They left a note on the door for members to request a refund. It has been 14days since I requested my refund as I paid upfront for a full year but only used 3 months. I should be getting a 9 month refund but I am being ignored. If you are thinking of getting a membership in Weymouth remember this is the same owner so be aware of how they treat the members. They close ubruptly then ignore all while holding the money of their members.

From day one, the people at FitWorx have been super friendly and supportive from the get-go. Everyone makes sure that you feel comfortable with all of the equipment and the process. I go there three times per week and every time I am there I see the staff talking to the patrons like they are old friends. I'm new, and already the greet me by name. The space is small. Not built like your muscle head gyms. There are strength training circuits and cardio equipment. Everything is clean and very well maintained. It gets busy, never overcrowded; I've never had trouble getting the machine I want. Anytime you want to do a circuit, you schedule your time. This helps keep me accountable. The trainers work with you in the beginning one on one, but are always there making sure you are doing well. Client by client they help you keep on track by increasing your weights, keeping your workout fresh. Then they modify their machine order from time to time to be sure that your body doesn't get bored with the same old schedule. I have only been a member for two weeks now, but I am the happiest I have ever been in a workout/exercise setting. I'm confident that their program will work for me!

If you dont mind spending a few more bucks you can have a gym right up the road that has a pool, full-size basketball court, steam room, sauna, spa like locker rooms with LCD tvs, tanning beds and state of the art cardio equipment. That is where I have been a member for years now. I was promised that there would be new bikes -- instead they just kept putting more equipment around the bikes, making it harder to get around. The steam room never worked and was promised a sauna -- ever happened. Then the duct tape started appearing on the equipment. It is standard in all gyms that people wipe down the machine after use -- and here there is no sign, and way too many people do not wipe the equipment after use.

Now I bring my own towels to Planet Fitness, and for under $20 I'm getting the same workout and a (much) cleaner shower. I too have pics of mold in SSAC showers, which I took to the front desk when they questioned it. In the end, SSAC was able to charge my card for months though I stopped going. It was my fault, because I'm bad about canceling memberships or returning things at stores. But then finally my card expired and when SSAC couldn't get more from it, I received an obnoxious, over-the-top letter from a lawyer. No doubt, they're technically in the right ("per the agreement"), but after years of patronage, legal threats strike me as bad form. It would have been better to ask if there was a reason I left, and whether they might do anything to bring me back.

I have been going this month after buying a groupon promotion and I am signing up after this trial period. The past 8 times i've gone, there wasn't a single session that had more than 4-5 people. I've actually been there when it was just me or one other person. Dan, the owner and trainer, is absolutely wonderful. He's fun, professional and works with each person's weaknesses. For me, i have a problem with my wrists and one of my knees and he always finds a modification for me so I don't get hurt. Oh, and the prices are great too!
