Beware of the sharky new car dealership atmosphere. Bought a brand new 5x8 utility trailer and after I paid seen I was charged a labor charge of $75 30 minutes for hooking up my brand new trailer. Also a shop fee for I have no idea why and $69 for a doc you sign fee they make you use to say you know how to use your trailer. I don't like sneaky hidden BS fees that make no sense. I bought a 20' dovetail equipment trailer to run a load of stuff from my dad's estate from CA to NE, an 1800 mile trip. After loading the trailer and hitting the road within that 1800 mile trip the trailer lights stopped working, the trailer brakes stopped working, I noticed that the feet on both ramps were different heights by 6+ inches so only one ever touched the ground, the liners inside the fenders were very poorly tack welded in and started falling out and rubbing tires. The trailer pulled nice and straight, it LOOKS good, but finding all of this obvious stuff wrong with it on the first trip I took definitely has me concerned. I looked closer at things after all of these issues upon arriving in NE and getting the trailer unloaded and there are a LOT of welds that are just straight up bad quality, very little penetration and obviously there was not enough heat being used. The paint work on the trailer is bad at best, zero prep work before getting one thin coat of paint, lots of stuff missed etc. The wiring is sloppy, bad crimps and ugly tape jobs covering the unions in wiring. I paid $5400+ for this trailer and had planned to keep it for the long term but after going over the thing more closely I have some major concerns with what kind of longevity it will have. There will certainly be some welds having to be redone as things continue to fall apart and rust is going to be a major issue as well, though that's mostly cosmetic. I have contacted the Trailers Plus in Omaha and will be dropping the trailer with them tomorrow for repairs so the company has a shot at gaining one star in how that goes, but by and large I would strongly recommend making a purchase from any number of other dealer/manufacturers, these are just of extremely poor quality and quality control seems to be non-existent or a lot of this stuff would've been caught. read more

The people here are GREAT ... I apparently got a bad trailer. Carry On is the manufacture and Interstate/Trailers Plus partner with them and I got one where the hubs throw grease. So the first time it was in for warranty repairs (two days) they just tightened the axle nut or so I was told. Brought it in for a 2nd repair a few weeks later and they replaced the 'guts' of the hub with all new stuff. I got 30 miles into Chico and saw the mess, brought it right back for the 3rd warranty repair (no lemon laws on trailers apparently). Now it has been 10 days of their labor and 3 shop visits (about $120 in fuel as I live in Red Bluff) where they just can NOT understand why the hubs toss grease and not stay sealed. They do not have micrometers to measure the machine specs to see if the spindle was cut correctly. So I am now in a position of waiting another 14 days .. maybe .. for a new axle to be delivered. I paid cash ($2000) for the trailer and have had it 90 days with 15 days so far in the shop. These are GOOD people and they are doing as ordered to get their pay check ... the company behind the trailer I give a big thumbs down to. My fix the first time would have been to replace the axle after I measured the specs to prove the axle was a lemon. These people do not have the proper tools to diagnosis and repair lemon parts that are poorly manufactured .. as the replacement parts fit worse then the new ones out of the factory. Hence .. the factory parts are really really bad. Carry On makes a trailer with poor welding and plastic end caps the fall off to the road and the wood deck is cheaply selected on top of a bad manufacture machine work process. What I recommend to the consumer .. find out if it is a Carry On Trailer that has an Interstate Decal on it sold by Trailers Plus ... and stay away from that purchase. I own a Titan Trailer and they are proud of their work so much so that they put their name on it. I am a very happy Titan Trailer owner. Carry On hides their name and puts up a shell corporate front to sell their trailers so that is 'looks' like it is American but are apparently made in Mexico. read more

Trailer is garbage. Had it for 2 months, already bent a couple things. Had a big tex for years and never had these kind of problems. Alignment in the rear axle was way off, gave it back to them and they are trying to blame me, saying I was overloading it. read more

First bad review, but sometimes you feel you have to say something. I live on a small ranch in Magalia, CA and needed a small utility trailer clearing out stuff after the fire. Its a 90 minute drive to TrailersPlus in Live Oak and I called earlier in the day to say I wanted to buy a trailer and would be there between 4:30 and 5pm, no issues. There was a lot of traffic which has been a problem since the fire. I wasn't going to be there til about 5:10 and they close at 5:30. I had cash in hand but I called anyway to make sure they were not closing early or anything. It is very difficult to call and get a person on the property because they have a hard sales answering system that must be off site. I finally spoke to someone just before 5pm and told them I would be there within 15 mins and even had the stock number of the trailer I wanted to come and pick up. They said they cannot sell to me today, they require 1 hour to do all of the paperwork and such. WHAT?! I told them, no loan, no credit check, cash or CC and I am done, I know what I want. They refused and I had already spent 70+ minutes on the road. I was angry, and there was no exception. As I was sitting there, fuming, because I needed the trailer quickly, I remembered something. I have bought from this place before years ago. I bought a 24' utility trailer from them maybe 10 years ago, and it was great, but then just 3-4 years ago I drove down to buy a small enclosed utility trailer. I talked to the sales person looking at different trailers. After I found the one I wanted, I said "I'll take it". He said, "sorry, its 5pm and we close at 5:30, you will have to come back tomorrow". I couldn't believe what I was hearing. Again, I was paying with a credit card, just sell me the trailer, this is a long drive. Nope, he refused. I was so mad then, and I found another place closer to home that I didn't know about called Jeff's Truck Service and found almost the same trailer but better quality and a bit more. I bought it the SAME night, they are open to 6pm and stayed open a bit to help me, no problem at all. So I remembered this from a few years ago and I said to my wife, what is that companies name we got that trailer from that day? She looks at google and says Jeff's. I say, "yep, that's it" and flip a u turn and head to Jeff's Truck Service. But since I wasted all this time I won't get there til 5:45pm and they close at 6. I get there and I ask to see their 5x8 utility trailers and they show them to me. Again, better quality and a bit more. I feel bad, its now 10 minutes to closing so I ask if my wife comes tomorrow can we get it then and they hook it up for her? The woman says no problem. I say, "I could also do it now, but I know its late and its pouring rain out". She says, "no problem, we can do it now, it only takes a few minutes and we will pull it out and hook it up while we do the paperwork." So we did just that, and in about 15 mins, at 6:08pm I was driving off with a new trailer. I hope my memory serves me better in the future and I just think of Jeff's first thing. Jeff's may need to do a bit better job marketing so I find them first, but they sure do a great job servicing their customers. I will do my best to avoid trailersplus and head to Jeff's from now on, you should too. read more

No customer service at all. Owner isn't even available to listen to concerns. Travelled from FL to NC to pick up trailer only to find they couldn't sell it because they had no internet. They made us come at an appointed time and we were on a tight schedule to get back home ahead of Ida. Took 2 days off work, stayed in hotel to get to they appointment on time and they didn't even seem concerned about the situation. llguess they can't use the old paper and pen method in an emergency. read more

So I bought a dump trailer a year and a half ago and got an email saying to take it in for an inspection, made an appointment and took it in and they told me all the bearings are shot and I needed to replace them. I asked the tech who called how could this happen? He told me that they use red grease and not Wheel bearing grease so I asked him why should I have to pay to replace them then? He told me that's what they use, so I said ok how much to replace the bearings and put actual wheel bearing grease on them so this doesn't happen again, he told me he couldn't do that with the grease and he only had one set of bearings so I could come get the trailer! Not really happy about this situation, I have always used wheel bearing grease and have quite a few trailers and have never had to change wheel bearings ! read more

I told her we had come from out of town to purchase a dump trailer so sorry to have bothered her. If they don't want to sell trailers why pretend to be open? If I could give trailersplus a zero thats what I would give them. I found a dump trailer, asked if they could transfer it to a closer dealer (was told NO), put a hold on it, procured financing, drove 5 hours to pick it up and they refused my bank check. NEVER once did they say they needed to see the check first! I actually told the guy what I was doing. He made me an appointment for a Saturday. Bank isn't open to verify funds by the time I get there, And it's a loan check. Gave a copy of my loan documents to boot!!! read more

Bought a new trailer and the service was great. Unfortunately, that is where the happy part of this story ends. Trailer came with a leak inside. long story short and almost a year later...I had it fixed somewhere else(after letting them try the wrong thing 3 times) and was reimbursed from headquarters. Steer clear of this place, as they are not qualified to work on trailers and their trailer from factory are sub-par quality. Wish I had gone somewhere else! read more

I bought a enclosed trailer from Trailer plus in Live Oak. It did not have a bracket for the spare tire, so I paid for the bracket and the installation. Bracket was installed onsite. Also purchased a spare tire, but by the time got took the trailer home, the spare tire and the bracket was on the floor and there were two holes on the 1/4" plywood that covers the walls. Now, I am hoping that the axle, wheels or the doors don't fall. I don't trust their quality control, since I don't think they had one when they installed the bracket. I would not go there again. read more

Very easy in and out on a trailer purchase. We had been toying with the idea for a while and decided that today was the day. We found Trailers Plus through craigslist and made our way up to them. Although I'm not positive I got the lowest price, the wife and I are satisfied with the purchase. From walk-in to drive-out, it took 45 minutes to complete the paperwork, debit transaction, walk-around inspection, discuss the warranty and maintenance, then connect to the van and roll out. I bought a 6 by 12 trailer asked if they would throw in a lock n load system for my bike that I would buy the trailer they said they would and that the lock n load system had all the straps and everything I needed for the bike when I got home and opened the box to the lock and load system there were no straps more no tire lock down it was just a metal plate in the bar for the front tire when I called them and asked them about it they said that's all I get I tried complaining to the corporate office and had no results The biggest mistake I ever made I bought lots of vehicles and this was the worst experience I ever had was buying a trailer who would've thought read more

In their ads they claim to be the best in customer service. They won't ignore or overlook you. My husband and I came here to buy a trailer cash in hand. We were ignored for 45 minutes! Approached once because my husband asked the price of one of the trailers, employees responded with I'm with a customer hold on, and ignored again because they were too busy. While I see other employees just walking around chatting with each other. Well I am happy to say that we left and they lost out on a pretty easy sale. All we asked was the price and even that was too much. I guess our $2000 isn't good there! Will be finding a trailer somewhere else! read more
