I joined in September 2025 the Set Fit Worx program. Have lost 40 pounds. Jimmy gave me great nutrition advice and helped me get started with the gym. I enjoy the community. Derek is a great trainer! I am learning new healthy habits and getting comfortable with gym equipment. read more

The owner refuses to reimburse me for prepaid personal training sessions. They took my money and went out of business. It's not convenient for me to go to their other location. It's no wonder they went from 5 or 6 locations to just one. Bad customer service. read more

I recently had the displeasure of dealing with this company. They are not honorable and when dealing with customers, they are rude and disrespectful. If you are owed money, beware, all of a sudden they decide that "free months" are gifts that reduce your compensation. Some of their former customers have reported not receiving funds they were due. They then had the nerve to "ask" us back to the last remaining "not gym". Please read all of the reviews which explain exactly how often people have been bullied and disrespected simply for asking what is due them, especially the latest group from Pembroke. While some reviewers are positive about their experience and staff, please take a moment to remember "Buyer beware" especially where money is involved. There are other gyms that are better equipped and respect their customers. read more

My experience with Fitworx was mixed overall. On the positive side, the staff members I interacted with were very friendly and welcoming, which made the initial visit pleasant. The gym itself is clean and functional, with the main highlights being the sauna and the variety of fitness classes offered. That said, there were several aspects that left me underwhelmed. The facility is fairly standard - nothing particularly exciting stood out. This is a dedicated space reserved for premium weight loss program members that regular members can't access. The class scheduling could use improvement. When I checked the app, the class calendar often wasn't updated very far in advance, making it difficult to plan workouts ahead of time. During the sign-up process, I felt a noticeable amount of pressure from the owner to commit to a higher upfront payment plan. While multiple pricing options are offered, he strongly pushed one specific option and continued to persuade me even after I have made my choice. It came across as more aggressive than helpful. Once I started using the gym, a few additional issues stood out. There aren't traditional changing rooms - just bathroom stalls, showers, and a small, dark curtained area in the middle of the locker room - which felt a bit awkward. Some of the equipment wasn't in working order and there was no signage indicating they were out of service. The overall gym atmosphere also felt a bit unstructured at times, with groups of teenagers congregating around equipment. After reflecting on my experience and reading other reviews, I decided to cancel my membership shortly after joining. While the cancellation process was ultimately possible, it included some friction - there was mention of an additional billing cycle due to a 30-day notice policy, and I was also charged an annual fee, which was unexpected since I had only been a member for two months. I appreciate supporting small businesses more than anything, and there are definitely positive aspects here, especially with the friendly staff and some amenities. However, the overall experience didn't quite meet my expectations, largely due to the sales approach, facility limitations, and operational inconsistencies. read more

This company had 2 locations same owner. I was a member of the Pembroke location and unfortunately I paid in full for a full year and they closed abruptly March 31st 2026. After 3 months of use and 9 months remaining they closed without notice to members and only one week notice to employees. They recommended emailing for a full refund but unfortunately after a couple emails and a visit to Weymouth to talk in person but left a message as Rick the owner was not in. I made a couple phone calls leaving a message for the owner Rick to call me back and work out the refund- as I am typing Rick just called me back. Now I know why he never wanted to return my call he was rude , put all the blame on the member and refused to honor the agreement his manager authorized. Stay away Rick is all about Rick. read more

Not a bad gym to go to! Machines are doable and the people are great! Too bad the hours are limited, but a nice gym to workout at.

I went here a few times when I had a free pass. Overall it was a decent gym. Certainly had more free weights than a nearby Planet Fitness. Biggest drawbacks for me was it is relatively small and it closed (9pm) earlier than other gyms I had a membership at. If I worked late or got stuck in traffic, I may not have enough time for a complete workout. read more

I was told upon signing up all fees would be waived. Two months in I was charged a $49 maintenance fee that i did not authorize. I called the gym and and explained I would have never agreed to a membership if I had been told about this charge. They said I was told, which is a lie. I told them I wanted to cancel the membership because I don't deal with businesses that use these bait and switch practices. They said I needed to physically come in to sign a form to cancel which is ridiculous. Do not deal with this gym they use hidden fees to charge you. Then make it difficult for you to cancel them. Just a terrible business practice. read more

I can't say enough good things about this gym and the new ownership! The staff is so kind and the gym is always super clean. They offer several different classes, including Zumba and boxing as well as one on one training. Niki has created great workout plans for me! They also offer several different protein drinks and supplements and nutritional guidance / plans. It's a great program that has helped me build muscle and lose weight. read more

All the staff members are so nice!! The gym itself is always clean and HUGE - it's easy to find a machine you want to use or to ask a personal trainer for help! Niki Langella is the best personal trainer there, I highly recommend training with her or going to her ab workout classes on Saturdays! read more

Had an issue with my membership. Spoke to the owner Rick Langella who was very condescending and rude. He said he'd call me. I never heard from him. I went to see about my membership and the minute I walked in the door he proceeded to yell and scream at me all while flailing his arms. He wouldn't have a civil conversation. He continued to berate me. I told him not to speak to me that way. He yelled don't tell me what to do. He screamed at me to get out. A true gentleman would never speak to or treat a lady the way he spoke to and treated me. Ladies beware of having to deal with him. He's talks and treats you like crap. He flies off the handle and loses his cool very quickly. Perhaps an anger management course and a how to deal with the public course are in order. His poor wife and daughters...... As for Rick Langella's reply, I only spoke to him and never berated him or any of his employees. HE DIDNT ASK ME TO LEAVE THE GYM, I TOLD HIM I WAS CANCELING MY MEMBERSHIP!! He is well aware of a personal trainer that charges clients for sessions that clients they have not used. I was told I was getting my sessions back. I never insisted that he give me my sessions back. It was impossible to have a civil conversation due to the fact that he was yelling at me. BUYER BEWARE!! Please keep track of your personal training sessions and also ask what the cancellation policy is as there are many cancellatio policies. read more

I kept pushing joining a gym for quite some time. After seeing posts on social media, I decided to go in and talk to the people at SetPointRx. After meeting with Tim and checking out the gym, I knew this was the gym for me. No meatheads here, just everyday people who have decided to take back control of their life and get healthy. I just hit 90 days and I'm down 26lbs! Tim and Amanda are awesome and super helpful with any questions your have. I can't say enough good things about Bobby. He's extremely helpful and your hype man when it comes to strength checks or just your regular workout because he helps to push you through. I'd recommend this place to anyone. read more

The gym changed ownership! I really enjoy the zumba classes and i havent had any issue with payment, contract or customer service

In the months following my first review, the place declined even more with the firing of much of the staff without notice, so now there were less "coaches" available. The atmosphere was pretty grim afterwards and many folks left, as did I when membership expired. read more

Pam C I joined Fitworx in Weymouth after a lengthy phone call with Chris. Chris is very knowledgable about weight loss and fitness. I was a little leary that I would be able to keep to a schedule and cut out foods told to. to my surprise with the help and encouragement of Chris and his crew to hold myself accountable{more than not} I was able to reach my weight loss goal in my allotted time. They have great food, snacks, drinks to aidin the protein needed in your diet to aide in your weight loss. They monitor your progress and are funny, friendly, patient and helpful. I will definitely return when time allows. The fees are reasonable and they have different plans to choose from. Fitworx Rocks !! read more

I love Fitworx, and highly recommend to anyone! Called and set up an appointment with Chris, the manager, who is extremely motivational and supportive! He customized my fitness workouts specifically for me, and has educated me with a nutrition program. The food is healthy, protein rich, and yummy! Rick , Nicky, Chris, Glen, and James are very helpful, knowledgeable, positive influences , funny, and supportive of proper instruction from a variety of machines at Fitworx. Personal Training sessions from Alicia and Glen are unique for all clients. Encompassed with professionalism, diverse strategies, whole body workout, exhilarating, fun, and a gentle cool down. Ahhh, I feel like a million! What are you waiting for? read more

It's a fun environment which helps with the workout. They truly care about they're patrons and their health. No other gym will give you this undivided time and actually know you by name. Try getting this at Planet Fitness. I've lost weight and I am now more food and nutirition informed. Join this gym and start getting healthy today. read more

I was a member here for a few months. I enjoyed the workouts and the food they "suggest" you buy isn't bad. The main reason I stopped going is because the trainer Chris made some pretty crappy comments about not wanting to clean the women's bathroom because of "all the blood he saw in there". He said it loud enough for everyone in the gym to hear, and seemed proud of it. Pretty tone-deaf from someone who's supposed to know the ins and outs of the human body and nutrition. It turned me off so much that I didn't want to go anymore. read more

If a 1/2 star was available, it would be highlighted. My account was on hold because of COVID at $10/month and I decided to cancel it. I was incorrectly charged $50 for one of the months (not the last one which is another story ....) and have called Chris the manager twice since February to fix it. He assured me both times he would. read more

Prepaid for a year. They lost my check. They restarted my membership, "giving" me two free weeks to compensate for the hassle and the cancelled check fee I incurred. Hours didn't work for me (early opening only 2 days per week and from 4-7PM it is too crowded and takes forever!) so I asked for a refund of what was left of my membership (8 months left). They offered me $9.00 (membership I chose was ~$59 per month. They cited fees and a price that were not evident or written in contract at sign up. When I pushed back, they stoped responding to my emails (they NEVER responded to my phone calls)! Skip this gym- they are terrible. read more

The reason I am giving 2 stars is, some of the employees/trainers are great, unfortunately manager and owner, not so much. I have been a member off and on for a few years. I enjoyed my routine and some of the members I have met over the years. There was one member who was quite loud and always made me feel uncomfortable by calling me Sweetie and Honey, etc. He also talked politics quite frequently, which totally stressed me out. I asked him to stop one day, and he did. But later turned to another member and started laughing at me. I felt bullied and humiliated and sexually harrassed. I threw my spray bottle on the floor, said said some choice words to the bully and left in tears. Later I was contacted by the manager who was very condescending when I was trying to explain how I felt. He basically told me that everyone present was offended by my behavior. Therefore, I canceled my membership that day. I contacted the owner, Rick Langella. I admitted where I was wrong, because I lost my temper but that i no longer felt comfortable going to his gym, knowing how the other members feel about me. I requested a refund for additional services paid in advance, such as PT and bootcamp. I told him I was embarrassed to go back there. Im embarrassed to find that people that i thought of as friends at the gym, actually don't feel the same about me. Im not asking for anything other than refund for services paid for that I will not receive. Rick informed me that they dont refund members for embarrassing themselves. And when he heard about the incident, he said wow, because of my actions. He only communicated through facebook messenger. He never had the decency to call me. Apparently my money is much more important to him than my comfort and my feelings while using his facilities. read more

The concept is great but the execution isn't there. It's over priced for the support you get. Your better off joining weight watchers and learning how to really live a healthy lifestyle that is realistic to real life. Instead of slowly losing weight which is the best way, they give you a "diet" that doesn't work in real life. Go to weight watchers, it might take you longer but you will be healthier in the long run. They are missing the support aspect of losing weight. read more

Concept is a great idea, however, this establishment lacks professionalism. The owners are very rude and unprofessional. There is tremendous inconsistency with instruction and policy. read more

Would not recommend for older patrons. I was not made to feel comfortable there. Buyer beware.

Ridiculous. Overpriced and overcrowded. The supposed trainers are uninformed. One is hyperactive and runs around the gym like a chicken with his head cut off. They continued to charge me well after the 30 days I cancelled in writing. They even acknowledged in writing that they were cancelling. I'm now a member of Northeast Fitness down the street for 25$ per month as opposed to 70$. Buyer beware of Fitworx read more

I love fitworx in Weymouth! Hamil is the best trainer!! Always have so much fun and a great work out when I go!

If I could give a 0, I would!! Seriously, don't!! The concept is good, however, the execution is bad! They want to sell food, and now training. They double charged me for a month of training, and then refused to fix it for 5 days, and a big fight. The manager told me if I don't like it, then quit! I guess they are so popular, they can do that! Boring, monotonous workouts! They want you to have to buy personal training. On a review from someone else, the owner stated "its for people who have taken a wrong turn in life" Lets be for real!! I joined Weymouth Club. read more

Fitworx has a great program and as long as you follow it, it works. You have to be willing to work at it but they have the staff to help you along the way.
