Yup. So there are a lot of reviews on this place and cowboy Mark and they are all amazing for a reason. Without going into too much detail this was the best horseback riding experience I have ever had. Cowboy Mark is very experienced and has been doing this for years. He has lots of stories to keep you entertained and he is also a very good poet. This is definitely something you should not miss while in Homer/Alaska. It is a whole day kind of thing so pack lunch, maybe the subway on the way is a good idea. We started at 8am and got back around 3:30 ish. Most Definitely worth the $100 we payed. Ive paid almost that much for just an hour of tail riding. Ohh and this isn't just trail riding, he takes you out on the beach with room to go around and ride in a group. Great experience. My husband and I went on a trail ride with Mark on August 11th, 2021. It was a great adventure! Half the fun was listening to Mark's stories, info about the tidal flats and history of the area. What a fantastic time my wife and I had today, riding horseback to the Head of Kachemak Bay was the top of our list to do while in Homer and wee weren't disappointed. Cowboy Mark and his niece along with their trusty side kick Aly the Boarder Collie were very helpful and very informative on the terrain. Crossing the Fox River relaxing, we plan on doing this again next year when we come back. I highly recommend this to anyone that wants to experience a true adventure. read more

Mark and his niece took my family out for a wonderful ride to the Fox River Valley. The scenery was beautiful!! They were informative, personable, knowledgeable and just pleasant to spend the day with. We are not experienced riders but after our instructions and the first 30 min we were all at ease. Wonderful trail ride in one of the most beautiful places on earth. Cowboy Mark and Karina were excellent on matching just the right horse for each rider and paid very close attention throughout the ride. They are very knowledgeable and we learned a lot about living in Alaska. The horses were gentle, perfect for novice or proficient rider. Fabulous 13 mile ride with an Alaskan Cowboy . Mark has 13 gorgeous horses and 60 plus Cattle and his Border Collie, Alyeska, ran 13 miles with us ! Traversing the Valley thru creeks and rivers and up a 700 ft switchback with beautifully trained horses / it was as great a day as one could ask for in Homer , Alaska ! My 2 daughters and I will talk about it for yrs !!!! read more
