I picked HYH because they had easy scheduling online..and the other places I checked out online either didn't seem to have easy appointment making process or just were not open/didn't have last minute availability! I ended up booking my 90 minute full body massage appointment at night that day after I was done with everything! I was so glad I chose HYH. I arrived 30 minute earlier because I wasn't sre about where the place or what the parking situation was. But...there was nothing to worry about at all! Safe parking area, etc! Once I stepped into a place, a staff greeted me with water. I waited a bit and once I was there, I already felt a little relief from the peacefulness there. I had a male massage therapist and he was good! He did check in with me quite a bit on how I was doing and what I preferred. Honestly, with all the hot towels, warm pillows, hot stones, and all the massages all over, I felt on cloud 9. The prices were extremely reasonable that I felt so glad I chose to treat myself well that day! I definitely will be back at this place given all the right experiences about this place and the fact that they seemed more flexible with hours and open early/late, too!

But the last time I went, I told the massage therapist that I needed to leave promptly at the end of my appointment to get to a work meeting with a customer. During the massage she complemented my necklace and asked if she could remove it and we agreed she'd put it in my purse. (So I wouldn't forget it.) She held me over at the end of my appointment five minutes so I was running late getting to my meeting. She called about 15 minutes later, while I was driving, and said she'd forgotten to put my necklace in my purse, but offered to meet me anywhere to return it when I had time. I was angry but really nice about it telling her no to worry that I'd get it from her when I could, perhaps the next time I came for an appointment. Since that time I've been decided not to continue seeing her, though I had no standing appointment and I had not communicated that to her. As such, I have asked if she could meet up over the next few days so I could get my necklace back before Thanksgiving. She has refused to meet me to return my necklace, even though I've been very flexible offering to meet her in Placitas at a mutually convenient time during the next few days. She's made it clear she's available but won't agree to meet. Last I heard she was going to "mail it" to me. Yeah, we'll see. So folks, if you like your jewelry and don't want someone to take it from you and not return it when you ask them to (if at all... I'll have to wait and see) then I highly recommend you steer clear of this business. Also, the prices are incredibly high, so it clearly isn't always true you get what you pay for.

The most recent visit was for a facial with Emily, who's an absolute expert in her craft. Shoutout Capricorns! During your session they assess your skin and let you know what they are doing and using. It's so calming that I often find myself falling asleep by the end of it. They have private tubs you can reserve for an hour if that's more the vibe you are feeling, but you can also use the hot tub before or after your appointment to soak which is so relaxing. I do appreciate the touches of tea kettles and tea in the lounge area that are complimentary. They also have snacks and other things if you are there longer. Remedy is such a sweet serene spot right in the university area that you'd kinda forget where you are because it's so peaceful while experiencing it, and that's why I can't recommend Emily and Remedy enough.

I loved the cupping session and the massage right after cupping, too. The session was strong and very much to my liking. I liked that they use the real fire cupping (and not the weaker plastic cups to do the suction) and do some gliding of the cups to help loosen all the stiffness/fascia as well. My wife says that I don't listen to her, or something like that. Regardless, I felt like I got about 8-9 Rolfing sessions in one hour. She told me I would be sore, but I have been getting bodywork for over 50 years and that didn't bother me. I did get a little sore, but the relief from the tightness was worth the temporary pain. I climb a lot of ladders, and for the first time in several years I now have enough flexibility in my right hip to let me climb and descend symmetrically instead of like a gimp. Even my chiropractor was impressed. That's incredible! I am going to add the cupping next time. I believe you can also get a milk toast type massage, but I appreciate a deep massage for my high mileage body. I work hard and do a fair amount of heavy lifting, so my muscles are need serious help. It was the best massage ever!
