With access to games, playground, paddle boards and trampolines and obstacle course in the swimming area, my kids were constantly entertained. The cabins were clean and comfortable. Would highly recommend for a family getaway! Anything we needed, Kim was happy to accommodate.

If you want your privacy invaded by the owner with family friends visiting along with extra fees that should not be charged along and last awful customer service skills, then this is the place for you. I myself was only there for just under a week. The owner is charging us way more than we were quoted. We were quoted just under $3000 for the entire rental and then after we left added all these fees to the final bill which we were not told about at all, more about that later in this review. Other than the final charges being way over and not told about prior, Kim did some things which we feel crossed the line along with showing she does not care about customer service when there is a dispute on the bill. During time at cabin, one of friends family came up for part of the day, while outside having a great time talking a nice conversation, the owner Kim unexpectedly stands behind them listening to the conversation Friend and her family members are having then RUDELY interrupts and starts talking about herself. Not only time too, I was outside with good friend, his good friend from Hibbing, saw Kim driving around, yet felt she was listening to our conversation. Not a pleasant feeling at all, makes you feel uncomfortable. Last year, friend (2021) was staying there and Kim asked her to take photos of any license plates for ANY visitor, even if friends or family visiting the resort then send over text. Reason being too is Kim or her assistance to run background checks on them. What an invasion of privacy! Friend was so embarrassed too. Background checks to that nature should only be done for certain purposes NOT visiting a resort, never ever seen that in the 40 years Ive been living. According to the Better Business Bureau, the resort has been in business for 27 years, BUT the sad thing is Kim shows poor customer service skills. On final bill we are being charges extra guest fees when only 4 were staying at cabin at any given time, but Kim claims in her rebuttal due a family reunion friend was having the "Septic and Well systems would be severely taxed." The problem with the owner's claim is it's a TOTAL LIE, friend had family over, BUT THEY Never stayed in the cabin or even go inside to use the restroom. Owner Kim did say 4 people can stay in a cabin with no extra guest charges, as I noted, NOT ONCE during the 2 weeks when we were renting had any more than 4 people in cabin. In addition, we were charged 15 bucks for 2 bags of ice and get this...$90 BUCKS for using 2 pieces of firewood. When we asked about the charges on final invoice, Kim refused to talk about, and sent nasty text messages to f. Since I agreed with my friends to pay the final charges, I sent 2 emails to Kim asking for a reduction plus extra time to pay and asking the cost of rental stay as quoted, never got a response back to me, BUT Kim sends only to my friend nasty attitude text messages with outrageous excuses for the extra charges. Here is the thing I have figured out , she will be like that with women but not with guys. It's like she is scared to speak to me which is appalling for a business owner and a shameful thing to do when it comes to customer service. My advice...AVOID renting a cabin here at all COSTS. I've given the owner Kim one last chance to reply TO me. If she does NOT, I will be filling a complaint with Better Business Bureau and with the Minnesota Attorney Generals Office. Last the MN Dept Of Commerce might be also contacted. Likely the owner Kim will reply to this review, but her side of story will be all not true. One last thing, on day of checking out at the cabin, her mom really helped to clean the cabin out. Kim does a walkthrough then demands friends 74 year old mother water the plants outside when it should be either Kim or her employees job to do, but wait Kim has no workers because they all quit I heard due to how she treated her employees.

The resort consists of almost 30 cabins of various sizes, plus a large "retreat home" down the shore that we haven't seen yet. The "log" cabins range from fairly cramped and rustic to much more modern and spacious. We've rented one of the larger cabins for two older couples set back from the lake the past few years and really enjoy it. Pehrson caters to family vacations and reunions, and a lot of the patrons we met have been coming there for decades. It is truly a fine lake summer experience, located in the southwest corner of sprawling Lake Vermilion. We've taken advantage of pontoon rentals; the pickleball court; 2+ mile hiking trail; the beach and swimming area with large floats the kids love to climb all over; a small but surprisingly well-equipped fitness room with a few cardio machines plus dumbbells, Swiss balls, bands, etc.; foosball, a pool table and ping pong tables at the Main Lodge; a great lakeside seating area to view spectacular sunsets; and charcoal barbeque grills (some of which are deteriorating). Yes, it is expensive -- especially compared to what you might pay at a nice Caribbean resort -- but the pricing looks competitive against other Northern resorts.

We must mention Walter, the Springer who greets the arriving guests with a total wag. This is a family-oriented resort with many activities for the kids, even including dock fishing that is all catch and release-a great ethic to teach. Grandview was the only resort we could find that offered the four-night reservation we needed. That, plus the accommodations, amenities, reviews, and the fact that Grandview is a local, family-owned and managed business, sealed the deal for us. Being first timers to the region, we hoped for an authentic North Woods experience. The Grandview, with its rustic, mid-20th century roots, the serenity of the lake -- especially ending each day with the call of the loons while sitting by the fire -- and the variety of outdoor activities far exceeded our expectations! Sheyna and Mark are the most friendly and welcoming hosts! They warmly greeted us, gave us the tour, and happily answered all of our questions, so that we could make the most of our stay at Grandview and Voyageurs National Park. Every time we encountered Sheyna, Mark, or their family members, Pat and Rachel, going about their business of managing the resort, we were met with smiles and good conversation, which only enhanced the quality of our experience at Grandview. We stayed in the Lakeview Cabin, which is perfect and charming in every way a cabin can be, and comfortably accommodated my husband, myself, and our teen aged son. I would be remiss if I left out the resort store, which offers a nice variety of items, and beautiful handmade gifts. We left wishing we had more time to stay and enjoy the beauty and peace of the little slice of heaven that is Grandview of Lake Kabetogama, and look forward to being "next-timers"!

I camped here for two evenings back over the summertime of 2021 and really enjoyed my experience. There were so many great aspects to Arnold's. First thing...although they don't accept reservations online, I called them the day of needing a campsite and they had immediate availability. Granted, this area of International Falls, Minnesota is very remote in terms of locations for tourists to visit, but overall, Arnold's was extremely accessible for any adventurer traveling spontaneously. I just had my tent with me and could have used a simple primitive site for $20...but for $5 more I got Amp Power as well for charging my electronics. I was set up for success in my explorations around Voyageurs National Park. Arnold's is located pretty much right in town of International Falls, MN...convenient for everything a good ole small town can offer. There are fast food restaurants, supply stores, grocery stores...all the necessities that you can think of. So...having the amenities of International Falls while spending time at the Rainy Lake section of Voyageurs (only 12 miles away) as well as the Lake Kabetogama area too (only 28 miles away), it was great to stay here at Arnold's. I met the Arnold, the camp host right when I pulled into the campground, and he directed me to my site which was located in the center of the grounds surrounded by the RV sites. What was terrific about being in the middle of it all was that I got to set up my tent along fluffy grass while being situated close to the bathrooms and showers. I paid $25 per night for 2 nights. Right when I was greeted by Arnold, he gave me a quick overview and tour of the campgrounds. And that was it. I was good to go on my own. I set up my tent and plugged in my electronics with the Amp Power service (I believe I had 20 Amp). Since it was late in the afternoon on my first day...I headed off to the shower house. They have 2 showers for men, basically both very clean and well maintained. The bathrooms located inside the shower house were fine. Also good was the cell phone reception service being strong. I had no issues downloading a couple of movies to watch at night. Some other details and extras... - They have a dump station. - They sell firewood and have fire pits. - Each site had a picnic table. - Quiet hours start at 10pm. - They offer rates for weekly and monthly stays. Weekly is $150. Monthly is $550. During my time here, there actually weren't any other visitors staying next to me with tents. I was the only person using a tent. But...all the RV sites were fully occupied. Lastly, using Arnold's as my home base in exploring a majority of Voyageurs National Park was simply ideal and perfect. I'm so happy I found it on Campendium, the app on my phone. I highly recommend to visitors and tourists interested in coming to this remote area of Northern Minnesota near the border with Canada to consider staying at Arnold's Campground & RV Park.
