregnant and put on restriction. I guess it wasn't meant to be. They probably don't care about my money anyway.
