We drove 2 1/2 hours to get there, only to have the experience effectively canceled. No warning ahead of time, no meaningful explanation on site, just a refund. To make it even more frustrating, the refund email was titled "Thank you for your purchase," which felt incredibly tone-deaf considering the experience never happened. There was no apology, no acknowledgment of the inconvenience, and no effort to take responsibility for the situation. The staff at the window showed no care and said "yeah a lot of people have booked that for today" when expressing that we booked for it and were charged for this experience. Wasting customers' time, gas, and entire day with this level of disregard is unacceptable. Paoli Peaks clearly prioritizes sales over customer experience. We won't be back, and I strongly recommend others think twice before making the trip.

Opening weekend/Sunday afternoon: The rental line was no joke two hours long. It became significantly shorter later in the evening. If you don't want to wait, come later or bring your own gear. Somewhat crowded but not so much that I wasn't able to learn in the discovery zone. During the week: The temperatures were above freezing, so what snow was left was turning to slush. Better than the ice experienced a few days prior though. There were several points where I was the only person in the discovery zone, especially as it got later in the evening. Being here at night is so cool!

It's within walking distance (short couple blocks) from the French Lick Hotel... easily walk (or drive) to French Lick hotel and take the trolley to places around the hotels = West Baden Springs, stables, casinos, local shops, restaurants, golf courses. = Nearby are several fantastic golf courses, including the famed Pete Dye Course. Within driving distance, you'll have several popular destinations, including Big Splash Adventure water park (5 minutes), Paoli Peaks ski resort (15 minutes), Patoka Lake (15 min.), Wilstem Ranch elephant and giraffe farm (10 minutes), Marengo Cave (35 minutes), and Holiday World & Splashin' Safari (1 hour). The house was built in the early 20th century, this impressive all-brick home has been a French Lick landmark for decades. Located directly across the street from the French Lick Resort and Casino, this 2000 square foot home was recently renovated. Featuring a full bathroom and three bedrooms on the second floor -- a king master bedroom, a second bedroom with two queen beds, and a third bedroom with two twin beds -- this 2-story home can easily sleep eight guests. The first floor features an entry lounge (with a 50" HDTV), a sitting room, a formal dining room, a full kitchen, and a half bathroom. Also included is a washer and dryer and a car port. Rates are very reasonable! A group of up to eight can spread out and enjoy the privacy of this spacious historic home for less than the price of one room across the street at the resort. We enjoyed our space and amenities for our family and some extended... it was beautiful for each of us! SO Comfortable! HIGHLY recommend!

We only wish we had been able to stay longer. If we had known how much fun we were going to have, we would have planned to go there from the start! Elk Ridge Ranch offers so many activities: Axe throwing, skeet shooting, golf, gym, the brick pizza oven in the pizza barn, and so much more. They even added our meat to their smoker so we could enjoy a delicious dinner. They were hosting a bachelor party and wedding, and still found time to make us feel at home as welcomed guests. We had plenty of opportunities to socialize and to still have quiet time to ourselves. We loved walking around the ranch, and our quiet nights around the fire. Elk Ridge Ranch is out in the peaceful quiet of the country, but very near several surrounding charming towns. French Lick is a convenient short drive away, along with adjoining West Baden Springs. Both are such cute towns. I highly recommend spending at least a day or two exploring that area. We enjoyed our stay so much, we are already discussing when we can go back! Their accommodations are very reasonably priced. We hope to bring our parents back to stay in their charming little cabin overlooking the ranch.

I was laying in the bed and next thing I see is BED BUGS crawling in the bed. So I contacted the front desk, he came and looked at it and said "Oh my friend its only dust" well dust don,t crawl and I know what bed bugs looks like. He denied it and would not refund our money. We were only there for an hour. We were in room 15. This place should be inspected by the state and shut down. Towels has stains and floor was dirty. Roaches in the bath room. Well needless to say we left and went home and it ruined our getaway.

Guys, I'm giving this place 5 stars for a good reason, hear me out. Is this a very nice hotel? No…read moreit's not. It has rooms to sleep in. We stayed here because of the close proximity to Paoli Peaks for a ski trip. Before paying for the room I did my standard check of the bedding, mattress, and areas around for insects. I found none. (I am a licensed home inspector and though I'm not a pest inspector, I have a decent idea of what I'm looking for) I decided to proceed. At this point it's a simple hotel transaction. Soon after there is a blizzard. Power out for the whole town, including the ski resort, the county declares a state of emergency. A valve freezes up on our car causing a pump to run all night and drain the battery. The owners spent at least 45 minutes in the sub 20 degree weather with with jumper cables charging my battery enough to start it while I was figuring out what happened and why I was having such a rough time jumping the car. I could not have gotten that level of help from very many hotels in any price range or comfort level. So my assessment is this.. 1) do you need a room close to the peaks? They have them at $55 a night- it's a 2-3min drive 2) are you concerned about insects (you should always be in ANY hotel) I found none. 3) This is THE ONLY OPTION I WOULD CONSIDER AS A HOTEL/MOTEL IN PAOLI! If you want to drive to French Lick, there are several options, but that's a longer drive. 4) the ritz across the street is a decent little diner. I would highly encourage this hotel over the ritz though.

NO INTERNET, NO CELL SIGNAL. also only a handful of tv stations, and the signal on that kept fading out making watching anything impossible. shower faucet was busted. it was a single handle moen, which i would have fixed myself just to be able to take an appropriately temp'd shower. no hardware close though. we managed with it, but it was not good. we mentioned this to the "maint person" upon our departure, and she stated she had mentioned it and it was decided they would not repair it. will we be back? jury still out. our room (discounted b/c it was a Sunday/Monday stay) was STILL $277 with tax for two nights....we saw many rooms in the same area starting at $69.00 a night...that had no more or less amenities than ours did. i would sacrifice the 4 minutes farther for half the money! **Rooms in the West Baden Springs Hotel, (hallmark of the Midwest) were only $250 starting price. to say they are only twice as good as these is a joke! do the research...look on the internet...read these...you STILL will have to go for yourself to find out. you can only see so much on here.
