We booked it for both a corporate event for our California business and also a personal party in 2015 to entertain friends within a one hour flight from Chicago. I was referred to it by a guy in New York who was looking for a place to entertain two sets of clients, one in in Lexington and one in Louisville, at a central location around the Oaks and to do the Bourbon trail one day. It is a midpoint location part way between. They have a unique high ceiling apartment rental next door that I think you can rent in conjunction with the event space. The unit is huge. I stayed one day while I was siting my party weekend. That makes for a great place for the wedding party say or to entertain the most important clients at your event. Both the space and the loft are very unique and have a much younger/modern vibe compared to the traditional decor and architecture for this town. There is a good Mexican restaurant next door. I really liked the open layout, you could decorate it however you liked if you wanted to do a theme, but it also looks great with the minimalist shop lights and functional sliding warehouse-style door. I don't want to quote prices because it probably depends but I was surprised how reasonable it was, talk to them yourself... The primary drawbacks as I see it is there is nothing else to rent like this within 20 miles, so I probably will have to rent it several years in advance and I tend to have a hard time planning work events too far in advance so it may be booked before my 16 and 17 event is planned. I talked to Kevin, who was very informative and down to earth. I met with an owner there also who happened to be dropping by to weigh in on some details. He is a broker in this town and said he did this as a creative outlet (enjoys rehabbing historic properties) and to increase the demand for permanent housing nearby as he is an investor, so that is how he can justify to rent it out at what I calc'd to be below-market rates for this type of space. If you like modern style, high ceilings and flexible space with a nod to the past and walkability to nearby goods and services(huge factor for us) is a big consideration for you, this is your thing. Check it out for yourself ... I think you will agree with what I am saying though- the place is sharp and this town had needed something like it for a long time. Look forward to many events here.

Quaint and in the heart of sweet Shelbyville! Don't know much about price range of renting the venue but it's worth checking into for any private party or quaint wedding!!! Down side to the location is finding it! But- once you do- it so neat and special!!! To the owners- you may want to paint the back door a funky bright color for parkers that park behind the venue to find the right entrance!! And painting the front door the same! We were a bit confused of where to get in... But that seems to be an easy fix!

My fiancé and I were instantly excited when we toured this venue. I have been wanting to see it…read moresince I saw it online a few months ago. To see it in person felt like a dream and we could instantly plan everything from the second we arrived. It is absolutely gorgeous! However, our experience with the owner has been horrible. We were told that the venue tends to book up quickly so our time to finalize venues was shortening. After we got home and talked over everything we wanted more information on the venue and what was included with the $6500 and what was not/ what could be rented. The owner, Aimee Martin responded to my text message and said she would send us an email. Since then I have not received any email or response regarding my inquiry. I called on Friday 7/19 and spoke with her and she said they just got back from vacation and that she's been busy with her kids etc. She also said that she would send me an email by the end of the day and if not, by the end of the weekend. By Sunday, I have not received anything and when I called there was no answer and the voicemail was full. I called again Monday 7/22 and she answered. She said she just got back to her office and will send me the email shortly and asked if I had any other questions. Thinking that I would finally receive something, I did not. I'm completely disappointed with how uncommunicative the owner is and how upsetting it is to consistently reach out to a venue we really liked. I am completely understanding when it comes to not trying to work when on vacation, but at least let me know in advance that way I would not feel discouraged when I don't receive any response. When I spoke with the owner of another venue, she continuously messaged me and even informed me that she would be out of office for vacation. Little things like that go a long way and communication is a major contributor to a business. The final thing that upset me was how quick she was to respond to my text about us no longer was wanting to book with her. There was no apology for her lack of response or explanation for her not sending the information we asked for. This venue is beautiful, chic, and was one that we highly considered to be our choice for our big day. However, given there is a lack of communication and professionalism- we do not feel as if this is taken seriously and it truly breaks my heart. As a result, we will not be spending our money here.

My parents…read morehad previously visited the venue, and they told me how beautiful it was... but until I turned onto the drive, I don't think their description did it justice! Soybeans were planted on both sides of the drive, reminding me of my grandparents' farmland in Greene County. As you come over the hill and see the event barn, especially as I arrived around sunset, it was just stunning! The barn and other buildings on the property date to the 1800s, some of the oldest in Monroe County. I'm a sucker for historic preservation (I'm in the DAR and have a Revolutionary/Hoosier pioneer ancestor buried within half an hour of this place!) so it makes me happy to see the care that the Lucas family has put into both their farm and their event venue. Despite its long history, the barn itself has a modern feel perfect for that rustic farmhouse aesthetic, much like many of the very expensive new construction event barns that are popping up all over the Nashville, TN area where I live. It's so pretty both in daylight and evening that you can't go wrong with your timing. The views are unobstructed from all sides, a perfect little piece of rural paradise not too far from IN-37. I love small businesses, but especially those that are locally owned and Veteran owned. Whippoorwill Hill is both. If you're planning a wedding, craft fair/market, reunion, or just about any other kind of event where you'd like a custom experience with a beautiful Hoosier setting, this place is for you!

Tonight, when I was laying in bed, I once again thought of our stay here and my memory of it makes me want to go back and stay again over and over again. I had to search through my photos on my phone to remember the name of this place but I finally found it!...So many great things to say-From the couple that owns it and their hospitality, to all of the charm, authenticity, and character that this old home has to offer, to the amazing breakfast provided by the owner who used to be a chef! I still drool thinking about the eggs Benedict that she made me. Absolutely THEE BEST eggs Benedict I have ever eaten. None has compared since having hers. I would go back just to eat them and her hollandaise sauce. The rooms, too were just amazing. Clean, decorated so nicely and everything was renovated. They make sure you have everything you need as well. Just simply an amazing stay. I cannot say enough good things about this place and the owners. They're so kind, personable, and detail oriented. I would recommend this place to everyone who comes through Jasper!!
